Overview

ARI brings job handling, vehicle information, payments, and customer access together. Customers can use a link to follow repair progress, approve recommended work, book visits, and pay invoices without an app download or account signup. That customer-facing portal is a useful advantage for shops seeking a low-friction way to keep customers informed and move work forward.

For the shop, ARI covers client and vehicle records, job cards, estimates, digital inspections, invoices, inventory, accounting, appointments, reminders, technician time tracking, and reporting. Vehicle tools include VIN decoding, license plate reading, service history, and OBD scanning. ARI lists integrations with Square, 360Payments, PayPal, Stripe, Helcim, PartsTech, M1, CarFax, CarMD, QuickBooks, and Wisetack.

Key features

Repair workflow and shop administration

ARI combines work orders, estimates, inspections, and invoicing with inventory and accounting. Appointments, reminders, time tracking, and reporting help organize the work around each repair. This breadth suits independent operators and shops looking to keep core administration in one place, though teams should compare its paid-plan terms carefully if credit usage is central to their workflow.

Customer portal and vehicle tools

The link-based portal lets customers review and approve recommended work, see progress, book, and pay without signing up. It can reduce friction in customer communication, while vehicle history and identification tools give technicians vehicle-specific information alongside the job record.

Integrations and data practices

ARI's integrations span payment processors and automotive, accounting, and financing services, giving shops options for connecting parts, payments, and records. ARI says account access uses secure usernames and passwords, sensitive data is encrypted and stored on Firebase, and user data is shared with CarFax only when a user opts in.

Pricing

ARI has a free trial with a tight cap: up to five invoices, estimates, inspections, clients, vehicles, and other items. That is enough to explore the workflow, but not a dependable free tier for a working shop. Paid accounts have no monthly invoice limit and no limit on added users or devices.

ARI Pro (monthly) costs 39.99 USD per month. It includes invoicing, inspections, inventory, accounting, appointments, reminders, time tracking, payments, reporting, credits, image attachments, priority support, a white-labeled client portal, and a white-labeled booking page. It suits shops that prefer monthly billing and want the full listed feature set.

ARI Pro Plus (monthly) costs 59.99 USD per month and adds a one-time allotment of 3000 credits to the Pro feature set. This may suit shops that need that credit allocation, but the higher monthly price is not justified by any other listed feature difference.

ARI Pro (yearly) costs 399.99 USD per year, billed at 33.33 USD monthly. It has the Pro feature set and lowers the effective monthly cost in exchange for annual payment. ARI Pro Plus (yearly) costs 599.99 USD per year, billed at 49.99 USD monthly, and includes the same one-time 3000-credit allotment as monthly Pro Plus. Both annual plans are for shops prepared to commit for a year; the Pro Plus premium is mainly for the added credits.

Platforms

ARI supports Android, iOS, web, and Windows, making it relevant to teams that need access across mobile devices and desktop environments.

Who it's for

ARI is best suited to mobile mechanics, independent technicians, and repair businesses that want work management, vehicle tools, and customer approvals and payments in one system. The link-based portal is especially useful when customers should not need to install an app or create an account. Shops that need more than the trial's five-item allowance should plan on a paid subscription.

Pros and cons

Pros: Customers can approve work, follow repairs, book, and pay through a link without an account or app.
Pros: Shop administration spans job cards, inspections, estimates, inventory, accounting, time tracking, and reporting.
Pros: Paid accounts have no monthly invoice limit and no limit on users or devices.
Cons: The free trial caps invoices, estimates, inspections, clients, vehicles, and other items at five each, making it unsuitable for ongoing use.
Cons: Pro Plus costs more primarily for a one-time 3000-credit allotment; shops should weigh that against their credit needs.
Cons: Annual billing reduces the monthly equivalent but requires paying the full yearly amount.

Alternatives

For a wider comparison, see Automotive Repair Software.

GEM-CAR is an alternative with monthly plans at 149.00 USD and 299.00 USD, each including two users; choose it if those plans and its Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows support better fit your requirements.
Workshop Software has a Silver plan at 99.00 AUD per year with full job and vehicle management, booking management, and data import/export; consider it if those capabilities and its Android, API, iOS, and web platform support are a closer match.
GetAFix offers a Starter plan with up to five users and one location on a tailored quote; consider it if that structure fits your operation.
Mitchell 1 Manager SE is an alternative for independent repair shops working on autos and light-duty trucks.
ShopKey Shop Management is another paid shop-management option.
CCC ONE Repair Workflow is another paid option available on Android, iOS, web, and Windows.
Protractor offers a CRM and online service scheduler for 249.00 USD per month, with customer communication, service reminders, follow-ups, and targeted retention offers; choose it if those customer-retention tools are the priority.
AutoServe1 has a Pro plan at 399.00 USD per month with expanded workflow features, unlimited text messaging, mobile estimate approval, and text-to-pay; consider it if those capabilities suit your needs.

Verdict

ARI is a strong choice for independent repair operators who want shop workflows, vehicle tools, and customer approvals and payments without forcing customers to install an app or create an account. Its broad administration features and unlimited paid-plan invoices, users, and devices support ongoing shop use. Look elsewhere if the five-item trial cap is too restrictive for evaluation, or if ARI Pro Plus's one-time credit allotment does not justify its higher price.
