Overview

Routific is aimed at delivery operators, with food, courier, farm, grocery, and florist businesses among the industries it showcases. Its route optimizer weighs driver preferences, business priorities, and traffic patterns, so it addresses operational constraints as well as route planning. Founded in 2012 and based in Vancouver, the maker focuses the product on last-mile delivery rather than general-purpose trip planning.

Key features

Dispatchers can move stops on a map or timeline and add last-minute deliveries. That makes the plan adjustable when orders change after routes are built. Time-window planning, recurring routes, and automatic reoptimization support repeat schedules and changing delivery needs, while the 1,000-stop maximum sets a practical ceiling for very large workloads.

Drivers receive routes and delivery instructions in the mobile app, with navigation through Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps. Live GPS tracking provides driver locations and updated ETAs; Routific says tracking is limited to working hours. Customers can use automated tracker links to follow an approaching driver and receive a completion notification. Email notifications are included, while SMS is excluded from the free plan and available as a quoted add-on.

Drivers can record signatures and multiple photos as proof of delivery. The resulting audit trail and photo evidence can help businesses resolve delivery disputes. APIs and real-time webhook events support integration work; named services include Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Zoho, and BigCommerce, with Shopify described as a two-way integration. The privacy policy describes US data hosting, SSL-secured communication, and salted password hashes, while cautioning that absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and covers up to 100 orders a month, with all features except SMS notifications. It is a useful way for a small operation to run the full workflow at low volume, but the cap means growing businesses will move quickly to paid service. A free 7-day trial is also advertised.

The paid plan costs 150.00 USD per month for 101 to 1,000 orders a month. That flat price is suited to businesses whose monthly volume fits this band; there is no lower paid tier for teams exceeding the free allowance. Higher volumes are charged per order, with rates decreasing as volume rises: 0.15 USD per month for each order in the 1,001–2,000 band, 0.13 USD per month for 2,001–3,000, 0.10 USD per month for 3,001–5,000, 0.08 USD per month for 5,001–10,000, 0.05 USD per month for 10,001–20,000, and 0.03 USD per month for 20,001–50,000. Those usage charges make costs scale with orders rather than drivers, so high-volume operators should account for order totals when budgeting. SMS remains an add-on for a quote. The support dashboard is view-only on all plans.

Platforms

Routific supports web, Android, and iOS, and offers an API. The mix accommodates dispatchers working in a browser and drivers receiving routes on mobile devices.

Who it's for

Routific is a strong fit for last-mile businesses that need route planning, dispatch changes, driver visibility, customer updates, and delivery evidence in one operation. Small teams can start on the free plan if 100 monthly orders is enough and SMS is not required. It is a weaker fit for occasional route planning or organizations that cannot justify $150 per month once they cross the free allowance.

Pros and cons

Pros: Route optimization considers driver preferences, business priorities, and traffic, while map and timeline editing let dispatchers respond to late changes.
Pros: Driver tracking, customer tracker links, completion notices, and signature-and-photo evidence cover several stages of delivery follow-through.
Pros: The free tier includes the feature set other than SMS, so low-volume teams can use more than a basic route planner.
Cons: The free allowance stops at 100 orders a month, and the paid entry point is 150.00 USD per month.
Cons: SMS is not included in the free plan and requires a quoted add-on; order-based charges also mean higher-volume costs need close attention.

Alternatives

For a small route workload with a lower-cost entry point, Route4Me offers a free tier with 10 stops and routes saved for seven days, plus a 9.99 USD monthly plan with unlimited stops. Choose it when that simpler stop-based offer better matches the job than Routific’s delivery workflow and order-based pricing. Onro is another option to compare for its free demo plan with unlimited orders, users, and drivers.

Fleetbase may suit teams considering self-hosted deployment or a 29.00 USD monthly cloud plan with unlimited orders and users. Shipday offers a free forever tier for up to 300 orders a month and 10 driver accounts, so it is worth comparing for a business whose volume exceeds Routific’s free cap. MileApp has a free plan with 1,000 tasks a month and 10 vehicles per routing, making it a relevant alternative for teams comparing task-based allowances.

InstaDispatch is another delivery software option to consider. OptimoRoute may suit buyers seeking a paid, per-driver route-planning plan with live tracking and API access; its Lite plan is 35.10 USD per month when billed annually and covers up to 700 orders at once. Tarot Routing is an alternative for buyers comparing a pay-for-use API plan or per-vehicle business pricing.

Verdict

Choose Routific if your business runs recurring last-mile deliveries and needs dispatchers, drivers, and customers working from a shared delivery plan, with evidence to back up completed drops. Its strongest case is the joined-up route-to-proof workflow. Look elsewhere if you need a low-cost paid tier, rely on included SMS, or expect order volumes that make per-order charges hard to forecast.
