Overview

For restaurants, hotel outlets, casinos, and nightlife businesses, Avero brings standardized POS data into reporting intended to help operators assess performance. It is cloud-based and requires no Avero hardware, which keeps the setup focused on connecting existing systems rather than installing another on-site platform.

Avero says it maintains more than 40 integrations with POS and time-and-attendance systems, including Aloha, Clover, Square, Toast, and TouchBistro. A RESTful API and standardized data for Excel and other business intelligence tools also make it a plausible fit for groups that want to work beyond built-in reports. Its data extraction utility encrypts POS data during transfer; Avero notes that data protection also depends on the POS machine being PCI compliant.

Key features

Sales and operating reports

Starter provides a POS-connected logbook, check search, menu mix trends, payment breakdowns, group sales, scheduled email reports, and configurable dashboards. That is a useful baseline for managers who need regular visibility into sales patterns and transactions without committing to a paid tier.

Staff, labor, and revenue analysis

Essentials adds server and bartender performance metrics, individual scorecards, contest management, promotion and void breakdowns, and labor insights. These tools are more relevant to operators managing service performance than to owners looking only for top-line sales. Professional adds overtime tracking, labor-by-hour views, and payroll reporting and export, as well as hour-by-hour revenue analysis covering slow periods, table turns, special menus, and promotion uptake. That broader labor and revenue view is aimed at venues making staffing and service decisions around trading patterns.

Connections and access

Avero also identifies food-cost analysis, customer behavior analysis, multi-location reporting, forecasting, and data export as capabilities. Web access works on iOS and Android devices with an internet connection, and real-time mobile apps are offered for supported systems. Avero says Chrome and Firefox work best; Edge and Internet Explorer 11 or later are supported, while Safari and Internet Explorer 10 and below are not.

Pricing

Starter costs 0.00 USD per free and allows unlimited users and usage, with free POS integration for most common systems. Its lack of a charge and stated usage caps makes it an unusually accessible way to begin, though advanced server, labor, and revenue tools require a higher plan.

Essentials costs 300.00 USD per year, billed per location, with the price increasing based on annual sales volume. It is the natural step up for venues that need server scorecards and labor insights. Professional costs 600.00 USD per year, also per location and subject to increases based on annual sales volume; it fits operators who need overtime, payroll exports, and more granular revenue analysis. For multi-location businesses, per-location pricing and sales-volume increases are important to factor into the total, even though Starter allows any number of users and locations.

Platforms

Avero is available on Android, iOS, and the web. The web-based service needs an internet connection on mobile, and supported systems also have real-time mobile apps. Browser choice matters: Safari users will need another browser to access the web software.

Who it's for

Avero is best suited to food-and-beverage operators already using a supported POS system who want more than basic sales summaries. Starter can serve smaller operations seeking core reporting at no charge, while Essentials and Professional make more sense for venues and groups that will use staff, labor, and revenue analysis to guide decisions. Operators whose primary need is a different restaurant workflow rather than POS analytics should compare purpose-built alternatives.

Pros and cons

Broad reporting progression: Starter covers core sales views, while higher tiers add staff metrics, labor reporting, and hour-by-hour revenue analysis.
Useful integration and export options: More than 40 POS and time-and-attendance integrations, plus an API and standardized data for Excel and BI tools, can support existing reporting practices.
Free entry tier: Unlimited users and usage reduce adoption barriers for operators who can work within Starter's feature set.
Costs can grow by venue: Paid plans are priced per location and increase with annual sales volume, complicating budgeting for larger groups.
Browser limitation: Safari is unsupported for web access, so some users must switch browsers.

Alternatives

Restaurant Analytics Software is a useful starting point for comparing analytics-focused options. For a narrower focus on menu planning and profitability, consider Restaurant Menu Engineering Software.

Choose Meuze if its paid monthly Starter plan and free trial better suit your evaluation or purchasing approach. iammi is another paid option with a free trial and monthly, quarterly, or annual payment frequencies for a single location.

Lineup.ai is worth considering when automated AI-generated forecasts and labor allowance budgeting are the priority; its Forecasts Only plan is 79.00 USD per month per location. DishMath may suit groups looking for location roll-ups and quarterly analyst review, with a Group plan at 149.00 USD per month for 2–10 locations.

PAR Ordering is an alternative to consider for ordering needs. RestoStack offers paid restaurant tools, including a per-accepted-order RestoCater AI plan and a monthly RestoVoice AI plan. Rosnet Scheduling & Forecasting is another option in scheduling and forecasting. Novaryq is a paid Android and web option.

Verdict

Avero is a strong fit for operators who want POS-connected reporting that can grow from free sales tools into staff, labor, and revenue analysis. Its integration breadth and export options are compelling; look elsewhere if Safari access is essential or per-location pricing tied to sales volume does not fit your budget.
