Overview

Nexaloom is a booking and business platform for salons, wellness businesses and other service providers, best suited to independent professionals and beauty businesses growing into small teams. Its free entry point and combination of booking, payments and commerce tools are appealing, but transaction fees apply on every plan and VAT is extra.

Key features

Booking and client communication

Clients can book online at any time against real-time availability, and appointment updates help keep visits current. Google Calendar, Outlook and iCal sync give businesses several ways to align schedules. Email reminders are included on Free; Starter and Pro include 50 reminder SMS per staff member. That allowance adds a text channel, but businesses sending more reminders will need to weigh the cap against their communication needs.

The beta AI booking assistant handles questions and bookings through WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and website chat. The channel range may help businesses serve clients where they already message, though its beta status makes it a less settled part of the offering. Homepage integrations include Stripe, Xero, Google Calendar, Klaviyo, Google Meet and Zoom.

Website, commerce and mobile

The website builder combines online booking and e-commerce with mobile-ready design and SEO tools. Custom domains are supported, so businesses can use a branded site for their services and sales. Nexaloom's iOS and Android app supports business bookings, calendar checks and payments, while clients can manage their visits.

Privacy and support

Across all plans, Nexaloom cites ICO registration, PCI DSS via Stripe, UK data residency, and coverage under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. It says it assesses sub-processors' privacy and security practices and uses data processing agreements consistent with UK GDPR Article 28. Customer support is included on every tier; Pro adds priority support.

Pricing

Nexaloom uses a freemium model. Every plan carries a 1.85% + 20p fee on payments taken through Nexaloom, and prices exclude VAT, so businesses should include both costs when estimating spend.

Free Plan — 0.00 GBP per month (billed £0 per month): one staff member, one location, unlimited appointments and email reminders. This suits an independent professional or small salon testing the service, but it does not include the stated SMS allowance of paid plans.
Starter Plan — 19.99 GBP per month (billed £19.99 per month): up to three staff and 50 reminder SMS per staff. This is the natural step for a growing beauty business that needs a small team and text reminders.
Pro Plan — 39.99 GBP per month (billed £39.99 per month): up to 10 staff, 50 reminder SMS per staff and priority customer support. It fits larger beauty businesses within that team limit, especially those that value faster support.

The free tier's one-person, one-location scope is a clear constraint for a team. Starter and Pro raise the staff ceiling, but the reminder allowance remains 50 SMS per staff on both, so Pro's additional capacity is chiefly its larger team allowance and priority support.

Platforms

Nexaloom is available on web, Android and iOS. That combination accommodates desktop administration and mobile access for businesses and clients.

Who it's for

Independent professionals and small salons can start with the free plan's unlimited appointments, while growing beauty businesses can move to Starter for up to three staff and SMS reminders. Pro is aimed at larger beauty businesses with up to 10 staff. Businesses that process payments through the platform should be comfortable with the per-transaction charge; those needing more than 50 SMS reminders per staff should consider whether the allowance fits.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free plan includes unlimited appointments, making it a useful starting point for a solo operator.
Pros: Booking, website commerce, mobile access and several calendar integrations cover multiple day-to-day needs in one platform.
Pros: UK data residency and stated UK privacy and payment-security coverage apply across all plans.
Cons: The 1.85% + 20p transaction fee applies on every plan, including Free, and VAT is excluded from plan prices.
Cons: Free is limited to one staff member and one location; paid plans cap reminder SMS at 50 per staff.
Cons: The AI booking assistant is in beta, so it is not the strongest basis for a decision where that capability is essential.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of site-focused options, see Salon Website Builders. Consider Dahree if a free booking website, 24/7 scheduling and basic booking and earnings analytics are the priority. OpenSlot is another free option, with core business tools during launch and 0% marketplace commission, though SMS is paid by usage.

Choose Salonized if its paid appointments plan and wider platform coverage suit your business better; its plan starts at 21.00 EUR per month, with annual billing available at a 10% discount. DaySmart Salon is a paid alternative with a Basic plan at 29.00 USD per month and online booking. GlossGenius may suit businesses seeking a custom booking website and unlimited client notifications; its Standard plan is 28.00 USD per month.

Avantiy, Jiinubi and SpaSphere are also alternatives to compare.

Verdict

Nexaloom is a strong fit for independent professionals and beauty businesses that want booking, client communication and commerce tools together, with a free way to begin and room to grow to 10 staff. Its broad channel and platform coverage is the main reason to choose it; the recurring transaction fee, VAT and reminder cap are the main reasons to look elsewhere if payment costs or high-volume messaging are decisive.
