Overview

BannerBoo is a web editor for building advertising banners and animated creatives without coding. It is a good fit for marketers who need to adapt and publish ads in several formats; its broad output options are balanced by tight free-plan caps and export quotas on paid tiers.

Key features

The drag-and-drop editor brings images, text and animation together, while a smart animator automates motion. Paid plans also offer one-click animation. That combination can speed up production of animated ad variations, but BannerBoo is focused on advertising creatives rather than broader design work.

Exports include HTML5, AMPHTML, GIF, MP4, JPEG and PNG. Resizing, automatic resizing and brand controls help adapt creatives to different dimensions while maintaining campaign consistency. Users can publish to Google Ads and major ad networks, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter, embed banners on HTML or WordPress sites, or download an archive. Cloud storage provides a place to keep the work, though the free plan's 100 Mb allowance leaves little room for a large library.

Paid plans include an AI banner generator and credits; Pro and Plus add a limited number of AI background removals. These tools broaden the production workflow, but the credit and removal allowances mean that users creating assets at volume should compare tiers against their expected use. The support portal covers creation, animation, exports, subscriptions and team management.

Pricing

BannerBoo is freemium, with a seven-day trial and paid plans from $12/mo (annual). The Free plan is free and allows four banners, 15,000 embedded ad views, 100 Mb storage and one folder, with JPG/PNG exports. It is a way to try the workflow, but the banner, view and storage ceilings make it a poor fit for ongoing campaigns or richer export needs.

Start costs 15.00 USD per month and includes one editor, 15 MP4 exports of up to 30 seconds, 100 AI credits and banner resizing. It suits a solo marketer with modest video and AI needs; the single-editor seat and capped exports rule it out for a team or heavy video production. Pro is 29.00 USD per month, also for one editor, and raises the allowance to 30 MP4 exports of up to 60 seconds and 200 AI credits, with 20 AI background removals. It is better for an individual making more video ads or using background removal, but still has firm quotas. Plus costs 49.00 USD per month for one editor, unlimited MP4 exports, 500 AI credits and 50 AI background removals. The unlimited video allowance favors frequent production, though the single seat and finite AI allowances remain constraints. The listed paid prices are monthly; the annual starting price is distinct, and no annual terms are given for these individual tiers.

Platforms

BannerBoo runs on the web, so it suits browser-based creative work rather than users seeking a desktop or mobile application.

Who it's for

Freelancers, advertisers, small businesses, marketing professionals, teams and agencies can use BannerBoo to make and distribute ad creatives. Its strongest case is for an individual or small operation that values animation, resizing and multiple ad outputs in one web workflow. A larger group that needs multiple editor seats, or a production operation that exceeds the stated quotas, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: HTML5, AMPHTML, GIF, MP4 and image exports cover varied advertising placements; resizing and named publishing destinations simplify adapting and distributing creatives.
Pros: Cloud storage, site embedding and archive downloads offer several ways to keep or deliver banners.
Cons: Free use is limited to four banners, 15,000 embedded views and 100 Mb, with only JPG/PNG export.
Cons: Every priced tier provides one editor; Start and Pro cap MP4 exports, while even Plus limits AI credits and background removals.

Verdict

Choose BannerBoo if you are a solo advertiser or marketer who needs animated, resizeable banners and several export and publishing routes in a web editor. Its range of ad formats is the main reason to pick it; the single-editor seat on every priced plan and the capped exports and AI allowances are the clearest reasons to look elsewhere.
