Overview

Atwork combines project work, collaboration and structured data rather than centering on one department or workflow. Teams can organize information in several views, automate handoffs and share selected work with external guests without granting full workspace access. That flexibility can keep work together, though teams seeking a single-purpose product may be paying for more breadth than they need.

Founded in 2021, Atwork reports serving more than 10,000 teams in over 60 countries with a 48-person team. Its privacy position is reassuring for organizations assessing workspace data: it says it does not sell data or use private Customer Content to train third-party or foundation models. Its security controls include encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege practices, logging and regular security review. The DPA describes processing under GDPR Article 28 and safeguards for applicable international transfers.

Key features

Flexible views for structured work

Table, board, timeline, calendar, gallery and form views work with typed fields, formulas and relations. This lets a team choose how to manage the same structured information, from a tabular register to a calendar or board. It is useful when a process has different needs for data entry, planning and monitoring; teams wanting a fixed, opinionated workflow may not need this range.

AI and workflow automation

Atwork AI can draft and summarize documents, plan and organize work, answer questions across the workspace and power automation steps. Visual workflows support triggers, conditions, scheduled runs, branching and AI steps. Templates, approval routing, advanced conditional logic and employee request forms make the product relevant to teams formalizing internal processes. The AI budget is capped by plan, so teams with sustained usage should account for those allowances rather than assume AI is unlimited.

Connections and administration

Integrations include Telegram, Slack, LinkedIn, IMAP/SMTP email, Google Calendar, CalDAV, Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Zapier and Make. The API reads and writes sheet data, while an MCP server supports AI assistants. This is a useful bridge for teams connecting Atwork to other services, although the API scope described is centered on sheet data.

External guests and published views enable selective sharing. Higher-tier controls add SSO and SAML, advanced permissions and roles, scheduled triggers and event automations, and a full audit log. Support starts through Help center tickets, where an assistant usually replies within minutes before escalating to a person when needed.

Pricing

Atwork is freemium, with a free plan and paid plans priced per seat. A free trial is available.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	$0 forever	Up to 5 members, 1,000 items per sheet, unlimited tasks and docs, all core views and a $1 AI budget per organization per month.
Pro	$12 per seat per month, or $120 per seat per year billed annually	Unlimited members, 50,000 items per sheet, automations and workflows, dashboards and insights, custom AI agents and a $5 AI budget per seat per month.
Business	$24 per seat per month, or $240 per seat per year billed annually	Unlimited members and sheet items, SSO and SAML, advanced permissions and roles, scheduled triggers and event automations, full audit log and a $15 AI budget per seat per month.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Dedicated success manager, SCIM and DLP, data residency and audit logs, and custom AI budget and SLA.

Free is a practical starting point for small teams that can stay within five members and 1,000 items per sheet; its shared $1 monthly AI budget is restrictive for regular AI use. Pro removes the member cap and raises the sheet limit, making it the step-up for teams needing workflows and dashboards, but the $12 charge applies per seat. Business doubles that monthly seat price in exchange for unlimited sheet items and stronger identity, permission and audit controls. Enterprise is the fit for organizations needing dedicated support, data residency or custom terms, with custom pricing rather than a published rate.

Platforms

Atwork is available on the web and through an API.

Who it's for

Atwork is best for teams that want to model their own shared processes across tasks, documents and structured records, then add forms, approvals, automation and selective external access. It is particularly suited to groups that value multiple views and can make use of its integrations and AI features. A small team with modest needs can start free, while larger or more controlled deployments should compare the per-seat cost and Business or Enterprise requirements against their actual needs.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple views, typed fields, formulas and relations give teams room to represent different kinds of structured work.
Pros: Visual branching, approval routing, request forms and AI automation support configurable internal workflows.
Pros: Guest access and published views allow selective collaboration without full workspace access.
Pros: The free plan includes all core views, unlimited tasks and docs, and up to five members.
Cons: Free sheet capacity stops at 1,000 items and its AI budget is only $1 per organization per month.
Cons: Pro and Business are priced per seat, and the stronger identity and audit controls begin at Business.

Alternatives

For a workflow focused on employee submissions, HR Workflow Automation Software is a useful category to compare. Jotform is a freemium web, iOS and Android option with a free Starter plan that includes five forms and 100 monthly submissions, making it a more focused choice when form limits are sufficient. Pipefy offers a free plan with five processes, 10 users, 50 cards created per month, 2 GB of storage, 500 database records and five workflows; consider it when those process and card caps match the work being organized.

Requester has a free plan with three approver seats, unlimited submitters, 50 requests per month, five templates, two teams, 250 MB of storage and 150 pooled AI actions monthly, so it is an option when request handling and approvals are the priority. Drag is a paid alternative with a $16 monthly Starter plan for shared Gmail inboxes and Kanban, list and preview board views; choose it when shared inbox work is the main requirement. Cflow is a paid workflow product whose Joy plan costs $22 per month with a 10-user minimum and a 20-workflow maximum, making its stated capacity relevant to teams that fit those bounds.

Sanka Flow offers a free plan without further Flow-specific limits stated. ClayHR is a paid HR option with a Professional plan at $7 per employee per month that includes employee records, a dynamic form builder, PTO, timesheets and workflows including onboarding. Dazychain HR is a paid web and extension option with a Launch plan at $105 per user per month, standardized intake, workflows and matter templates, usage caps on AI and no implementation fee.

Verdict

Choose Atwork if your team wants one configurable workspace for structured work, collaboration and automated processes, with useful options for AI and selective external access. Its broad toolkit and flexible views are the main reasons to choose it; look elsewhere if you need only a focused request or inbox product, or if per-seat pricing and the free plan's sheet and AI caps do not fit your team.
