Overview

BusyBusy is a workforce time-tracking and field-operations platform for employers coordinating people across jobsites. It is best suited to teams that want to start with unlimited users at no charge and add supervisory or project tools as needs grow. Its free entry point is a clear advantage; the trade-off is that the feature-rich paid tiers use custom pricing.

Founded in 2010 and based in Englewood, Colorado, BusyBusy works on web, iOS, and Android. The combination of a mobile app, geofencing, kiosk mode, break and overtime tracking, and payroll integrations addresses practical needs beyond recording hours, though it does not identify which payroll systems are supported.

Key features

Timekeeping across locations

Break and overtime tracking, geofencing, and kiosk mode give BusyBusy a broader timekeeping role than a basic clock-in tool. That mix may suit field employers who need attendance workflows for both mobile workers and a shared clock-in point. Payroll integrations can help connect timekeeping to payroll, but teams dependent on a particular provider should verify compatibility before choosing it.

Supervision and scheduling

Pro adds GPS breadcrumbing, supervisor tools, daily sign-offs, photos and notes, and scheduling. These are useful additions for managers who need location context and a daily record of work, rather than time entries alone. The step up from the free plan is meaningful, but custom pricing makes it harder to assess the cost of those controls before engaging with the provider.

Project coordination

Premium includes everything in Pro, then adds documents, daily project reports, progress tracking, checklists, and team messaging. Those tools make Premium the more relevant tier for teams that want project updates and coordination alongside timekeeping. Employers that only need attendance and payroll workflows may have little reason to move beyond a leaner setup.

Pricing

BusyBusy uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a 14-day trial. The Free plan is free and supports unlimited users, making it a low-risk starting point for teams that need to coordinate many people without a per-user cap. Its trade-off is that GPS breadcrumbing, supervisor tools, daily sign-offs, photos and notes, and scheduling are reserved for Pro.

Pro has custom pricing and adds those supervisory and scheduling features. It fits employers that need jobsite context and daily accountability, but the lack of a published price makes budgeting difficult until the provider supplies a quote.

Premium also has custom pricing. It carries forward Pro and adds documents, project reports, progress tracking, checklists, and team messaging, so it is the logical tier for teams with broader project-coordination needs. Teams paying chiefly for time tracking should weigh whether those extra workflows justify moving up.

Platforms

BusyBusy is available on web, iOS, and Android, with a mobile app. That combination supports teams that need browser access as well as mobile use, including workers and managers using different devices.

Who it's for

BusyBusy is a strong fit for employers with field or project teams who want unlimited users on a free plan, then the option to add location context, scheduling, sign-offs, and project coordination. Its tracking and payroll-related tools also make it worth considering for attendance workflows. It is less compelling for buyers who need a known total cost before choosing a paid plan, or who must confirm compatibility with a named payroll system before evaluating the product.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free plan supports unlimited users, avoiding a listed seat cap as teams get started.
Pro: Geofencing, kiosk mode, break and overtime tracking, and payroll integrations address several day-to-day timekeeping needs.
Pro: Pro and Premium add a clear progression from supervisor oversight and scheduling to project reports and team coordination.
Con: Pro and Premium have custom pricing, so employers cannot compare their cost from a published monthly rate.
Con: The payroll integrations are not tied to named systems, which leaves an important compatibility question for payroll-dependent teams.

Alternatives

QuickBooks Time is a paid alternative for buyers who do not need a free plan; its Time Premium and Time Elite plans each include one admin, and it supports web, iOS, and Android.

Fareclock is another paid option for web, iOS, and Android. Its Basic plan supports up to five users, while Pro costs 1.65 USD per month, billed $11.00 base + $1.65 per user, and includes GPS time tracking, shift scheduling, job costing, and gross pay calculation. Consider it when those named tools and a stated per-user charge suit your needs better than BusyBusy's free starting point and custom-priced upgrades.

Workyard is a paid web, iOS, and Android alternative with a Starter plan at 6.00 USD per month, billed annually. Its listed features include a mobile time clock, break and overtime compliance, timesheet reporting and audit trail, GPS tracking, and payroll integrations; it may suit buyers who prefer a paid plan with a stated annual-billing price and those specific tools.

CausewayOne Attendance is a paid alternative available on Android, iOS, and web.

eBacon is a paid alternative available on Android, iOS, and web.

Shiftee is a paid, web-only alternative. Its Basic Plan includes mobile and web apps, shift scheduling, attendance and leave management, and T&A reports; consider it when those scheduling and attendance workflows matter more than BusyBusy's mobile platform availability.

Werx is a paid alternative with month-to-month plans priced by active projects: Essential is 49.00 USD per month for 10 active projects, and Plus is 89.00 USD per month for 20 active projects. It may suit a buyer who wants a stated monthly cost tied to project capacity.

ClockShark is a paid web, iOS, and Android alternative whose Standard plan includes time and attendance tracking, GPS tracking, job and task tracking, scheduling, manager roles and approvals, and third-party integrations. It is worth comparing when those named workflows are a closer match for your team.

Verdict

Choose BusyBusy if you manage field or project teams, want unlimited users on a free plan, and may later need supervisor and project workflows in the same platform. Its principal strength is that step-up from basic timekeeping to location-aware oversight and project coordination. Look elsewhere if a published paid price or confirmed support for a particular payroll system is essential before you commit.
