Overview

The Vellner Program cycles through six weekly themes: Olympic lifting, sprint conditioning, bodybuilding, engine work, gymnastics, and a weekly grind. The range gives athletes a broad training mix, while adjustments for equipment, session length, ability, and readiness make the program more flexible than a fixed schedule. That flexibility is useful when training conditions change, though the program still relies on the athlete to record results.

Key features

Adaptive programming and predictions

ARDOR includes AI coaching, adaptive progression, custom workout plans, equipment profiles, and a 500-exercise library. It predicts results from entered times or weights, then uses logged performance to inform later workouts. This can make programming more responsive for athletes who keep their logs current; anyone expecting automatic activity capture will need to adjust, since ARDOR does not sync wearables or track workouts through Apple HealthKit. Workout history also cannot be imported from another app, so new users start without that context.

Community and coaching tools

Relative leaderboards, shared workouts, community chat, kudos, and monthly challenges give members ways to share progress and stay engaged. Coaches can use creator tools to visualize personalization, monitor athlete progress, and spot exercises or muscle groups that may be underused or overloaded. These tools broaden ARDOR’s appeal beyond individual training, although the stated athlete focus remains CrossFit, HYROX, and hybrid programming.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and provides one workout per week, with full access for the first 7 days. That is enough to sample the program, but the weekly cap makes it a limited long-term option for athletes training more often.

The Monthly Plan costs 19.99 USD per month for All Access. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, so it is the more flexible paid option only if the user tracks that cancellation deadline. The Annual Plan costs 119.99 USD per year for All Access and is presented as saving 50% off monthly pricing. It suits athletes ready to commit for a year; those still assessing fit have the 14-day trial and can start with the capped free plan.

Platforms

ARDOR is available on iOS. Its lack of wearable sync, Apple HealthKit workout tracking, and workout-history import means users who want training records gathered across devices or carried over from another app should look elsewhere.

Who it's for

ARDOR is aimed at CrossFit, HYROX, and hybrid athletes who value varied, coach-designed programming and want sessions adapted to their equipment, time, ability, and recovery. It is also relevant to coaches seeking visibility into personalization and athlete progress. It is a weaker fit for people who need Android access, automated wearable tracking, or a free plan with frequent workouts.

Pros and cons

Pros: Workouts adapt to equipment, duration, ability, and readiness, making the program practical across changing training conditions.
Pros: Logged times and weights inform later workouts, while community features provide shared training and peer comparison.
Pros: The annual plan offers All Access for 119.99 USD per year and is presented as 50% off monthly pricing.
Cons: Free use is limited to one workout per week after the first 7 days of full access.
Cons: No wearable or Apple HealthKit workout tracking, and no history import, leave data entry and continuity to the athlete.
Cons: iOS is the only supported platform, excluding Android users.

Alternatives

For a broader AI Fitness Apps comparison, use the category guide. Choose APEX if Android support or uncapped workout and meal logging on a free plan matters more than ARDOR’s athlete-focused adaptive programming; its free plan also includes unlimited custom routines and 300+ exercises.

Miles is a more focused iPhone run-tracking option, with goal setting and plan previews on its free plan. Saga Coach is worth considering for its three always-free workouts and chat trial, especially if an athlete wants to sample coaching before paying.

Styrki offers unlimited manual workout logging, PB tracking, GPS runs, cardio and heart-rate features, plus three AI workouts and five additional features on its free plan; it may suit athletes who prioritize logging and tracking breadth. Freeletics is a cross-platform option on Android, iOS, and web, with a limited free selection of workouts, exercises, runs, and audio sessions.

AI-Training is another paid fitness app to compare. Core Direction may be preferable to someone seeking a lower-priced premium tier: its Core Direction premium plan is 9.99 USD per month and includes AI wearable tracking, an AI body scan and 3D avatar, and an AI personal trainer. Run With Hal is the more relevant alternative for runners; its Hal+ plans cost 6.99 USD per month or 59.99 USD per year.

Verdict

Choose ARDOR if you train for CrossFit, HYROX, or hybrid events and want coach-designed sessions that respond to your circumstances and recorded performance. Its mix of adaptive programming, predictions, and community gives it a clear purpose for that audience. Look elsewhere if wearable tracking, imported history, Android access, or regular free workouts are essential to your routine.
