Overview

Smart Mix shortens songs, blends them with seamless transitions, and queues tracks according to how they fit together. Offtrack can also suggest tracks that match a listener’s taste and add them to a mix. That combination suits background listening and continuous sessions; it is less compelling for DJs who want a full manual mixing environment.

Key features

Mixing, highlights, and discovery

Smart Mix and Smart Queue are unlimited on both plans, so Free includes the central automated-mixing experience without a session quota. Highlight Mode trims tracks to their highlights, and iOS users can adjust song length in Highlight Preferences. Since Free limits Highlight Mode plays, it is a reasonable way to try shortened-track listening, but regular use points toward Pro. Track suggestions add a discovery angle, with the plans describing discovery of up to 300% new songs.

Music sources and playback controls

On iOS, Offtrack works with Spotify Premium, Apple Music, TIDAL, SoundCloud Free, a local music library, and CarPlay. Catalog coverage varies: Spotify Premium and Apple Music have partial catalogues in the app, TIDAL provides its full catalogue, and SoundCloud Go+ tracks are unavailable. Those limits matter if a particular service is central to your listening.

iOS users can edit the queue, save a mix as a playlist, sort tracks by BPM or energy, and filter explicit songs. Android supports Spotify Premium and SoundCloud Free, but lacks offline playback, EQ, saved transition points, and saved mix order. Android users therefore get the automated core with fewer ways to shape playback than iOS users.

Pricing

Offtrack Free is free. It includes unlimited Smart Mix and Smart Queue, limited Highlight Mode plays, and discovery of up to 300% new songs. Choose it to use the core mixing features without paying; the highlight cap is the main reason to upgrade.

Offtrack Pro costs 4.99 USD per month, billed $4.99/month. It keeps unlimited Smart Mix and Smart Queue, removes the Highlight Mode play limit, and includes discovery of up to 300% new songs. It fits listeners who regularly want songs shortened to highlights; it does not change the service catalogue limits or Android playback gaps.

The free plan and trial make it possible to start without committing to the monthly charge.

Platforms

Offtrack is available on Android, iOS, and macOS, including MacBooks introduced from 2020 onward. It is not available on Windows. The platform differences are consequential: iOS has the broader stated service support and queue controls, while Android lacks several playback features. The app says it processes music data on the user’s device rather than storing personal data in a server database; app stores and Google Analytics collect usage information.

Who it's for

Offtrack is a strong fit for listeners who want automated, flowing mixes and already use a supported service. It is especially suited to iOS listeners who value queue editing, playlist saving, and adjustable highlight lengths. Android users should weigh the missing offline playback, EQ, transition-point saving, and mix-order saving before choosing it. Email support is available, and Android users can book a personal session for setup help, troubleshooting, or tips.

Pros and cons

Pros: Unlimited Smart Mix and Smart Queue on Free make the core automated experience usable without a subscription.
Pros: iOS supports several music sources, CarPlay, queue editing, playlist saving, and BPM or energy sorting.
Cons: Spotify Premium and Apple Music catalogues are partial, and SoundCloud Go+ tracks are unavailable.
Cons: Android lacks offline playback, EQ, saved transition points, and saved mix order.
Cons: Free limits Highlight Mode plays, so frequent highlight listening requires the $4.99 monthly plan.

Alternatives

AI DJ Software is a directory of options to compare if Offtrack’s service and platform limits do not fit.

djay is a better fit if Windows support matters: it runs on Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows, and its free download includes core mixing features, with advanced features behind an optional PRO subscription.
automixer.ai is a web-based alternative if project-based mixing and exports suit your workflow: its free plan allows 3 projects, 6 tracks per project, and 5 exports per month, while Pro is 14.99 USD per month.
MIXX Intelligence is a macOS alternative for preparing a music collection, with its free Prepare plan covering crate import and analysis, key, BPM, and energy data, plus titles, tags, crates, and playlists.
CRATELAB is worth considering if you want a synced cloud library with playback across Linux, macOS, web, and Windows; its free tier includes browsing and streaming from that library.
CortexDJ is a macOS, web, and Windows option for home users who want AI auto-mix and mashups, live decks, mix rendering, and exports to rekordbox and Serato in its free plan.
AuraJam is a web alternative if export volume matters: its free plan permits five exports a day, while Pro is 9.99 USD per month.
DJ TITAN is a paid alternative for readers seeking a browser-based option; its TITAN Browser plan costs 20.00 USD per month.
Mixbridge is another option for readers who want a free app on iOS or web.

Verdict

Choose Offtrack if you want an automatic DJ for supported music services, especially on iOS, and value mixes that shorten and connect tracks without manual transition work. Free is enough to try Smart Mix and Smart Queue; Pro makes sense when limited highlights become a constraint. Look elsewhere if you need Windows support, broader Android playback controls, or full Spotify and Apple Music catalogues within the app.
