Overview

Board I.V. brings agendas, packets, minutes, motions, votes, tasks, documents and compliance dates into one workspace. That breadth can help nonprofits keep board work connected instead of scattering decisions and reminders across separate tools. Agenda items can include documents and owners, and meeting notes can be converted into formal minutes with motions and vote counts.

Members can reach agendas, packets and tasks from an email link on a phone without installing software, a useful accommodation for occasional participants. Zoom integration is described; links for Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex or another provider can be added manually, which means those meetings require an extra step.

Key features

Decisions and follow-through

Motions and polls retain a digital vote record and audit trail. Passed motions can become tasks with an owner and date, giving boards a direct path from a recorded decision to assigned work. This is especially useful for groups that need accountability after meetings, though the platform's value depends on keeping board activity in one place.

Compliance tracking

Reminders cover 990 filing dates, state registrations, board terms, conflict-of-interest disclosures and D&O renewals. For nonprofits managing recurring governance obligations, that focused calendar can reduce reliance on separate reminders. Board I.V. also supports committee management.

Access and security

Board I.V. says data is encrypted in transit and at rest, scoped to each organization, and not sold or used to train outside models. Only invited people can access data, and roles govern access to financials, evaluations and compliance records. Those protections may suit groups with ordinary board privacy needs, but the service says it is not intended for organizations that currently require SOC 2 attestation, HIPAA BAAs or SSO.

Pricing

Board I.V. has a free tier and a 14-day Professional trial that requires no credit card. After the trial, accounts switch to Free unless upgraded.

Free: 0.00 USD per month, billed $0/month, for 1–3 members with 500MB storage. It is suited to a small board trying the core workflow, but the member and storage caps constrain larger groups.
Standard: 39.00 USD per month, billed $39/month or $390/year (2 months free), for up to 15 members and 10GB storage. Extra seats cost $5/mo. This is the practical fit for a growing nonprofit within that membership limit.
Professional: 89.00 USD per month, billed $89/month or $890/year (2 months free), with unlimited members and 100GB storage. Its higher capacity suits multi-committee boards or larger groups that outgrow Standard.

The paid plans share the same stated storage and seat trade-off: Standard costs less but caps membership and storage, while Professional removes the member ceiling and provides ten times the storage. Groups needing more than 15 members must account for the $5/mo extra-seat charge on Standard or move to Professional.

Platforms

Board I.V. supports Android, iOS and web. Phone access through an email link without software installation is a practical advantage for board members who do not want another app.

Who it's for

The platform is designed for nonprofit boards, churches, social service agencies, schools, foundations, associations and volunteer-run groups. Its combination of meeting records, votes, assigned tasks and compliance reminders is most compelling when these responsibilities sit with the same board. Organizations whose security requirements include SOC 2 attestation, HIPAA BAAs or SSO should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Agenda materials, formal minutes, recorded votes and owned follow-up tasks form a connected governance workflow.
Pro: Compliance reminders cover several recurring nonprofit obligations, including 990 dates and D&O renewals.
Pro: Email-link access on phones avoids requiring software installation for board members.
Con: Standard is capped at 15 members unless extra seats are added at $5/mo each; larger boards may need Professional.
Con: Organizations requiring SOC 2 attestation, HIPAA BAAs or SSO are outside the stated fit.
Con: Zoom is the described integration; other meeting providers require links to be added manually.

Alternatives

Nonprofit Board Management Software is a useful place to compare options across the category.

BoardSite is worth considering for a group whose needs fit its free plan of up to 5 users, 10 documents and 1 vote per month; its free tier has explicit document and voting caps.

Board Management offers a lifetime free account for up to 3 members and desktop platforms, so it may suit a very small group that wants a no-cost account and uses macOS or Windows.

BoardKite is a web-based alternative with a free plan for 3 users and a Core plan at 39.00 EUR per month for up to 10 members; consider it if those seat limits and its meeting, AI agenda planning, minutes, decisions and action-task scope fit the board.

BoardSpot has no free plan and starts with an Essentials plan at 105.00 USD per month, with unlimited document storage, unlimited committees and no additional per-user cost. It may suit a group prioritizing those capacity terms over a free entry tier.

CivicCA is a paid alternative with a Professional plan covering up to 5 bodies and 25 users, with video integration and department submissions; its price is presented at purchase.

NonprofitBOD has a free forever plan for one board and up to 5 members, including a compliance calendar, meeting materials, a task queue and document library. It may fit a small nonprofit seeking those functions on a permanently free tier.

Boardable is a paid alternative with an Essentials plan starting at 20.99 USD per year, billed annually at $251.88, and includes 1,000 files, 5 meeting guests, 10 groups and 4 survey sends; consider it if those stated allowances match the organization's needs.

Easy Board is another paid alternative.

Verdict

Board I.V. is a strong choice for a small or growing nonprofit that wants meeting records, voting, task ownership and compliance reminders tied together, with phone access that asks little of volunteer board members. The free tier gives the smallest boards a way to start, while Standard and Professional scale up by membership and storage. Choose another platform if your organization requires SOC 2 attestation, HIPAA BAAs or SSO, or if manually handling non-Zoom meeting links is an unwelcome extra step.
