Overview

Autify is an AI-powered application-testing platform with two distinct products: Aximo for natural-language test execution and Nexus for AI-assisted authoring with Playwright. It suits teams weighing low-code test creation against editable automation scripts, though the products have different plan limits and deployment options.

Aximo turns plain-English scenarios into end-to-end test runs; Nexus can generate tests from requirements and export editable Playwright scripts. That flexibility is useful, but buyers should match each workflow to its own pricing and access constraints.

Key features

Aximo natural-language execution

Aximo lets users describe a scenario in plain English, then autonomously navigate and execute it. Its product coverage includes iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS, but desktop app testing is Enterprise-only. Teams considering lower tiers should not assume that the listed desktop platforms are included in their coverage.

Credits and concurrency determine how much parallel work Aximo supports. The free Individual User plan provides 2,000 one-time credits without expiration and concurrency for one web and one mobile run. Core raises that to 72,000 annual or 6,000 monthly credits, with five web and two mobile concurrent runs. Team provides 360,000 annual or 30,000 monthly credits, with 20 web and five mobile runs.

Nexus authoring and Playwright

Nexus combines a natural-language recorder with test-case generation from product requirements and AI assistance for changed locators. Jira and Figma can supply requirements, and an open API can connect CI/CD tools. Because Nexus is built on Playwright and supports editable script export and import, it offers a route from assisted authoring to code that teams can maintain directly.

The free tier is deliberately local: it allows one user unlimited tests and scenarios, but excludes cloud parallel execution, shared remote workspaces, generative AI, and IP whitelisting. The one-month Core Features Trial also supports local test creation and execution, with no cloud access or AI enabled by default. These limits make free Nexus useful for evaluating local workflows, not for judging its paid cloud and AI capabilities.

Security and support

Autify lists ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2 certifications and describes organizational and technical measures to protect information assets and respond to security incidents. Nexus paid users can contact Intercom support, with a stated response time of within 24 hours.

Pricing

Autify has free and paid options, but Aximo and Nexus are priced separately. Aximo Core costs $99 / month billed annually or $120 / month billed monthly. Its 72,000 annual or 6,000 monthly credits and five web/two mobile concurrent runs suit smaller teams with recurring usage. Aximo Team costs $450 / month billed annually or $550 / month billed monthly, with 360,000 annual or 30,000 monthly credits and 20 web/five mobile concurrent runs for heavier parallel workloads. Both are hosted on Autify’s cloud.

Aximo Individual User is free and gives one-time, non-expiring credits and one web plus one mobile concurrent run; its finite credit pool makes it better for limited evaluation than sustained use. Aximo Enterprise has custom pricing, custom annual credits and concurrency, and on-premises or dedicated infrastructure. It is the option for teams that need those deployment choices or desktop app testing.

Nexus Free Tier costs nothing and includes one user, local execution, and unlimited tests and scenarios, but omits cloud parallelism, shared remote workspaces, generative AI, and IP whitelisting. Nexus Professional starts at $3,600 / year, starts at $400 / month, and includes one user, one shared workspace, generative AI, Intercom support, and Playwright code export/import. Nexus Enterprise has custom pricing, customizable users, workspaces, and cloud parallels, plus on-prem testing, IP whitelisting, and enterprise support. The Core Features Trial lasts one month and is limited to local creation and execution without cloud access or AI by default.

Platforms

Autify’s platform coverage spans Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, API, self-hosted, and web environments. Its stated testing scope also includes email and visual regression, with hybrid execution and support for Playwright, Selenium, and Cypress. The platform summary states five parallel runs, while Aximo plan concurrency varies by tier; buyers should use the product-specific limits when sizing an Aximo workload.

Who it's for

Autify is a strong fit for teams that want to author tests in natural language, add AI assistance to Playwright workflows, or combine those approaches across different needs. Aximo fits teams comfortable with cloud hosting and credit-based usage; Nexus suits Playwright teams seeking assisted generation and script control. It is less suitable for buyers who need desktop app testing below Enterprise or expect Nexus’s free tier to include cloud and AI features.

Pros and cons

Pro: Aximo accepts plain-English scenarios and executes them end to end, reducing the need to script each interaction.
Pro: Nexus exports editable Playwright scripts, preserving code-level control after AI-assisted authoring.
Pro: Nexus can draw requirements from Jira and Figma, while its open API can connect CI/CD tools.
Con: Aximo desktop app testing is Enterprise-only, despite the product’s broad platform coverage.
Con: Nexus Free Tier is local-only and excludes cloud parallelism, shared workspaces, and generative AI.
Con: Aximo’s free credits are one-time, and recurring or parallel workloads require a paid allowance.

Alternatives

For a free Solo plan with one user, one Local Agent, and one parallel execution, consider SmartestQA instead. Choose TestFirst if its free plan’s 100 one-time workspace credits and one-at-a-time testing suit a smaller evaluation. testRigor is another freemium option with a public open-source plan whose tests and results are public.

Momentic is a paid option with a free plan and free trial. Zequto may suit web-focused teams looking for a Team plan with AI Copilot authoring and self-healing locator engines. ACCELQ is another freemium option with web, mobile, and API automation. Testsigma offers a Test Management Pro plan at $14/user/month. UiPath Test Cloud is a freemium alternative. For broader directories, see AI Software Testing Tools and GUI Testing Software.

Verdict

Choose Autify if your team values natural-language execution with Aximo or AI-assisted Playwright authoring with Nexus, and can work within the relevant product’s credits, cloud access, and deployment limits. Look elsewhere if desktop testing must be available below Enterprise or if you need Nexus cloud and AI capabilities without moving beyond its local free tier.
