Overview

Bulsee brings attendance, group administration, and communication into a single community platform. It is a good fit for organizers running recurring classes, clubs, study groups, workplace circles, or fitness groups who want more than a register. Its free plan makes it approachable, but groups that only need a roll call may prefer a simpler attendance tool.

Key features

Members can check themselves in with one tap or a QR code, and organizers can record attendance for them. Absence and tardiness tracking, automated alerts, and reports on attendance rates and participation trends help organizers follow engagement over time, not just count who showed up. That combination suits groups with regular sessions; family notifications are not supported, so Bulsee is a weaker fit when keeping parents or relatives informed is part of the job.

Group owners can manage members, roles, approval requests, recurring schedules, event registration and cancellations, and capacity. Boards, announcements, posts, comments, activity feeds, and one-to-one text and image messaging put group communication alongside those administrative tasks. Workout logs, group challenges, quizzes, coach notes, membership passes, and push notifications extend its usefulness for activity-based communities, though a group seeking only attendance tracking may not need that broader toolkit.

Google and Apple account sign-in are supported. The privacy policy describes encryption for data in transit, database storage, and uploaded images. The maker says it does not sell personal information and does not collect GPS or Wi-Fi location data, contacts, or payment information. Users can request account deletion in the app; account information and service usage records are deleted within 30 days. Registration is limited to people aged 14 or older.

Pricing

Bulsee has one stated plan: Free to start at 0.00 USD per free. It is the natural starting point for organizers who want attendance, group management, and communication together without a subscription commitment. No seat or usage caps are stated, so the plan cannot be confidently matched to a particular group size or volume of activity.

There are no paid tiers to compare. That keeps the entry point straightforward, but organizations that need a defined service level or predictable capacity may want to compare products with published limits or institution-specific pricing. Support is available in-app and by email, with a stated response time of 1–2 business days.

Platforms

Bulsee is available on Android, iOS, and the web, giving members and organizers mobile and browser access. That mix suits groups whose participants use different devices, though no desktop apps are stated.

Who it's for

Bulsee makes the most sense for organizers of recurring groups who want attendance records connected to membership, events, and ongoing communication. Academies, classes, study groups, clubs, workplace circles, and fitness classes are all within its intended audience. It is less suitable for groups that need family notifications, users under 14, or organizations seeking a narrowly focused sign-in tool.

Pros and cons

Pros: Self check-in, QR check-in, and organizer-entered attendance accommodate different session workflows.
Pros: Attendance reports and trend tracking sit alongside member, schedule, and event management, reducing the need to treat each job as a separate process.
Pros: The free plan and Android, iOS, and web access provide a low-commitment way to serve groups across devices.
Cons: Family notifications are not available, limiting its fit for groups that need to keep families updated.
Cons: The broad community toolkit may be unnecessary for teams that only need a basic attendance record.
Cons: The stated age minimum of 14 excludes younger participants from registering.

Alternatives

For student attendance, browse Student Attendance Software to compare options in that category. Choose QRaten if you want a free plan with QR/code attendance, personal history, and access across Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. UnivTrack is a better match for academic scheduling if its free forever plan—unlimited academic terms, with up to five morning and five afternoon course slots per weekday—fits your timetable.

iAttended is another free App Store option for those who want an attendance-focused alternative. Consider Attendances when a school-specific quote based on student and staff numbers and modules is preferable. GatePass offers a full-featured trial for one term at no cost and without a credit card or commitment.

AttendUni suits a single classroom with up to 30 students on its free tier, which includes QR verification and a real-time dashboard; its Professional plan is 100.00 EGP per month for one classroom and up to 100 students. AttenQR is a free option across Android, iOS, and web, with a 9.99 USD one-time payment to remove ads permanently. For organizations needing document signatures as well as attendance, Edusign offers custom pricing, including a stated allowance of 1,000 attendances per month before €0.25 per signature.

Verdict

Choose Bulsee if you run a recurring group and want attendance, member administration, events, and communication under one free platform. Its breadth is the central reason to pick it; look elsewhere if family notifications are essential, if participants are under 14, or if you need a tightly scoped attendance tool with clearly stated capacity.
