Overview

Treatwell Pro is cloud-based salon management software that brings scheduling, client records and business operations together with Treatwell’s booking platform. It suits salons and personal-care businesses that want marketplace-linked booking and tools for coordinating staff across one or more locations. Its free plans come with charges on some bookings and prepayments, so the headline price is not the whole cost.

Its broad operating toolkit is a strong fit for businesses prepared to run their salon activity through Treatwell. It is a weaker choice for salons that need their new system to sync with an existing management platform.

Key features

Bookings and scheduling

Clients can self-book online, while staff can manage appointment changes, cancellations, breaks and time off. Scheduling supports multiple locations, staff calendars and unlimited client reminders. Booking widgets can bring in appointments from Google, social media, a salon website and the Treatwell app, giving salons several routes to online bookings without installing desktop software. Configurable calendar access gives businesses control over what team members can see.

Client records and retention

Client histories and consultation forms keep customer information with the appointment workflow. A waiting list can help manage demand, and automated rebooking reminders are designed to encourage repeat visits. Client acquisition and retention tracking adds a way to follow those efforts. These tools make the platform more than a calendar, particularly for businesses focused on maintaining ongoing client relationships.

Business and team operations

Point of sale, stock management, and sales and accounting data cover routine business activity alongside appointments. Team tools include rotas, staff portfolios, performance tracking and flexible staff pricing. Together, these features can suit businesses coordinating a team and multiple locations; smaller operators may not need the full operational scope.

Access and data

Treatwell Pro runs in a browser across devices, with support for Android and iOS phones and tablets and Windows and Mac computers. Treatwell says salon data remains the establishment’s property, is processed under GDPR 679/2016 and remains theirs after cancellation. Its customer service team can import basic data and technical notes from a previous management system, but the software does not sync with other existing management systems. That distinction matters to salons seeking continuity: an initial import is not an ongoing connection.

Pricing

Treatwell lists two free plans, each priced at no cost. Both apply new-client commission to marketplace clients, subject to location, charge 2.5% processing on online prepayments, and make fees subject to VAT. Repeat bookings carry 0% commission.

Freelancer

Freelancer includes the stated marketplace and prepayment terms. It is the lower-scope option for an individual operator who does not need the unlimited staff members included with Advanced. There is no stated staff allowance for Freelancer, so businesses should confirm the plan’s fit before relying on it for a team.

Advanced

Advanced includes Freelancer features and unlimited staff members. It is the more suitable of the two plans for salons coordinating a larger team, while marketplace commission and online prepayment processing fees still apply. Since the new-client commission varies by location, salons should check the applicable charge for their market when estimating costs.

Neither free plan removes transaction-related charges: the 2.5% prepayment processing fee and applicable VAT matter to businesses taking online deposits, while marketplace commission can affect the cost of acquiring new clients.

Platforms

Treatwell Pro supports Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows. Browser access across devices avoids the need to install software on a computer, while mobile support lets staff use the service on phones and tablets.

Who it's for

Treatwell names hairdressing, men’s grooming, nail services, massage, hair removal, wellness and spa, skincare, and advanced aesthetics businesses among its customer categories. The combination of booking, client management, point of sale and team tools is best suited to salons that want these functions alongside Treatwell’s booking platform. Businesses that depend on real-time links to another management system should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Both plans are free, and Advanced includes unlimited staff members, making the entry price attractive for salons with teams.
Pros: Booking widgets accept appointments from Google, social media, salon websites and the Treatwell app, giving clients multiple ways to book.
Pros: Client records, consultation forms, rebooking reminders, point of sale and stock management cover more than scheduling alone.
Pros: Treatwell says salon data remains the business’s property after cancellation, and its support team can import basic data and technical notes from a previous system.
Cons: Marketplace bookings from new clients can incur commission, and online prepayments carry a 2.5% processing fee plus VAT.
Cons: The software does not sync with existing management systems, limiting its suitability for salons that need connected workflows.

Verdict

Treatwell Pro is a strong choice for salons that want free core management tools, marketplace-connected bookings and a broad set of client and team features in one cloud service. Advanced’s unlimited staff allowance makes it especially relevant to team-based businesses. Choose another system if integration with existing management software is essential, or weigh the marketplace commission and prepayment fee carefully if those bookings will make up a large share of revenue.
