Overview

Brankas is an open-finance and Banking-as-a-Service platform for banks, financial institutions, and technology companies building financial products. It is best suited to organizations that need regional bank connections alongside data and payment APIs. Its breadth is useful, but institution-level coverage and custom pricing make it a poor fit for buyers who need predictable costs or guaranteed access to a particular bank.

Brankas reports integrations with more than 80 financial institutions and partners across six markets. Its coverage page includes institutions in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, with supported products and availability differing by institution. For a broader category view, see Bank Connectivity Software.

Key features

Financial data: APIs retrieve account and transaction data from multiple institutions through one integration. Balance, Statement, Income, and Expense products cover common financial-data needs; investment data and transaction enrichment are also offered. This can reduce the burden of connecting to each institution separately, though actual access depends on institution coverage.
Payments: Direct supports account-to-account transfers and payments. Disburse automates transfers from corporate bank accounts, individually or in bulk from a dashboard, and Brankas says it does not hold customers’ money. That distinction may matter to businesses evaluating payment flows and custody responsibilities.
Open finance suite: The Open Finance Suite combines open banking, open-finance compliance, and Banking-as-a-Service capabilities through an API hub. Cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployment options give organizations with different infrastructure requirements room to choose, but an implementation project is described as taking 8–12 weeks.
Developer access: Developers can generate API keys in the Brankas Dashboard for sandbox and live environments. The Tap SDKs for Android and iOS can launch an embedded WebView for Brankas product flows in mobile apps.
Integrations and security: Brankas says it is compatible with most core banking systems and technology stacks. It cites HTTPS and encryption, ISO 27001 certification, PCI-DSS certification or compliance, and says it does not store end-user credentials. It also describes regular audits by financial regulators.
Implementation support: Brankas offers implementation through its certified team or an approved systems integration partner, and describes one-to-one post-sales support for the Open Finance Suite. That assistance can benefit teams managing a complex launch, though it does not remove the need to plan for a multi-week implementation.

Pricing

Brankas is a paid platform with custom pricing. Basic, Enterprise, and Open Finance Suite have no published fixed price; prospective customers can request a quote. The Open Finance Suite quote applies to cloud, on-premise, or hybrid deployments and includes one-to-one post-sales support, with projects described as completing in 8–12 weeks.

Visitors can create an account to access a sandbox, and the homepage invites businesses to try Brankas for free. That provides a way to evaluate API access before a live deployment, but no trial duration, free-plan quota, seat limit, renewal term, or production allowance is stated. Buyers should request pricing and confirm what their intended institutions, products, and deployment will cost.

Platforms

Brankas supports Android, iOS, API, web, and self-hosted deployments. The mobile SDKs are for Android and iOS; the Open Finance Suite adds cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployment choices. This range suits organizations integrating into apps or managing their own infrastructure, while buyers should verify which products are supported in each target market and institution.

Who it's for

Brankas is aimed at banks, financial institutions, technology companies, and other businesses embedding financial services in their products. It is most compelling for teams that need several capabilities—financial data access, account-to-account payments, disbursements, or open-finance infrastructure—from one provider. Organizations seeking a narrow, low-cost integration or guaranteed coverage at a specific institution should compare alternatives before committing.

Pros and cons

Pros

Combines data and payments: Financial-data APIs, Direct, and Disburse address both information access and money movement within one product lineup.
Deployment flexibility: Cloud, on-premise, and hybrid Open Finance Suite options can accommodate different infrastructure preferences.
Sandbox and separate environments: Businesses can access a sandbox, while developers can work with distinct sandbox and live API environments.
Regional footprint and implementation help: Brankas reports more than 80 financial institution and partner integrations across six markets and offers implementation and post-sales support.

Cons

Custom pricing: With no fixed plan price, buyers cannot readily compare cost or forecast spend without requesting a quote.
Coverage varies: Institution-level products and availability differ, so the broad footprint does not guarantee access to a particular bank or service.
Implementation takes planning: Open Finance Suite projects are described as 8–12 weeks, which may not suit teams needing a rapid deployment.
Free access has no stated limits: The sandbox is useful for evaluation, but no trial duration or quota is stated, so it cannot establish the cost or scope of production use.

Alternatives

MX is worth comparing if a free account capped at 100 users and a freemium model better suit an initial rollout; its MX Platform plan uses demo-based pricing.
Powens offers custom API plans and a free trial; consider it when its enterprise options for dedicated hosting and support match your requirements.
TrueLayer Data API offers a free sandbox with mock data and no production access, while production pricing depends on volume and use case. Choose it when that sandbox-to-production pricing structure fits your evaluation.
BankConnector has a €100.00-per-month Starter plan with 100 payments included and €1.00 for each extra payment, with no minimum term and prices excluding VAT. It is a clearer-priced option for buyers whose payment needs fit that allowance.
Belvo offers a free sandbox with unlimited testing, but real-customer production access requires a paid plan. It may suit teams that want to test without a stated sandbox testing cap.
CAMSfinserv Account Aggregator offers a free consumer app; financial institution access is separately priced.
Envestnet | Yodlee provides a free sandbox with five preconfigured users and sample data only, without live-site linking. Consider it for a limited sample-data evaluation.
Fintable API is another API option to compare; its listed plans include a $12.00-per-month Personal plan and a custom-priced Enterprise plan.

Verdict

Brankas is a strong candidate for financial institutions and technology businesses that want a single provider for financial data, account-to-account payments, disbursements, and open-finance infrastructure. Its deployment options, sandbox access, and implementation support add practical value for larger integration projects. Look elsewhere if fixed pricing, fast implementation, or confirmed coverage at a specific institution is essential; Brankas’s custom quotes and variable institution support make those decisions dependent on a buyer-specific evaluation.
