Overview

AI.dp brings OCR, classification, conversion, verification, and fraud detection into workflows that can run from document intake through validation. It handles more than 50 document types out of the box and can be trained for custom types; teams can choose from over 150 data fields to extract. That breadth is useful when operations span invoices, identity documents, and other business records rather than one fixed form.

The workflow approach offers more control than a simple scanner, but also calls for decisions about fields, business rules, and when people should intervene. Batch processing of thousands of documents in parallel gives larger operations room to process volume without treating each file as a separate task.

Key features

Configurable extraction: Teams choose the data fields they need and can train custom document types. Supplier, line-item, and tax extraction, plus purchase-order matching, suit finance and procurement processes.
Workflow design and review: A drag-and-drop builder and prompt builder support intake, extraction, and validation. Business-rule approvals can handle routine decisions, while human reviewers can correct OCR results when automation needs a check.
Structured outputs and integrations: Data can be delivered as JSON, XML, CSV, XLSX, UBL, PDF, or TXT; the integrations offering covers more than 200 business apps, with custom connections through the API. That range helps teams fit extracted data into existing processes, though implementation still requires integration work.
Developer access and scale: APIs, SDKs, async APIs, and documentation support custom implementations. Doxis says implementation can generally be completed within a day, and batch processing supports thousands of documents in parallel.
Security and data handling: Doxis cites ISO 27001 and ISAE 3000 Type I certifications, GDPR and CCPA compliance, SSL encryption, and EU hosting. Customer data is not stored by default and is processed under a data processing agreement; servers are in Amsterdam by default, with custom locations available on request.
Language coverage: Latin-based languages are supported, with Doxis working with businesses to expand coverage to additional languages. Organizations processing scripts outside that coverage should confirm fit before committing.

Pricing

AI.dp has no free plan, but offers a free trial. The Free credits option is €0.00 per free and includes €25.00 worth of free credit on pay-as-you-go terms, with usage billed monthly. That provides a limited way to assess processing before choosing a paid arrangement, not a continuing free tier.

Pricing starts at €95/mo. Custom pricing depends on volume, workflow complexity, and subscription plan, making it the relevant route for organizations whose scale or workflow needs exceed the entry point. Teams should weigh their expected usage and configuration needs; the free credits do not establish the eventual monthly cost.

Platforms

AI.dp is available on web, Android, and iOS, with API access for integrations and custom workflows. It is cloud-deployed, so it is suited to teams that want a hosted service rather than a self-hosted deployment.

Who it's for

Finance, transportation and logistics, manufacturing, KYC, and retail teams are among the stated use cases. AI.dp is most compelling for organizations processing varied documents that need structured extraction, routing, and a human checkpoint for exceptions. Smaller teams with a single document task may find the workflow-building approach and paid plans more than they need. Its Latin-based language coverage also makes it a weaker fit where non-Latin scripts are central.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad document and field coverage: More than 50 document types and over 150 extraction fields offer flexibility across varied paperwork.
Human validation alongside automation: Reviewers can correct OCR results, providing a practical path for exceptions rather than relying only on automated rules.
Multiple integration paths: APIs, SDKs, standard output formats, and connections with more than 200 business apps support downstream use.
High-volume processing: Batch processing of thousands of documents in parallel suits larger operational queues.

Cons

No ongoing free plan: The €25.00 free-credit allowance is limited, and usage is billed monthly after that.
Configuration is part of the job: Teams need to define fields, workflow steps, and approval rules, so this is less suitable for buyers seeking a bare-bones scanner.
Language fit is bounded: Support centers on Latin-based languages, which may rule it out for workflows centered on other scripts.
Custom pricing can complicate budgeting: Costs depend on volume and workflow complexity, so larger or more involved deployments need a quote.

Alternatives

Veryfi Invoices OCR API is worth considering for invoice-focused API processing if a freemium plan matters; its Starter option carries a $500/mo minimum commitment, so that plan is not a low-cost alternative for modest volumes.

Nanonets Invoice OCR may suit buyers who want invoice extraction with API and email integration plus a free starting credit; its Starter begins with $50 in credits, then costs $100/month for 100 credits.

Parseur is a simpler point of comparison for email parsing, with a free plan capped at 20 pages per month, one user, and 90-day document retention.

Rossum AP Automation may be a better fit for accounts-payable teams prepared for a defined annual commitment: its Starter begins at $18,000 per year and includes unlimited seats, a 12-month document archive and search, and API access.

Yooz is another paid document-processing option, with a Gold Edition subscription priced according to document volume and unlimited users.

Tungsten AP Essentials is an alternative for accounts-payable teams seeking header and footer capture, online correction, ERP integration, and analytics.

Tungsten Power PDF is the more relevant choice when the job is desktop PDF editing, creation, or conversion rather than automated document extraction workflows.

Medius Contract Management is a contract-management add-on for Medius AP Essentials or AP 360 subscribers.

Verdict

Doxis AI.dp is best for organizations that need configurable extraction across multiple document types, integrated routing, and human validation at operational scale. Its breadth, API support, and batch processing make it a capable workflow platform; look elsewhere if you need a free ongoing tier, a simple single-purpose scanner, or reliable support for non-Latin scripts.
