Overview

Zoho Inventory brings purchase and sales orders, stock alerts, inventory synchronization, and multi-warehouse management into one service. Teams can transfer stock between warehouses and generate location-specific reports, while serial and batch tracking covers spare parts, saleable goods, and expiry dates. Zoho says it serves businesses from MSMEs to large-scale corporations; in practice, the right fit depends on whether the plan’s order, user, and location caps match the operation.

Barcode scanners support SKUs, serial and batch numbers, and sales and purchase orders. The combination is useful for businesses that need more control than a basic stock count, though teams should check that their scanners and workflows suit their requirements.

Zoho Inventory is made in India for a global market; its maker, Zoho, was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Chennai. For a wider category comparison, browse Inventory Management Software.

Key features

Orders, stock, and warehouse control

Purchase orders, sales orders, stock alerts, and inventory synchronization support routine stock operations. Central warehouse control, transfers, and warehouse-specific reporting are useful when stock is spread across locations. The listed warehouse allowance ranges from two on Standard to ten on Enterprise, so a business operating in more than two locations must move beyond Standard.

GST and integrations

GST tools cover GSTINs, HSN/SAC codes, compliant invoices, automated tax calculation, e-Way bills, and delivery challans. These features make the service especially relevant to businesses managing Indian tax workflows. Integrations include Amazon, Shopify, Zoho Books, Zoho CRM, Stripe, PayPal, Slack, and Google Workspace, offering connections across commerce, finance, and workplace tools.

Mobile work and support

iOS and Android apps provide real-time order-status updates while users manage and fulfill orders on the go; a Windows offering is also available. Product experts provide support 24x5, with India contact hours Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM IST. Forums, webinars, documentation, FAQs, blogs, developer resources, and partners add options for self-service and implementation help.

Pricing

Zoho Inventory has a free plan and paid plans with yearly billing marked as saving 20%. Listed prices exclude GST. The pricing note says paid plans start at $29/mo (annual), while the plan prices below are shown in USD per organization per month with yearly pricing; readers should compare the stated billing terms before choosing.

Plan	Price	Monthly order cap	Users	Locations
Free	₹0 per organization per month	50 orders and invoices; 20 purchase orders and bills	1	1
Standard	$39.00 USD per month	500	3	2
Premium	$99.00 USD per month	3,000	5	4
Plus	$159.00 USD per month	7,500	10	6
Enterprise	$299.00 USD per month	15,000	10	10

The Free plan’s 50 orders and invoices and 20 purchase orders and bills per month, together with one user and one location, suit a small operation testing the workflow, not a team with sustained volume. Standard raises the order cap to 500 and supports three users across two locations, but remains restrictive for larger teams. Premium expands to 3,000 orders, five users, four locations, and 500 bins per location; Plus allows 7,500 orders, ten users, and six locations, also with 500 bins per location. Enterprise raises the cap to 15,000 orders and ten locations, with 5,000 bins per location, but does not increase the ten-user limit.

A 14-day trial is available. Plans include API access ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 calls per day, so integrations with heavier API needs should account for tier limits. The plan information also identifies bank feeds, automated reconciliation, invoice creation, receipt capture, and accountant access.

Platforms

Zoho Inventory is available through Windows and iOS and Android apps. The mobile apps support order management and fulfillment away from a desktop, while real-time status updates help keep mobile users informed.

Who it's for

Zoho Inventory is a strong fit for businesses that need orders, stock tracking, barcode support, and warehouse operations together, particularly those using GST workflows or the listed commerce and business integrations. The free plan can suit a single user with modest monthly volume. Businesses with more locations, users, or orders can step up through the paid tiers, but should match their requirements to the plan caps before committing.

It is less suitable for a business that needs more than ten users on a single plan, or one whose monthly order volume exceeds the Enterprise cap of 15,000. A team needing only a very small item catalog may also find a lighter inventory tool more proportionate.

Pros and cons

Pros: Barcode, serial, and batch tracking cover SKUs, orders, and expiry dates, helping teams identify stock beyond simple counts.
Pros: Warehouse transfers and location-specific reporting support multi-site stock control, with higher tiers scaling to ten locations.
Pros: GST workflows include compliant invoices, tax calculation, e-Way bills, and delivery challans, alongside iOS and Android order management.
Cons: The free tier is capped at 50 orders and invoices and 20 purchase orders and bills monthly, with just one user and one location.
Cons: Paid prices exclude GST, and the listed plan user ceiling stays at ten even on Enterprise.

Verdict

Zoho Inventory is a practical choice for businesses that need coordinated order processing, stock tracking, GST tools, and warehouse management, with a free entry tier and room to scale. Choose it when its plan caps and integrations fit the operation; look elsewhere if ten users or 15,000 monthly orders will not be enough, or if the free tier’s narrow quotas are too limiting.
