Overview

Events.org brings registration, donations, donor stewardship, and auctions into one service. Registration pages can be branded, collect custom answers, support group sign-ups, and issue automated receipts. QR check-in and mobile registration are useful for event-day operations, and attendees can use registration pages on mobile without downloading an app.

Payment choices include debit or credit card, with check or invoice payment possible later. Guests can cover processing fees on ticket transactions, which may reduce the organizer’s fee burden. Stored card information is protected with industry-standard encryption, and payment data is handled and stored by Authorize.net. Events.org says it has not disclosed, sold, or shared personal information for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding 12 months and says it will not sell or share it in the future.

Key features

Donor management covers donor records, recurring donations, thank-you messages, email campaigns, reminders, and real-time reports. That makes the platform relevant beyond a single event, especially for nonprofits that want follow-up and giving activity alongside event registration. Database integrations include Raiser's Edge and QuickBooks.

The iBid service supports auction item solicitation and catalogs, mobile bidding, participant SMS messages, and auction materials. Nonprofits running charity auctions can manage bidding as part of their event setup rather than relying solely on registration tools. The wider fundraising toolkit also includes online donations, raffles, pledges, peer-to-peer fundraising, and event fundraising.

Customer support is offered by phone, chat, email, and an online ticketing system. Campaign reporting is advanced, and payment processing is separate, so organizations should account for transaction costs as well as any subscription.

Pricing

Events.org uses a freemium model. Promote & free events is free. It includes promotion on Events.org and partner sites, free-event hosting, attendee and registration tracking, and automated thank-you letters and receipting. This is a sensible starting point for organizations that do not need paid ticket sales; it does not include the paid-ticket plan’s ticketing terms.

Sell tickets online costs 1.00 USD per once, billed at 3.5% + $1 per transaction, not per ticket. It includes unlimited custom tickets and promo codes, sponsorships, pre-event registration, and the option for guests to cover processing fees. Business events are charged 5% + $1 per transaction. The per-transaction structure matters when multiple tickets are bought in one transaction, while the higher business-event rate makes this plan less attractive for commercial events.

Non-profit fundraising suite costs 100.00 USD per month, billed per admin user; monthly plans are processed in 30 days. It includes advanced ticketed-event tools, donor management, online donations, iBid online and mobile charity auctions, and membership and volunteer management, with 3.5% + $1 processing per transaction. The per-admin subscription can add up for larger teams, so this plan is best suited to nonprofits that will use its donor, auction, and broader management tools rather than just registration. Payment processing remains an additional cost.

Platforms

Events.org is available on web, Android, and iOS. Registration pages work on mobile devices without requiring a download, which helps attendees register from their phones without installing an app.

Who it's for

Events.org is aimed at nonprofits, including vetted nonprofits that may use Global Charitable Fund fiscal sponsorship. It is a stronger fit for organizations combining ticketed events with donations, donor follow-up, or auctions than for groups needing only a basic ticket checkout.

Pros and cons

Broad nonprofit fundraising coverage: Registration, donor records, recurring gifts, online donations, and iBid auctions can support several parts of a fundraising program in one platform.
Useful event operations: Group registration, custom questions, QR check-in, receipts, and mobile pages address both signup and attendance needs.
More than one cost to track: Ticket transactions carry percentage-plus-fixed fees, and the full suite adds a monthly charge per admin user.
Best value depends on breadth of use: The $100.00 USD per month suite is harder to justify for an organization that will not use donor management, auctions, or the other included tools.

Alternatives

Givebutter is another freemium option with a free-forever plan that includes donation forms, fundraising pages, events, auctions, and donor management and CRM. It is worth comparing when that combination is the priority.

Auctria offers a free Explorer plan capped at $10,000 total income per year, 250 bidders per event, and 3 team members, with unlimited events and a 1% credit card fee. It may suit a smaller auction program able to work within those caps.

GiveSmart offers paid plans with unlimited events and campaigns, making it an alternative for organizations considering a paid event-and-campaign platform.

iConnectX offers free nonprofit hosted events, with only transaction fees applying; credit card fees are 2.29% + $0.15 per transaction. Its support packages cost extra, so it may suit nonprofits prioritizing a free self-serve starting point.

Enthuse has a free Mass Participation plan at 0.00 GBP per month, with a 0% platform fee and payment provider fee of 1.9% + 30p. It is an option for organizations comparing a free participation-focused plan and its stated payment and Gift Aid fees.

Eventgroove Fundraising has a free Tip Pricing plan with no service fee if donors do not tip, and auctions carry a 4.9% fee per item capped at $100. It may appeal to groups weighing optional donor tips against Events.org’s transaction-based ticket and suite charges.

GiveGrove offers a free GiveBack Guarantee plan with no platform fee and processing fees of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. It is worth comparing when avoiding platform fees is the main consideration.

32auctions has a free plan for online auctions, capped at 20 items and one image per item, with unlimited bidders and basic donor management. It may fit a small, self-managed auction that does not need Events.org’s broader event and fundraising suite.

Verdict

Events.org is a strong choice for nonprofits that want event registration tied to donor management, giving, and charity auctions. Its main advantage is the range of fundraising work it brings together; its main drawback is the combination of transaction fees and a per-admin monthly suite charge. Choose it when your organization will use that breadth, and look elsewhere if you need only low-cost ticketing or a small auction tool.
