Overview

AskYourPDF lets users ask questions about uploaded PDFs or text documents and retrieve answers and summaries from their contents. Website agents can use web pages and uploaded PDF, TXT, PPT, PPTX, EPUB, and RTF files as sources; the company says agents answer only from those sources, a useful constraint when responses should stay grounded in supplied material.

It also automates PDF form completion: provide a fillable or non-fillable form and data from another PDF, a text file, or pasted content. The product is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia.

Key features

Document chat and summaries: Ask questions about a PDF or text document to find information and key insights. Premium and Pro add multi-document Knowledge Base chat and summarisation, which makes them better suited than Free to work spanning several files.
Website agents: Embed an agent that draws on site pages and supported uploads. Integrations cover plain HTML, WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, React, Vue, and Next.js, giving both site builders and development teams options.
PDF form completion: Populate fields using information from another file or pasted text, including when the form itself is not fillable. This is a distinct workflow beyond document Q&A.
Extensions and plugins: The Chrome extension can work with PDFs opened from Google Drive in Chrome; plugins are also offered for Zotero and ChatGPT.
API: Supports PDF data extraction, document chatbots, searching and navigating PDF contents, and conversations across multiple documents. The company cites uses across education, legal research, finance, technical documentation, healthcare, and customer support.
Security: AskYourPDF says it is GDPR compliant and uses encryption and strict data security and privacy standards.

Pricing

AskYourPDF uses a freemium model, with paid plans shown from $11.99/mo (annual). Premium and Pro display a free-trial offer, but no duration; check the terms before relying on a particular trial period.

Plan	Price	Limits and inclusions
Free	Custom pricing	100 pages per document, 15MB upload, one document per day, 50 questions per day, and three conversations per day.
Premium	11.99 USD per year (billed per month, billed yearly)	2,500 pages per document, 31MB upload, 50 documents per day, 1,200 questions per day, and 50 conversations per day; includes multi-document Knowledge Base chat, summarisation, Chrome extension access, and OCR support.
Pro	14.99 USD per year (billed per month, billed yearly)	6,000 pages per document, 877MB upload, 150 documents per day, 100,000 questions per day, and 10,000 conversations per day; includes Premium features, priority support, and longer replies.
API Free	Custom pricing	100 messages and 5,000 pages per month.
API Pro	49.99 USD per month (billed monthly)	6,000 messages and 60,000 pages per month.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Unlimited pages per document, 1431MB upload, 1,000 documents per day, and unlimited questions and conversations per day.
API Enterprise	Custom pricing	Flexible messages per day and high-volume document pages per month.

Free is enough for occasional questions, but one document a day, three conversations, and a 15MB upload ceiling can quickly constrain regular study or work. Premium raises those caps substantially and adds OCR and multi-document chat; Pro is the stronger fit for heavier daily use, with higher quotas, larger uploads, priority support, and longer replies. API Free is a small monthly allowance for trying an integration, while API Pro sets explicit monthly message and page quotas. Enterprise plans use custom pricing for higher-volume or flexible needs. The displayed annual-plan price wording pairs “per year” with monthly billing language, so confirm the billing amount and renewal terms before subscribing.

Platforms

AskYourPDF is available on web, Android, and iOS, with a Chrome extension and API access. Its broad website integration support makes it usable in existing site stacks, while mobile apps cover document access away from a desktop.

Who it's for

Students, researchers, and professionals who regularly need answers from documents can benefit from the chat and multi-document plans. Businesses that want a source-bounded website agent or automated form completion have additional reasons to consider it. API capabilities address developers building document workflows in areas such as legal research, finance, education, healthcare, technical documentation, and customer support. For account, billing, or document-processing issues, AskYourPDF directs users to its support team; sales handles plan questions and demos.

Pros and cons

Pro: Combines document chat, website agents, and form completion, covering several document workflows in one service.
Pro: Website agents accept several file types and integrate with common site platforms and frontend frameworks.
Pro: Premium and Pro offer sharply higher document, question, and conversation allowances than Free.
Con: Free permits only one document per day and three conversations per day, restricting sustained use.
Con: API Free is capped at 100 messages and 5,000 pages per month, so production use may require a paid or custom plan.

Verdict

Choose AskYourPDF if your work needs more than PDF chat—especially website agents, automatic form filling, or an API for document workflows. Premium is the practical step up for regular multi-document use, while Pro targets much heavier volumes. Look elsewhere if the free daily limits are too restrictive or if you need clear trial and billing terms before committing.
