Overview

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WEBP file and Artguru identifies the main subject, removes the background, and produces a transparent PNG in seconds. You can leave the image transparent, choose a solid color, or upload a custom background image. This covers the core cutout-and-replace task in one tool, though it is not a substitute for a broader image editor.

Artguru says its machine-learning tool can handle fine edges such as wisps of hair and animal fur. That is useful for portraits and detailed product shots, but it does not guarantee a clean edge on every image.

Key features

Batch processing

The uploader allows up to 200 images, which could help a shop prepare a run of product photos. Batch background removal is a Pro feature, however, so the uploader's capacity does not make batch processing part of the free plan.

Credits and image handling

Background removal costs one credit per image, shown as $0.01 per image. Subscription credits expire at the end of the current cycle and do not roll over, so users with uneven workloads may lose unused credits. Subscription media is kept for a year; free-trial media is kept for 24 hours.

Uploaded inputs may be used to improve AI models, and the privacy policy says that training use cannot be reversed once incorporated into a model. Users can clear data or delete an account; associated personal information is typically deleted or anonymized within 30 days, subject to exceptions. Most collected information is stored and processed on US servers, though it may also be processed elsewhere.

Pricing

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free plan	Free	New users get free credits; standard downloads up to 1024×1024 px.
Background removal usage	0.01 USD per month	Removal costs one credit per image, shown as $0.01 per image.
Artguru Pro	Custom pricing	More credits, original-quality downloads, and batch background removal.

The free plan is suitable for occasional, standard-size cutouts, but its 1024×1024 px download ceiling may not fit larger output needs. The per-image rate is straightforward for small jobs; credits expiring each subscription cycle make it less forgiving for sporadic use. Pro is the relevant option for original-quality downloads or batch work, while its price is custom.

Platforms

Artguru is available on web, Android, and iOS. The privacy policy also names Google, Apple, Facebook, and VK as optional sign-in providers, and support is available by email at support@artguru.ai.

Who it's for

This is a sensible fit for sellers, social media creators, and people making presentation portraits who need a quick subject cutout and background replacement. It is less suitable for users who need predictable high-resolution output at no cost, dependable batch access on a free plan, or assurance that uploaded inputs will not be used for model improvement.

Pros and cons

Pros: JPG, PNG, and WEBP uploads plus transparent PNG output cover common cutout workflows.
Pros: Solid-color and custom-image backgrounds let users complete a basic replacement in the same tool.
Pros: Free credits let new users try the workflow, and removal has a stated per-image credit cost.
Cons: Free standard downloads stop at 1024×1024 px, limiting their use for larger deliverables.
Cons: Batch removal requires Pro, despite the uploader accepting up to 200 images.
Cons: Subscription credits expire without rollover, and uploaded inputs may contribute to AI model improvement.

Verdict

Choose Artguru if you need a focused way to remove and replace backgrounds across web and mobile, and its standard download cap or Pro features match your workload. Its free credits lower the barrier to trying it, while Pro adds original-quality downloads and batch removal. Look elsewhere if you need free high-resolution output, credits that carry forward, or a policy that excludes uploaded inputs from model improvement.
