Overview

ChequePro is cheque-printing software for people and organisations that need to print onto existing bank chequebooks. It is best suited to a Windows setup that can keep cheque work on one device. Its central trade-off is straightforward: offline operation and a free starting point, but separate licences for each additional device.

Key features

Ready-made bank templates cover supported layouts, while a custom template designer gives users a way to handle banks without a pre-built option. Blank-cheque support, MICR printing and layout customisation make it more adaptable than a tool limited to filling in one fixed cheque design.

ChequePro adds amount-in-words, A/c Payee crossing and other tamper-protection features automatically. That reduces reliance on remembering safeguards during cheque preparation. File-based accounting imports offer a route to bring in data, while Business adds batch printing from CSV or Excel—particularly useful for organisations producing larger runs.

The Windows desktop application runs offline and stores data on the user's machine. That suits users who prefer local desktop operation, but it is not the choice for teams that need web access. People Central Pte Ltd, based in Singapore, says it and ChequePro are ISO 27001 certified for information security management. Paid plans include priority email support; Corporate adds a dedicated account manager.

Pricing

ChequePro offers a 30-day trial with all features across the plans. After the trial, paid features deactivate and Free features remain available. Prices for paid plans are one-time purchases, not monthly subscriptions.

Free — 0.00 USD per free, free forever: One device, up to three bank accounts and one company. It covers the core needs of individuals and small businesses, but the account and company caps will constrain users with multiple banking relationships or entities.
Essential — 99.00 USD per once: One device and unlimited bank accounts. This removes the Free plan's bank-account ceiling, but retains the one-company limit implied by the listed plan inclusions and does not include Business's batch printing, multi-company or multi-user features.
Business — 199.00 USD per once: One device, batch printing, multi-company support and multi-user access with role-based permissions. It is the more suitable tier for larger organisations that need to process cheque runs or separate access by role, though each additional device still needs its own licence.
Corporate — 299.00 USD per once: One device, four-eyes authorisation, digital signature and a dedicated account manager. The approval controls make it the strongest fit for organisations that need additional cheque oversight; the single-device licence remains a practical limit for broader deployments.

The paid plans include priority email support. The one-time pricing avoids a recurring subscription, but buyers planning to use ChequePro across several machines should factor in separate licences.

Platforms

ChequePro is a Windows desktop application. Offline operation and local data storage suit a single-machine workflow; it is not a fit for users seeking a browser-based or mobile option.

Who it's for

Individuals and small businesses can start with Free if three bank accounts, one company and one device are enough. Essential fits users who need more bank accounts without moving to batch processing or multi-company workflows. Business targets larger organisations that need batch runs and multiple user roles. Corporate is aimed at organisations that also need four-eyes authorisation, digital signatures and a dedicated account contact.

Pros and cons

Pro: Ready-made templates plus a custom designer can accommodate both supported bank layouts and banks without a pre-built template.
Pro: Automatic amount-in-words, A/c Payee crossing and other tamper-protection features build safeguards into the printing process.
Pro: The one-time paid plans include options for batch printing, role-based access and approval controls, rather than requiring a subscription.
Con: Every licence covers only one device, so multi-device use requires additional purchases.
Con: Free is capped at three bank accounts and one company, limiting its fit for users with broader needs.
Con: Windows-only desktop operation excludes users who need web, macOS or mobile access.

Alternatives

Check Printing Software is the broader category directory for readers who want to compare cheque-printing options.

Choose CHECKPRINT instead if Android, iOS or web access matters more than ChequePro's Windows desktop approach; its free plan allows one bank account and unlimited checks, with PDFs carrying a watermark and checks stored for 30 days.

Zil Money is another freemium option, with Android, iOS, web and API platforms; its free plan has limited monthly transactions, while Business offers unlimited transactions at a price not stated.

Choose CheckPrintPro if you want a hosted plan with cloud storage and access from any device; it costs 9.99 USD per month and includes unlimited profiles, check printing and history.

PrintBoss is a paid alternative with plans priced per QuickBooks company each month, including a Personal plan for one user.

Choose Checkrun if mobile or web access and unlimited users matter; its Business subscription is 50.00 USD per month and covers up to 10 bank accounts.

ezCheckPrinting is a paid alternative for Windows or macOS; its Windows single-user edition costs 59.00 USD per once and includes unlimited checks, bank accounts and companies.

SimpleChex is a web-based freemium alternative with a free plan capped at 10 checks per month for one business and one user.

Checkeeper is a paid web and API alternative for readers considering check printing and mailing services.

Verdict

Choose ChequePro if you need offline cheque printing on Windows, want bank-layout flexibility and can work within a one-device licence. Its free plan is a practical starting point for modest needs, while Business and Corporate add capabilities for larger operations. Look elsewhere if your workflow requires multiple devices without separate licences, or access from a browser, phone or Mac.
