Overview

Bannersnack is a browser-based platform for designing static banners, animated ads and rich media. It suits freelancers, designers and teams producing ads in several sizes and formats. Its strongest case is combining resizing, exports and review workflows; the free plan is too constrained for ongoing production.

Key features

The editor runs in a browser without an app installation. Automated resizing supports more than 50 sizes, while bulk creation and a brand kit are useful for repeat campaigns. The library includes 5,000+ design templates, 2,000+ animated templates, 3,000+ visual elements and over one million stock photos. That breadth can speed up starting work, though it does not remove the need to choose a plan that permits the output a project requires.

Exports include HTML5, MP4, GIF, PNG, JPG and PDF; feature pages also list AMPHTML. This makes the platform suitable for both static placements and animated ads, but export access varies by plan: Starter excludes animation and HTML5/GIF/MP4 export, while Pro includes those formats. Video upload is reserved for Plus.

Shared workspaces, comments, approvals, project statuses and labels give teams a way to coordinate review in the same service. API access can embed the editor into another platform. Bannersnack reports 99.99% average availability, but that is measured availability, not a contractual SLA. It says it uses TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest via AWS KMS. Data is processed in the United States under EU Standard Contractual Clauses; the service is GDPR-committed, while formal ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certification is under consideration. The absence of SSO and customer two-factor authentication is a meaningful drawback for organizations that require those controls.

Pricing

The free plan is free forever, but its 10-design lifetime cap and lack of HTML5/GIF/MP4 export or video uploads make it a sampler, not a workable ongoing production tier. It does allow JPG, PNG and static GIF export.

Starter: 12.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It allows 30 designs per month for one user, but excludes animations, Design Generator and video uploads. It fits light static work, not animated campaigns.
Pro: 32.00 USD per month, billed monthly. One user gets unlimited designs, animations and HTML5/GIF/MP4 export, but no video uploads. This is the clearest fit for an individual producing animated ads.
Plus: 42.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It includes unlimited designs for one user, client management, a custom branded URL, video uploads and priority support. It suits solo professionals who need client-facing features and video.
Small team: 49.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for three users and 10 workspaces with full feature access. It is the more practical choice than individual plans when several teammates need access.
Medium team: custom pricing. The plan is shown with six users, 15 workspaces and full feature access; its displayed price and billing figures conflict, so confirm commercial terms before committing.

A 7-day trial is offered. Plans include help-center and live-chat access; Plus adds priority support, and enterprise contracts can include priority support with a defined SLA. The advertised paid-from figure is 7 /mo, but the listed individual plan prices begin at 12.00 USD per month, so check the applicable offer and billing terms before purchase.

Platforms

Bannersnack is available on the web and via API. The browser editor avoids installation, and API access supports embedding it into another platform.

Who it's for

Freelancers and designers making recurring ad variations should consider Pro if animation and richer exports matter. Small agencies or companies that need shared workspaces, approvals and multiple seats are better matched to team plans. It is less suitable for organizations that require SSO or customer two-factor authentication, or for occasional users who expect the free tier to support substantial production.

Pros and cons

Pros: Resizing across more than 50 sizes, bulk creation and a brand kit support repeat ad production rather than one-off graphics.
Pros: A wide range of static and animated export formats, plus team comments and approvals, brings creative output and review into one workflow.
Cons: The free tier stops at 10 lifetime designs and excludes key animated exports, limiting its usefulness beyond initial evaluation.
Cons: Starter has a monthly design cap and no animations; video uploads require Plus, so the lower-cost options involve real workflow compromises.
Cons: No SSO or customer two-factor authentication may rule it out for teams with stricter access-control requirements.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Banner Design Software.

PosterMyWall is worth considering if mobile access matters: it supports Android, iOS and web, and its free plan includes downloads, templates and publishing to one social account.
BannerBoo may suit a reader who wants a free tier measured in banners and embedded ad views, with JPG/PNG export.
DigiLakshya Ad Studio offers a free plan with sample-size designs, batch-size limits and hosted-link quotas, which may suit users whose workflow centers on those outputs.
Visme is another web-based option, also available on Windows, macOS and iOS; its Basic plan has 500MB storage and a 50-slide/page project cap.
BannerNow has a free plan for 10 animated or static ads, with team, workspace and feed-source limits.
TweenUI offers a free plan for personal, non-business use.
EasyBanner is a Windows option with a free version and a one-time-priced premium plan.
Google Web Designer is free to download and use for business, and runs on Linux, macOS and Windows.

Verdict

Choose Bannersnack if you regularly create banner variations and want resizing, animated exports and team review together in a browser. Pro is the sensible starting point for a solo user who needs animation; teams should compare seat needs and confirm terms. Look elsewhere if a small free allowance is not enough to validate the workflow or if SSO and customer two-factor authentication are requirements.
