Overview

BandLab Sounds is a royalty-free sample library for musicians who want to find sounds and build tracks in BandLab Studio. Its strongest case is the direct Studio connection and mobile access; the weekly claim limits and composition-only license make it less suitable for unrestricted sample collecting or standalone resale.

The library covers loops, samples, and one-shots, including vocal content. The Sounds website advertises more than 160,000 loops and one-shots. Members can browse Packs, Loops, and One-Shots, preview sounds, save favorites, and download them. Samples can be dragged into BandLab Studio, giving BandLab users a direct route from discovery to arranging a track.

My Sounds adds cloud storage for external samples, with organization and custom-tag search. Its 2 GB allocation and one-minute limit per upload make it useful for a modest, searchable personal collection, not a large archive. Supported formats are AAC, FLAC, M4A, MP3, and WAV.

Key features

Weekly claims: Each sound download consumes one claim. Allowances reset weekly and unused claims do not roll over, so the plan determines how quickly a growing project can draw from the library.
Studio workflow: Drag-and-drop into BandLab Studio favors creators already working in BandLab; it is less compelling if your workflow depends on another studio.
Personal collections: My Sounds accepts external samples and supports tags, but the 2 GB ceiling and one-minute per-file limit constrain what belongs there.
Commercial use: The non-exclusive, royalty-free license covers personal or commercial compositions when sounds form part of a larger composition. It prohibits redistributing or reselling BandLab Sounds as standalone samples.

Pricing

BandLab Sounds uses a freemium, credit-based download model. Free is free and allows 20 claims per week. That is a practical starting point for occasional sound selection, but not a large weekly download quota.

BandLab Pro costs 14.99 USD per month after a billed 3-day free trial, automatically renewing at $14.99/month. Its 100 weekly claims suit more regular sound browsing, though the allowance still resets without carrying unused claims forward.

BandLab Max costs 199.00 USD per year, billed at $199/year in the first year and $299/year thereafter, for 500 claims per week. It is the highest-volume option, but the renewal increase matters when comparing its longer-term cost. Choose by expected weekly downloads: paying for a bigger allowance is of little use if claims go unused.

Platforms

BandLab Sounds is available on Android, iOS, and the web through BandLab and Sounds Hubs. Mobile access makes the library reachable away from a desktop, while the drag-and-drop Studio workflow centers the product on BandLab’s own environment.

Who it's for

BandLab Sounds best fits BandLab users who want a broad source of loops and one-shots, especially those who value mobile browsing and a built-in path into Studio. The free plan gives occasional users a way to work within a 20-claim weekly ceiling. Creators who expect heavy downloads should compare the higher claim tiers against the renewal terms. Those needing larger external-sample storage, longer individual uploads, or standalone sample redistribution should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: More than 160,000 advertised loops and one-shots provide a wide starting pool for finding material.
Pro: Samples move directly into BandLab Studio, reducing friction for creators building tracks there.
Pro: My Sounds supports five audio formats plus custom-tag organization for personal samples.
Con: Claims are consumed per sound and expire at the weekly reset, which limits stockpiling value.
Con: My Sounds is capped at 2 GB and one minute per upload, restricting its usefulness for larger collections or longer audio.
Con: The commercial license requires sounds to be part of a larger composition and forbids standalone resale or redistribution.

99Sounds is a free alternative for people who want free sound libraries and plugins under its site license.
Loopcloud is another paid choice, with its Artist monthly plan at 7.99 USD per month for 100 points per month and 5 GB of cloud storage, plus a 14-day free trial.

Verdict

Choose BandLab Sounds if you want a substantial library that feeds directly into BandLab Studio, with mobile access and a free weekly allowance to start. Its main drawbacks are the non-rollover claim caps, modest My Sounds storage limits, and license restriction against standalone redistribution; users who need higher-volume collecting or broader sample rights should compare alternatives before committing.
