Overview

Planner 5D is a design app for building home, landscape, and office floor plans in 2D and 3D. It suits people who want to plan and furnish a space visually, from homeowners to design studios. Its appeal is the path from a basic plan to a furnished, viewable design; buyers who need professional CAD workflows or dependable syncing across Android and other devices should weigh its limits carefully.

Key features

Plan and furnish a space

Users can draw floor plans, furnish and decorate rooms, and switch between 2D and 3D views. That combination makes Planner 5D useful for exploring room arrangements before committing to a layout. The free tier is a meaningful starting point, but access to only half the furniture catalog may constrain projects that depend on a broader choice of furnishings.

AI and visualisation

The app describes AI tools for generating ideas, exploring layouts, and testing styles. Real-time scenes, 360° tours, VR/AR support, and AI visualisation tools broaden the ways to review a design. These capabilities may help communicate a concept, though the plans distinguish render quality and quantity most clearly at the upper tiers: Premium includes standard renders, while Professional adds unlimited 4K renders and 360° walkthroughs and panoramas.

Floor-plan files and integrations

Users can upload JPG, PNG, PDF, DWG, and DXF plans for recognition, which can save time when starting from an existing drawing. PRO users can export 2D plans in DWG or DXF; Professional also includes CAD export. Businesses can connect through options such as Open API, SSO, CRM, e-commerce, shopping carts, ERP, and DataStore. The B2B integration uses JavaScript and server-to-server REST APIs, with access provisioned after signing, so it is aimed at organizations prepared for an integration process rather than casual users.

Pricing

Planner 5D uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a free trial. The stated paid starting price is $19.99/mo, while the named annual plans are:

Free: 0.00 USD per free, with no time limit. It includes unlimited projects, core 2D/3D design, and 50% of the furniture catalog. This is the sensible choice for learning the workflow or planning modest projects; the partial catalog is the main trade-off.
Premium: 59.99 USD per year, billed annually. It adds floor-plan upload and conversion to a 3D project, the full premium furniture catalog, standard renders, and a budget widget. It fits homeowners or renovators who want broader furnishing choices and a cost-planning aid without the professional rendering package.
Professional: 399.99 USD per year, billed annually. It includes unlimited 4K renders, custom 3D model uploads, 360° walkthroughs and panoramas, and CAD export. This is better suited to professionals who need presentation and export capabilities; it is a substantial step up from Premium for users who do not need those outputs.
Enterprise: custom pricing around scope and scale. It offers a white-label room planner, 3D product configurator, APIs, and cart, CRM, and ERP connections, making it the business-oriented option for integrated or branded experiences.

Subscriptions auto-renew. Cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid another charge. Android-only subscriptions do not support cross-platform synchronization; projects otherwise sync across supported devices when users sign in with the same account. That distinction matters for anyone considering a mobile subscription and also using Planner 5D elsewhere.

Platforms

Planner 5D is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. The broad platform range is useful for moving between mobile and desktop, but the Android-only subscription sync restriction weakens that advantage for some subscribers. The maker says it uses reasonable organizational and technical safeguards for personal data but cannot guarantee absolute security. It also says it does not sell student data or process it for AI training or advertising.

Who it's for

Planner 5D is a good fit for homeowners, renovators, and design enthusiasts who want to lay out and furnish spaces without starting with a dedicated CAD export workflow. Interior designers, architects, and studios may find the Professional plan's rendering, model-upload, and CAD-export features more relevant. Businesses looking for white-label or commerce-connected planning should consider Enterprise. It is less compelling for Android subscribers who need projects to sync across platforms, or for users who need professional export features on the lower tiers.

Pros and cons

Pros: Unlimited projects and core 2D/3D design on the no-time-limit free plan make it possible to work on multiple layouts before paying.
Pros: Upload recognition accepts common image, document, and CAD formats, while paid tiers extend the workflow to CAD export.
Pros: Premium and Professional separate broader catalog access from advanced rendering and export needs, so users can choose based on the work they do.
Cons: The free plan exposes only 50% of the furniture catalog, which can narrow furnishing choices.
Cons: Cross-platform project sync is not supported with Android-only subscriptions, a material limitation for users switching devices.
Cons: Auto-renewal requires cancellation at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid another charge.

Alternatives

Floor Plan Software is a useful category to compare if floor-plan creation is the main requirement and Planner 5D's furnishing and visualisation mix is not decisive. For landscape-focused work, compare Landscape Design Software and 3D Landscape Design Software; for broader visual presentation, see 3D Visualization Software. Readers specifically seeking generated layouts or interiors can also compare AI Floor Plan Generators and AI Interior Design Generators.

Home Design 3D is another freemium option with a free plan and apps for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows; its listed weekly subscriptions may suit someone comparing app-based access, though its Android and iOS/macOS prices differ. Choose Vectorworks Landmark instead if a paid product with macOS, web, and Windows support better fits the decision. PRO Landscape+ is a paid alternative for readers comparing landscape-design tools across Android, iOS, and Windows. SmartDraw offers a paid option across web, Windows, macOS, and Linux, with a three-user minimum for its Team plan. AutoLANDSCAPE is a paid Windows alternative. DynaScape Design is a Windows-only paid option with CAD-based landscape design, plant and symbol libraries, and landscape drafting tools. Home Designer is a paid Windows and macOS option that includes software upgrades, free catalog downloads, and technical support. Neighborbrite is a free web-based alternative.

Verdict

Choose Planner 5D if you want one accessible workspace for drawing, furnishing, and viewing home, landscape, or office layouts, with a free tier that supports unlimited projects. Its strongest case is the progression from basic planning to richer catalog access, renders, and CAD-related outputs. Look elsewhere if Android-only syncing is a deal-breaker or your work requires professional export and presentation features without moving to the costly Professional tier.
