Overview

PollQR brings several audience-engagement workflows into one service: live presentation polls, customer surveys, Q&A, and judged competitions. Responses can be anonymous, and the stated audience limit is 500. That makes it relevant to meetings, talks, and feedback campaigns, though the Pro response ceiling and the separate competition pricing may change the calculation for larger or more elaborate events.

Key features

Live polls support seven question types, including multiple choice, word clouds, and ranking, with results appearing as votes arrive. Moderation tools and Q&A give presenters ways to manage participation, while slide integration and browser-based workflows cover PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Slides without a presentation add-in. This is a useful combination for presenters who want interaction without asking attendees to install software.

Business surveys add downloadable response data, email alerts, AI sentiment analysis, and optional review nudges for happy customers. The tools suit teams that want to collect feedback and follow up, but the Pro limit of 5,000 responses per poll is a meaningful ceiling for a single large survey. Pro includes CSV exports and webhooks; PollQR says responses can also be downloaded in CSV or JSON.

PollQR says it uses encryption, secure hosting, and access controls, and that customers own their survey data; it does not sell, trade, or rent personal information. Customers remain responsible for privacy compliance concerning respondents. The PowerPoint add-in reads and writes only the open presentation to insert selected content and communicates with PollQR over HTTPS.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes one live poll, with no credit card required. It is a low-commitment way to try a single poll, but it is too limited for regular events or broader survey work.

Pay-As-You-Go costs 2.99 USD per month, with no subscription required. It allows 500 responses per poll and retains data for 90 days. This suits occasional teachers, trainers, speakers, and short events that need a little more than the free poll; the response cap and retention period are trade-offs for infrequent use.

Pro costs 19.00 USD per month after a free 14-day trial. It includes 20 surveys with unlimited responses, 25 custom QR codes, 100 live polls per month, up to 5,000 responses per poll, and 100 Q&A sessions per month with up to 1,000 questions each. CSV exports and webhooks are included. This is the clearest fit for businesses and presenters running recurring events or surveys, although the per-poll response ceiling still matters.

Enterprise Starter starts at 299.00 USD per month for 5–25 locations, making it the location-oriented option for organizations beyond an individual presenter or small team. Competition passes cost 249.00 USD per competition, or 149.00 USD with Pro. Each pass covers one event, one QR code per entry, up to five scoring criteria, and a private live jury board; the price covers up to 10 contestants, with larger fields quoted individually.

Platforms

PollQR supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. The browser-based presentation workflows cover PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Slides without a presentation add-in, while QR-code participation avoids requiring attendees to install an app.

Who it's for

PollQR is a practical choice for presenters who want live audience input, businesses collecting customer feedback, and event organizers who need Q&A or live judging. Occasional speakers and educators can start with the per-poll option; teams with recurring needs are better matched to Pro. It is less suitable when a single poll must exceed 5,000 responses on Pro or a competition involves more than 10 contestants without an individually quoted arrangement.

Pros and cons

Pros: Participants can respond by QR code without installing an app, reducing setup friction for live events.
Pros: Polls, surveys, Q&A, and judged competitions cover several event and feedback needs in one service.
Pros: Pro combines 20 surveys, 100 monthly live polls, 100 Q&A sessions, and export and webhook options for recurring use.
Cons: Pro's 5,000-response cap applies to each poll, despite unlimited responses across its survey allocation.
Cons: The 90-day data retention on Pay-As-You-Go may be restrictive for teams that need longer access to past responses.
Cons: Competition pricing is substantial for a single event and covers only up to 10 contestants before individual quoting.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Polling Software and Audience Response Systems.

Verdict

Choose PollQR if you need QR-based participation across live polls, surveys, Q&A, and occasional judged competitions, especially when avoiding attendee app installs matters. Its breadth and Pro allowance make it suited to recurring presenters and business feedback teams. Look elsewhere if you need a single poll to exceed 5,000 responses on Pro, longer retention on the low-cost option, or a larger competition without a separately quoted price.
