Overview

Tidal LightMesh is an IP address management platform for teams coordinating address space across cloud environments and Microsoft DHCP. It is strongest when discovery and subnet planning need to sit alongside one another. It is a less complete fit for Google Cloud estates or teams that need more than five users without moving to Enterprise.

Key features

A read-only Windows Discovery Agent brings Microsoft DHCP scopes, leases, hostnames, and history into a searchable view, while agentless, read-only integrations discover AWS VPCs and Azure VNets, subnets, and assignments. That breadth gives network teams one place to review cloud and DHCP data without granting the discovery integrations write access. Cloud inventory syncs hourly on Pro and Team, every five minutes on Enterprise, and on demand on Free; the free tier therefore offers a slower, less predictable view of changing cloud inventory. Google Cloud is not supported today.

TreeView and Network Containers display planned and live networks together, helping identify overlaps and group address space. The visual Subnet Builder divides a parent subnet into address sizes for cloud and data center plans. Together these features make LightMesh useful for planning as well as inventory, particularly where teams need to coordinate allocations across environments.

LightMesh traces changes per record. Audit logs are retained for 7 days on Free and Pro, 30 days on Team, and included on Enterprise. Tidal says it completed a SOC 2 Type II audit and uses AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS v1.2 in transit. API limits rise from 10 requests per second on Free and Pro to 25 on Team, with unlimited rates on Enterprise. Okta, Google, Microsoft, and email-and-password sign-in methods are documented.

Pricing

LightMesh has a free plan, paid plans starting at $35 per month, and a 14-day trial. Free is free and supports one user, fewer than 1,000 IPs, unlimited subnets, basic IPAM, and DHCP discovery. Its no-cost entry point is useful for an individual evaluating a small address inventory, but on-demand cloud sync and a single seat constrain its use as a shared operational tool.

Pro costs 35.00 USD per month or 385.00 USD per year. Both versions allow one user, fewer than 1,000 IPs, unlimited subnets, and DHCP discovery. Pro preserves the free plan's core scale limits, so its value is chiefly for a solo user who wants a paid tier; it does not solve the need for more users or IP capacity.

Team costs 249.00 USD per month or 2739.00 USD per year. It raises the allowance to five users and fewer than 5,000 IPs, while retaining unlimited subnets and DHCP discovery. This is the practical step up for a small team, though the user and IP ceilings still make it unsuitable for larger inventories. The paid Pro and Team plans sync AWS and Azure inventory hourly.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes unlimited users and IPs, unlimited subnets, on-premise hosting, priority support, and DHCP discovery. It is the tier for larger or self-hosted deployments: Docker self-hosting is available on Ubuntu LTS, AWS, or Azure only on Enterprise, as are five-minute cloud syncs and unlimited API rates. Its audit retention is included. Support ranges from best-effort email on Free and Pro to 8-hour email support on Team and email, phone, and Slack on Enterprise.

Platforms

LightMesh runs as SaaS on every plan and supports API, Linux, macOS, Windows, and web access. Self-hosting is available through Docker on Ubuntu LTS, AWS, or Azure for Enterprise. The platform supports IPv6, DNS data management, and DHCP management.

Who it's for

LightMesh suits network administrators and small-to-large IT teams that need to discover AWS, Azure, and Microsoft DHCP address data and plan subnets in the same platform. Free and Pro fit a single user with fewer than 1,000 IPs; Team suits up to five users and fewer than 5,000 IPs. Enterprise is the relevant choice for unlimited scale, RBAC, custom SAML, or self-hosting. Organizations centered on Google Cloud should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Combines read-only DHCP and AWS/Azure discovery with tools for visual subnet planning, reducing the gap between seeing current allocations and organizing planned ones.
Pros: SaaS is available on every plan, while Enterprise adds Docker self-hosting for organizations that need deployment flexibility.
Pros: Enterprise raises cloud sync frequency to five minutes and includes unlimited users, IPs, API rates, and audit retention.
Cons: Google Cloud support is not currently available, leaving a gap for teams managing that environment.
Cons: Free and Pro are limited to one user and fewer than 1,000 IPs; Team is limited to five users and fewer than 5,000 IPs.
Cons: Free cloud sync is on demand, while Free and Pro retain audit logs for only 7 days.

Alternatives

IP Address Management Software is the directory's broader category for comparing IPAM options. Consider Subnetly when its free plan's 256 IPAM addresses, 10 subnets, two DHCP pools, and private and public DNS zones match a smaller deployment. Choose GestióIP if free software or a Linux, web, Windows, API, and self-hosted option is the priority; its listed Configuration Management Module for up to 50 devices costs 400.00 USD per year. Obelinf is another option to compare for its free Personal plan, which covers one user, one organization, one site, four racks, and 30 devices.

.NET may suit readers seeking a free option that supports Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android, with a listed Free plan for up to 1,000 nodes. Cygna DDI is an alternative with a perpetual-license or subscription model. For free self-hosted options, compare IPplan, a GPL self-hosted web application, NIPAP, open source under the MIT license, and phpIPAM, free open-source IP address management software.

Verdict

Choose LightMesh if you need a single place to discover Microsoft DHCP and AWS or Azure address data, then plan subnets around it. The combination of discovery and planning is its clearest strength, with Enterprise providing the scale and deployment choices for larger teams. Look elsewhere if Google Cloud is essential or if your team exceeds the lower-tier user and IP caps but cannot take on Enterprise pricing.
