Overview

BusinessPlanIQ combines AI-assisted plan writing with financial projections, company valuation, proposals, pitch decks and feasibility studies. That range can keep core planning work in one place, from shaping a business case to producing documents for funders. The platform also includes an investor data room for sharing documents and managing permissions.

Its financial tools are notably grounded in South African use: projections cover five years in ZAR, and templates align with SEDA, NYDA, IDC and SEFA requirements. That makes the platform a more natural fit for businesses working in that funding environment than for users whose plans need other currencies or funding formats.

Key features

Planning and financial analysis

The AI plan generator brings writing, market analysis and financial projections together, with PDF or Word export depending on the plan. Separate feasibility studies cover market and financial viability, risks and implementation timelines. SWOT, PESTLE, Porter's Five Forces, competitor mapping and industry benchmarks add structured ways to examine a business idea. This is a broad toolkit for founders who need more than a narrative plan, though the value depends on how much of the analysis they need to produce.

Funding and investor materials

Users can create proposals, company profiles and funding applications, then turn business plan data into pitch decks and one-page summaries for PPTX or PDF export. The valuation tool supports DCF, asset-based, revenue-multiple, comparable-company and weighted methods. These options cover several common planning tasks; the facts do not establish the accuracy of generated analysis or valuations, so users making consequential funding decisions should treat them as planning inputs.

The investor data room adds document sharing, access tracking and permission controls. That is useful when sharing materials with potential investors, although no storage or user limits are given for this feature.

Pricing

BusinessPlanIQ uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a 14-day trial. The listed monthly prices are in ZAR.

Plan	Price	What it includes	Best fit
Free	0.00 ZAR per month	One business plan, AI assistant, PDF export and all sections	Someone preparing one plan who can work with PDF output
Professional	299.00 ZAR per month	Three plans, advanced AI, financial projections, pitch deck builder and Word export	A founder developing several plans or needing projections and editable Word documents
Enterprise	999.00 ZAR per month	Unlimited plans, team collaboration, white-label, priority support and API access	Teams that need shared work, branded output or API access

Free includes all sections, but its one-plan cap and PDF-only export make it a constrained starting point. Professional raises the cap to three and adds projections, deck building and Word export; it is the practical step up for individual founders who need those deliverables. Enterprise removes the plan cap and adds team and integration features, but its price is a substantial jump for a solo user. No seat quotas, trial terms or renewal terms are given.

Platforms

BusinessPlanIQ runs on the web. It supports PDF, Word and PowerPoint document formats across its tools, with plan-specific export access: the Free plan includes PDF, while Professional adds Word export.

Who it's for

BusinessPlanIQ is best suited to South African founders and small businesses preparing a plan for funding, building financial forecasts in ZAR, or assembling investor materials. Professional makes sense for users who need more than one plan, projections or Word files. Enterprise fits teams that need collaboration, white-labeling or API access. A user who needs only one PDF plan can start free; someone who needs other currencies, mobile apps or a plan tailored to another funding ecosystem should compare alternatives.

Pros and cons

Pros: Planning, projections, valuation, proposals, feasibility work and pitch materials sit in one web platform, which can reduce the need to assemble those deliverables across separate tools.
Pros: Five-year projections in ZAR and templates aligned with SEDA, NYDA, IDC and SEFA make the offering particularly relevant to South African funding preparation.
Pros: The free plan includes every section, so a first-time user can explore the full range of sections while limited to one plan and PDF export.
Cons: The free plan's single-plan limit and lack of Word export restrict repeated use and editing in a word processor.
Cons: The listed projection currency is ZAR, which limits its fit for businesses that need forecasts in another currency.
Cons: Professional allows three plans, while unlimited plans and collaboration require the much more expensive Enterprise plan.

Alternatives

IdeaBuddy is a better fit for someone who wants Android or iOS access alongside web and a free plan with one idea, one collaborator and 10 AI requests. Its Dreamer plan's price and limits are not exposed.

Exuno Business Studio suits a user who wants a free, forever starter with one active project, business plans, formal letters and a live chat-to-PDF workspace.

Business Plan Quick Builder is worth considering when broad device support and free exports to Excel, PDF and HTML matter more than the wider planning toolkit described above.

Business in a Box is a broader option for someone seeking business software across devices, with a free tier that includes one user, 12 projects, 100 tasks and 100 templates, among other limits.

Business Model Fiddle is a free community resource for users who want a no-cost tool focused on business models.

PrometAI offers a free web plan for one business plan with 25 AI requests a month, cloud sync and USD-only support; it may suit users whose work is centered on USD rather than BusinessPlanIQ's ZAR projections.

Venturekit is an alternative for users who want a web-based free plan with unlimited light plans and up to three full plans per month, alongside lender-ready statements, forecasts and pitch materials.

Funderly offers a free web tier for two ideas with snapshot PDFs, making it a fit for early exploration when full financials and exports are not yet needed.

Verdict

Choose BusinessPlanIQ if you are preparing a South African funding plan and want projections, valuation, feasibility analysis and investor materials in one web platform. Its local funding alignment and broad document workflow are the clearest reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if you need mobile access, projections beyond ZAR, or a low-cost plan for ongoing multi-plan work.
