Overview

Upload a Bedrock .mcworld or Java Edition .zip world, up to 20GB, and BedrockMap maps the Overworld, Nether, and End. The 2D viewer supports panning, zooming, touch gestures, coordinates, and switching dimensions. You can adjust block colors, render size, zoom scale, grid display, thumbnails, and marker styles, giving casual explorers and map makers meaningful control over the result.

Public sharing links are available on Free, while Premium adds private maps for the owner and authorized users. BedrockMap says uploaded world data is not shared with third parties. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang.

Key features

Mapping and customization

Mapping all three dimensions makes BedrockMap useful for worlds where a single surface view is not enough. Render-area and zoom controls let users choose between a broad overview and a more detailed view, while grid, thumbnail, color, and marker settings support tailored maps. The free render limit and standard quality without shadows make it better for occasional or exploratory use than repeated high-detail publishing.

Server features

Premium includes live player tracking and marker creation through in-game addons or plugins for Bedrock and Java servers. Java setup guides cover Paper, Spigot, and Fabric. Bedrock server operators should note the important restriction: the Premium addon requires a Bedrock Dedicated Server and does not work with Realms or single-player worlds.

Premium Auto-Sync can retrieve server backups using SFTP, FTP, or FTPS, or receive API Push uploads from a server script. Timelines preserve earlier renders as separate versions for later review and comparison. For credential protection, SFTP/FTP passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM; API Push keys remain on the user's server while BedrockMap stores a hash. Setup tokens expire after 15 minutes and can be used once.

Pricing

BedrockMap has a free plan and a 7-day trial. Free costs $0/forever and allows one world upload, a 1,500x1,500-block render area, two renders per day, three zoom levels, public sharing links, standard quality without shadows, normal queue priority, and BedrockMap branding. It is a practical starting point, but its small render area and daily quota limit frequent or large-world use.

Premium is billed monthly at $4/month, shown as $5/month with 20% savings. It raises the allowance to 10 world uploads, a 30,000x30,000-block render area, 20 renders per day, and up to seven zoom levels. It also adds unlimited markers, HD quality with shadows, live player tracking, private maps, high-priority rendering, file retention, and removes branding. Premium suits regular map creators and server operators; occasional users may find the free limits adequate.

Premium can be canceled anytime, with access continuing through the current billing period. The pricing note also says paid plans start at $5/month. Support is offered through BedrockMap's guides and an invitation to contact the service for additional assistance.

Platforms

BedrockMap lists Android, iOS, Linux, web, and Windows. Its map viewer is web-based, while the supported platforms indicate a broad range of access options.

Who it's for

Choose BedrockMap if you want customizable web maps for Bedrock and Java worlds, need to share a map, or run a compatible server and value tracking, markers, syncing, or saved render versions. It is less suitable if you rely on Minecraft Realms or a single-player Bedrock world for the Premium addon, or if you need more than 20 renders a day.

Pros and cons

Pros: Supports both Bedrock and Java uploads up to 20GB and maps all three dimensions, giving users flexibility across editions and world areas.
Pros: Extensive map controls and a free public-sharing option make it useful before committing to Premium.
Pros: Premium combines live tracking, Auto-Sync, private maps, and versioned renders for server-focused workflows.
Cons: Free is limited to one upload, two daily renders, a 1,500x1,500-block area, three zoom levels, and maps branded with the service.
Cons: The Bedrock Premium addon excludes Realms and single-player worlds, narrowing its value for many Bedrock players.
Cons: Premium's 20-renders-per-day cap remains a constraint for users who publish or refresh maps very frequently.

Mapcrafter is free and GPL-licensed; choose it if its Anvil world-format requirement and Minecraft 1.6 resource-pack requirement fit your setup.
The Explorer's Friend is a free, MIT-licensed server-side Minecraft map mod or plugin for readers seeking that kind of server integration.
BlueMap is a free alternative for Java Edition worlds; its server plugin or mod requires Java 25+, while standalone CLI documentation lists Java 21+.
mcview is a free GPLv3 option for readers whose platform needs are covered by iOS, macOS, or Windows.
squaremap is a free Minecraft server plugin or mod if your server runs on a supported platform.

Verdict

BedrockMap is a strong fit for players and server operators who want customizable maps across Bedrock and Java, with Premium adding useful live and synchronization tools. Choose it for broad world support and map control; look elsewhere if you need an uncapped render workflow or Bedrock server features for Realms or single-player worlds.
