Overview

BetterWorld is web-based fundraising software for nonprofits and other community-serving organizations. It is a strong fit for groups running multiple kinds of campaigns that also want donor records in the same system. Its broad toolkit is appealing, but payment-processing fees apply on every plan and some tiers add platform fees.

Key features

The platform combines auctions, donation forms, events and ticketing, giveaways and raffles, peer-to-peer fundraising, crowdfunding, paddle raises, impact giving, a-thons, and standard donations. Recurring gifts are supported, and every plan includes all fundraising tools, unlimited campaigns, and unlimited teammates. That makes the free tier unusually broad in scope; the meaningful plan differences are fees, support, and additional services rather than campaign or seat caps.

BetterWorld automatically organizes donations, interactions, and insights in a unified donor system, with advanced campaign reporting. This pairing suits organizations that want to connect fundraising activity with donor records rather than manage those functions separately. Online and event checkout supports cards, digital wallets, and bank transfers.

BetterWorld says it offers 5,000+ integrations, including native connections to Stripe, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, HubSpot, Salesforce, DonorPerfect, and Blackbaud. Zapier connections include Mailchimp, Google Sheets, Slack, Constant Contact, VolunteerHub, Eventbrite, and Google Drive. That breadth can help organizations fit the platform into established workflows. The platform also states that it is PCI-compliant, uses bank-level encryption, and does not sell donor data.

Support includes live chat, human assistance, and event-day backup; paid priority support adds expedited phone, email, and chat. That event-day backup is a practical advantage for organizations whose fundraising depends on live events, though it does not remove transaction charges.

Pricing

Free is free, with a 0% platform fee; standard payment processing fees still apply. Since it includes the full fundraising toolkit, unlimited campaigns, and unlimited teammates, it is the clearest starting point for organizations that want to avoid a platform fee while keeping campaign options open.

Flex also is free, but carries a 2.2-5% platform fee plus standard processing fees. It offers no stated campaign or teammate limits beyond the shared plan inclusions, so organizations should compare its platform charge carefully against Free before choosing it.

Partner costs 1550.00 USD per year, billed $129/mo, billed annually. It lowers the platform fee to 1.25%, while standard processing fees remain, and adds priority support and automatic payouts. It is better suited to organizations that value those services and can justify the annual commitment than to small groups seeking the lowest transaction cost.

Keystone costs 5950.00 USD per year, billed $495/mo, billed annually. It has a 1% platform fee and includes concierge support for 1 event, CRM Integration Plus, an annual strategic review, and 10,000 SMS credits, alongside standard processing fees. This tier is aimed at organizations that can use the added CRM, strategic, and event support; the annual price is difficult to justify if those additions are unnecessary.

Standard payment processing fees of 1.5%-2.9% + $0.30 apply across plans. Donors can choose to cover these fees, but organizations should still assess their total transaction costs when comparing tiers.

Platforms

BetterWorld is available on the web. Organizations requiring Android or iOS access should consider another option.

Who it's for

BetterWorld identifies charities and nonprofits, schools and PTOs, sports teams and clubs, and community-serving individuals and businesses as audiences. Its combination of event and online fundraising, recurring donations, donor management, and unlimited campaigns suits groups with varied fundraising needs. Smaller organizations can start on Free, while teams needing payouts, priority service, CRM additions, or strategic support may have reason to consider the paid plans.

Pros and cons

Pro: Every plan includes all fundraising tools, unlimited campaigns, and unlimited teammates, so free users are not restricted by campaign volume or staff seats.
Pro: Fundraising, donor tracking, and advanced campaign reporting sit together, supporting teams that want donor context alongside campaign activity.
Pro: Native payment, CRM, and other connections plus a broad Zapier catalog can accommodate a range of existing systems.
Con: Standard processing fees apply even on Free, and Flex adds a 2.2-5% platform fee.
Con: Partner and Keystone require annual payments of 1550.00 USD and 5950.00 USD respectively, which may be excessive for organizations that do not need their added services.
Con: The platform is web-only, which rules it out for organizations that need a dedicated mobile app.

Alternatives

Givebutter is worth considering for organizations seeking a free plan with fundraising pages, events, auctions, donor management, and apps for Android and iOS; it also offers a free trial.

Amply may be a better fit when matching-gift software is the priority, with a free, feature-limited plan, a Standard plan priced at 5.00 USD per contact, and custom pricing.

GoFundMe Pro is another freemium option, with its Essentials plan aimed at nonprofits with annual revenue under $1 million and no subscription or setup costs.

Whitelabel may suit organizations that prefer per-gift pricing, unlimited campaigns and donors, and no monthly fee, setup fee, or contract.

Better Giving is an alternative for organizations that value public code and the option to self-host with their own payment gateway.

Anthology Encompass is another paid option with Android, iOS, and web platforms.

DonorOS is a paid web-based alternative built by Jeremy Estrella, a former Associate Vice President and Dean at Portland Community College.

GivingFuel offers a Starter plan at 9.00 USD per month for annual online giving under $100,000, with a 2% platform fee and one admin account; its All-In plan costs 59.00 USD per month for annual online giving under $1M and a 1% platform fee.

Organizations comparing specialized categories can also browse Nonprofit Matching Gift Software, Charity Auction Software, Nonprofit Event Management Software, Nonprofit Online Donation Software, Fundraising Event Software, and Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Software.

Verdict

BetterWorld is a sensible choice for nonprofits and community organizations that need a wide range of fundraising formats, unified donor tracking, and room for unlimited campaigns and teammates. Its main draw is that breadth across every plan; its main caution is the combination of standard processing charges and, on some tiers, platform fees. Choose Free when keeping platform costs at zero matters most, and look elsewhere if mobile apps or a different fee structure is essential.
