Overview

Founded in 2005, Avature brings recruiting and talent management together on one platform. Its ATS is designed for complex processes spanning regions, brands, business units, and role types. A flexible data model and workflow engine let organizations adapt how they collect information and manage work, a meaningful advantage for varied operations—but one that calls for buyers to assess whether they need that configurability.

The platform extends beyond hiring to employee engagement, onboarding, internal mobility, learning and development, performance management, succession planning, and HR case management. That range can give large organizations a broader set of talent functions in one platform; organizations focused only on basic hiring may have little use for much of it.

Key features

Avature’s ATS supports configurable workflows, approvals, data capture, and hiring processes. Career sites, interview scheduling, and workflow automation add coverage for common recruiting operations. The practical strength is the ability to accommodate different hiring models across an organization rather than force every team into one process.

AI features include semantic search, candidate matching, applicant ranking, job recommendations, chatbot functionality, and configurable AI agents. These tools cover several points in the recruiting process, though buyers should judge their fit against their own recruiting practices and requirements.

Avature says its platform provides more than 300 out-of-the-box integrations, an open API framework, and self-service or full-service integration options. Its framework supports over 100,000 integration runs per month and processes millions of records daily. APIs include System, Bulk Import, Events, and SCIM-based User Management, alongside a REST API Builder. This capacity is geared to substantial integration needs, not a small team looking for a minimal standalone tool.

Security controls include SAML single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, IP allowlisting, role-based access, and full-disk and field-specific encryption. Avature says it holds ISO 27001, ISO 27017, SOC 1, and SOC 2 certifications and achieved FedRAMP Authorized status in April 2025. It also describes configurable privacy settings for regulations including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PIPEDA, PIPL, APPI, and the Australian Privacy Act. Its stated testing includes weekly automated vulnerability scans, third-party penetration tests twice a year, and more than 10,000 tests per release.

Hosting is available on Avature’s private cloud, with data centers in the US, Europe, and Asia, or on AWS public cloud worldwide. Technical support is offered in English, German, French, Spanish, and Mandarin, with customer cases tracked through a Customer Portal.

Pricing

Avature is paid software with custom pricing. Buyers must request pricing, so teams that need a published rate to compare costs or a self-serve purchase path should look elsewhere. The broad platform may suit organizations evaluating recruiting alongside talent management, but its price needs to be assessed against the scope they intend to use.

Platforms

Avature supports web, iOS, Android, and API access, giving organizations options across browser, mobile, and system integration use.

Who it's for

Avature is aimed at large enterprises and organizations working across global markets or highly competitive industries, particularly those with recruiting processes that vary by geography, brand, business unit, or role type. It is a stronger fit when those organizations also want talent-management functions beyond the ATS. A smaller employer with straightforward hiring needs is less likely to benefit from the platform’s breadth.

Pros and cons

Pros: Configurable recruiting processes can accommodate different organizational structures and hiring models.
Pros: Recruiting and a wide range of talent-management functions share one platform, giving enterprise buyers broader scope than an ATS alone.
Pros: More than 300 integrations, extensive API options, and private- or public-cloud hosting support complex enterprise environments.
Pros: A substantial set of access controls, certifications, privacy settings, and security testing practices addresses enterprise security needs.
Cons: Custom pricing means buyers cannot compare a published price before contacting Avature.
Cons: The enterprise orientation and broad set of functions can be excessive for teams with simple, uniform recruiting workflows.

Verdict

Avature is a strong candidate for large employers that need configurable, multi-region recruiting and want talent-management functions on the same platform. Its breadth, integration capacity, and hosting choices are the main reasons to shortlist it. Look elsewhere if you need a simple ATS or a published price for a straightforward purchase comparison.
