Overview

OfficeClip is built to keep leads, clients, companies, communications and customer history together. Notes and activity history preserve context, while calls, reminders, follow-ups, tasks and a calendar help teams manage ongoing customer work. Documents, reports, invoices and a customer portal extend it beyond a basic address book.

Teams can use the hosted service or install it on their own servers or private cloud. This choice is useful for organizations weighing operational control against a hosted deployment, but the breadth of the system may be more than an individual needs for personal contact tracking. Imports support CSV, Google Contacts and Outlook, and email synchronization is available.

OfficeClip belongs to the broader Contact Management Software category, though its mix of outreach, record controls and deployment options makes it more of a team workflow tool than a simple contact list.

Key features

Search and filters, hierarchical tags, campaigns, drip marketing and lead capture help teams segment and develop prospects. Daily call lists, calls, follow-ups and reminders give sales and service staff a practical way to organize outreach; tasks and calendar functions keep related work alongside customer records. Invoices and a customer portal add operational tools, although teams seeking only a shared directory may not need this wider feature set.

The Outlook Add-in can synchronize contacts, notes, calendar events and tasks, with one-way or two-way sync options. OfficeClip also lists Google Forms, Zapier, Amazon SES, Mailjet and SocketLabs integrations, plus synchronization with Google and Outlook. A developer API includes documentation for business, data-access and utility layers, along with source-code walkthroughs, which gives teams a route to build around the product.

Permissions operate at both feature and record level, with custom roles and ownership-based visibility. Two-factor authentication, audit trails, 256-bit SSL encryption and daily backups across multiple locations strengthen the control set. OfficeClip says its hosted US data center is certified to ISO27001, HIPAA, ISO 90001, PCI-DSS and SOC2-Type2 standards. Phone support is offered during business hours, with 24/7 email and chat support.

Pricing

The Standard Edition is free, billed free forever, with no user or time limit. It includes unlimited upgrades, unlimited file uploads, mobile access and a customer portal; the free web edition also provides unlimited users and contacts, document management and campaign creation. This is a generous starting point for teams that want to assess shared contact management without a seat cap, though the free plan's breadth should not be taken to mean every paid-edition capability is included.

Professional Edition costs 5.00 USD per month, billed per user-month, and Enterprise Edition costs 18.00 USD per month, also billed per user-month. Both include a 30-day free trial without a credit card, unlimited file uploads and a 10% discount for yearly payment. The lower-cost Professional tier is the more restrained paid entry point; Enterprise costs substantially more per seat, so it is best considered by teams whose needs justify its edition. The plan details do not establish a seat minimum or a feature-by-feature difference between the two.

For organizations that prefer to run the software themselves, Professional Edition (Installed) costs 36.00 USD per once, billed one-time per user, and Enterprise Edition (Installed) costs 144.00 USD per once, likewise billed one-time per user. Both are installed on a computer or private cloud and operate behind a firewall. They avoid a recurring per-user cloud charge, but require an installed deployment; the editions are distinct price points rather than a monthly subscription.

Platforms

OfficeClip supports web, Android, iOS and Windows, as well as API, extension and self-hosted options. Mobile access is included in the free edition. The hosted and installed deployment choices make it suitable for teams with different hosting preferences, while the Outlook Add-in and Google synchronization support work across familiar calendars and contact workflows.

Who it's for

Small businesses and service firms can use OfficeClip to keep customer records, documents and follow-up work together. Recruiting and sales teams may benefit particularly from call lists, lead capture, campaigns, activity history and shared permissions. It is less compelling for someone who only needs a personal address book, or for a team that wants a narrowly focused tool without the wider customer-portal, reporting and deployment choices.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free web edition has no user or time limit and includes unlimited contacts, uploads, documents and campaign creation, so teams can start without a per-seat bill.
Pros: Hosted and installed deployment options, combined with record-level permissions and ownership visibility, give organizations meaningful control over how the system is run and shared.
Pros: Contact history, calls, follow-ups, tasks, calendar, documents and customer portal place customer work together rather than limiting the product to an address book.
Cons: Paid cloud pricing is per user-month, so the cost rises with team size even though file uploads are unlimited.
Cons: Installed editions require an upfront one-time payment per user and an organization-managed deployment, which may be a less convenient fit than hosted service.
Cons: Its broad sales and administration feature set may be unnecessary overhead for individuals or teams that only need contact storage and basic syncing.

Alternatives

Cloze is a freemium alternative with a free contact-management and email-inbox plan, while Cloze Pro costs 17.00 USD per month; consider it when that combination better fits your needs.

Blinq Email Signatures has a free plan centered on a personal email signature and digital business cards, making it a more focused option for sharing contact details.

Pobuca Connect advertises free access but requires an invitation to register, a relevant distinction if you are comparing free contact tools.

CamCard offers a free membership capped at 20 cards and a business plan with a 10-day trial; consider it if that card-based offering better matches your needs.

ContactsPlus offers a free plan limited to one synced account and 1,000 contacts, with daily sync and web, iOS and Android apps; it may suit someone whose needs fit those caps.

Haystack is another alternative.

KADO offers a free Networker Lite plan for one user with interactive digital business cards and contact capture, a narrower fit for individual networking.

Wave Connect is another alternative.

Verdict

OfficeClip is a strong fit for small teams that want shared customer records, organized follow-up and the choice of hosted or installed deployment, especially if the unlimited free web edition covers their needs. Its breadth and free entry point are the main reasons to choose it; look elsewhere if you need only a lightweight personal contacts app or want to avoid per-user charges as a team grows.
