Overview

Birch brings campaign automation and reporting together for teams handling ongoing paid-media work. Its roots are in Revealbot, which the company says it founded in New York City in 2016 before rebranding as Birch in 2024. Birch Hub is a related server-side tracking product that collects events through a first-party pixel and gateway server and sends them to Meta via CAPI.

Key features

Automation and campaign creation

Rules allow nested AND/OR conditions, custom metrics and more than 20 actions, with checks as often as every 15 minutes. That makes Birch a credible fit for teams with specific operating logic and frequent performance-based adjustments, rather than advertisers who only need occasional campaign changes. Birch AI drafts rules from natural-language requests, but leaves them for review before they go live—a useful check when automation affects live campaigns.

Launcher creates multiple ad sets at once, with up to 50 ads in each. It can reduce repetitive setup for teams launching batches, though the value is less clear for small accounts with few ads. Birch can also automatically turn qualifying Instagram and Facebook organic posts into ads according to custom conditions, connecting organic publishing with paid promotion.

Reporting and integrations

Scheduled cross-platform reports and white-label reports with client branding are practical strengths for agencies and teams that report to clients. Integrations include Slack, Google Analytics, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Adjust, Hyros, Wicked Reports and AppsFlyer. The supported advertising platforms named by Birch are Meta, Instagram, Google Ads, Snapchat Ads and TikTok Ads, offering coverage across social and search workflows.

Birch's data processing agreement describes encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access controls and AWS-hosted production systems. The company says workspace data used by Birch AI is processed to answer requests and is not used to train external AI models.

Pricing

Birch has no free plan. A 14-day free trial requires no credit card, and users can cancel anytime; when it ends, automated rules and reports are disabled until a plan is selected. That is enough time to evaluate workflows, but not a way to keep the central automation and reporting functions running without paying.

Essential starts at $49.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with annual billing offered at 20% off. It includes workspaces with Overview, post boosting, reports, an Activity page, Slack integration and email support. Spend-based pricing varies with monthly ad spend across connected accounts, so the starting price is not a universal rate. Essential fits teams focused on reporting and post boosting, but it excludes automated rules and strategies, Explorer and Launcher.

Pro starts at $99.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with annual billing offered at 20% off. Its listed inclusions build on Essential with automated rules and strategies, Explorer, Launcher, custom metrics and timeframes, among other features. This is the more relevant tier for teams buying Birch specifically to automate campaign decisions and batch launches; spend-based pricing still means the actual cost varies with ad spend.

Enterprise has custom pricing and is positioned for organizations needing no limits or overages, a custom Stage limit, onboarding and technical setup help, and premium support. Birch Hub is priced separately by event volume: 10,000 events/mo per gateway is free; 500,000 events/mo is $10.00 USD per month; 5,000,000 is $49.00 USD per month; 20,000,000 is $149.00 USD per month; 50,000,000 is $249.00 USD per month; and 150,000,000 is $499.00 USD per month. The free Hub tier is capped at 10,000 events per gateway, while larger gateways carry monthly charges.

Platforms

Birch is available on web and iOS. Its listed advertising platforms include Meta, Instagram, Google Ads, Snapchat Ads and TikTok Ads.

Who it's for

Birch is strongest for performance marketing teams and agencies managing sustained, multi-platform campaigns, especially those that can make use of custom rules, repeated launches and branded reporting. It is a weaker fit for occasional advertisers, teams that need ongoing free access to automation, or buyers whose workflow does not justify spend-based pricing.

Pros and cons

Pros: Detailed rule logic, custom metrics and checks as often as every 15 minutes support tightly managed campaigns.
Pros: Launcher, automatic post boosting and white-label reporting cover several recurring tasks in one product.
Pros: The 14-day trial needs no credit card, and AI-generated rules remain drafts for review.
Cons: There is no free plan, and rules and reports are disabled after the trial until a paid plan is chosen.
Cons: Essential starts at $49.00 USD per month but does not include automated rules or Launcher; Pro starts at $99.00 USD per month.
Cons: Spend-based pricing varies with connected-account ad spend, making the starting price an incomplete guide to a team's eventual bill.

Alternatives

RedTrack is worth considering when attribution is the priority and a no-expiry free plan matters: its free Relay tier includes one store or website and one user, but no ad-level spend sync. Madgicx is another paid option with a free trial, and may suit buyers comparing an advertising tool that combines automation, targeting, analytics and ad management.

Attensify is a better match for social content workflows that need a free tier with three channels, 50 AI-generated posts per month and basic analytics. GetChannel offers a free plan for a small reporting setup: one workspace, up to three connected channels, seven days of data history and one team member.

AdRoll offers a no-fee starting point for account-based retargeting, with media paid separately. HiConversion is another freemium alternative. AdEspresso may suit Facebook and Instagram advertisers seeking a defined Starter plan with a $1,000 monthly spend limit and unlimited ad accounts. Flow Orah is another paid alternative.

Verdict

Choose Birch if your performance team needs configurable paid-media rules, batch campaign creation and client-ready reporting, and can justify a spend-based subscription. Its main advantage is the breadth of recurring campaign work in one workflow; its main drawback is that the most compelling automation features require Pro or higher, with no lasting free plan to bridge the gap.
