Overview

MyEmployment combines employment and income verification with employee controls over report access. It is a strong fit for employers and verifiers who want employee involvement built into verification, though verifiers should account for the $59 charge per standard check.

Key features

Employee-controlled access

Employees and former employees can get instant alerts when a request is made, then approve or deny it. Global preferences and the option to freeze access give people ways to manage requests beyond handling each one individually. Coverage of former employees, including people who left years ago, makes the service relevant beyond an employer’s current workforce.

Employer and verifier workflows

MyEmployment says it integrates with more than 60 payroll and HRIS platforms, including ADP, Paychex, Gusto, Workday and UKG. It handles incoming employment verification requests and can also verify employers’ new hires. Verifiers can connect their systems through a REST API, making the service a potential fit for organizations that need to incorporate checks into an existing workflow.

MyEmployment says it credentials verifiers, checks permissible purpose, and monitors and audits requests. It also says it is SOC 2 certified and complies with the FCRA and major state privacy regulations. The employer FAQ describes encryption at rest and in transit, threat monitoring, and access to only the information needed for a verification at the time of the request, while employers can provide payroll data each pay cycle. These controls address important privacy and compliance concerns, though the stated safeguards are not a substitute for an organization’s own compliance review.

A dedicated U.S.-based team supports employer integration, verifier onboarding and credentialing, with ongoing guidance. That support is useful for organizations setting up connections or verification access, rather than a service limited to self-serve tools.

Pricing

MyEmployment’s employee and employer services are free, while standard verification costs $59.00 USD per once. The split makes the service accessible to employees and employers without subscription charges, but places the direct per-check cost on verifiers.

Employee service — free: Free for employees and former employees. The employee/former employee plan includes employment data alerts, approval or denial of requests, and the ability to freeze or unfreeze access. It suits people who want visibility and control over requests without a subscription.
Employer service — free: Free for employers, with no subscription costs, no hidden fees or IT charges, and basic service agreements. It is a low-cost way for employers to use the service, though the plan is described as basic.
Standard verification — 59.00 USD per once: A flat $59 per verification, paid by the verifier, with no-hit-no-fee standard verification. This suits verifiers who need standard checks without a subscription, but recurring checks make the per-verification charge a material cost.

Platforms

MyEmployment supports Android, iOS and web, alongside API access. That combination serves individual users on mobile or web and verifiers integrating through an API.

Who it's for

Employees and former employees who want to see and manage access requests can use the free employee service. Employers seeking a no-subscription verification service with payroll and HRIS integrations are also a natural fit. Verifiers can use the API and credentialing process, but should weigh the $59 standard-check fee against their expected volume. MyEmployment is less compelling for verifiers who need a different pricing model or for organizations whose verification needs do not center on employee-controlled access.

Pros and cons

Pro: Alerts, individual request decisions and broader access controls give employees a meaningful role in access to their employment and income data.
Pro: Free employee and employer services avoid subscription costs for those groups.
Pro: More than 60 payroll and HRIS integrations, plus a verifier REST API, support employer and verifier workflows.
Con: Verifiers pay $59 for each standard verification, which can add up for high-volume use.
Con: The employer service is described as basic, so organizations seeking a broader payroll or HR suite should consider a different category of product.

Alternatives

Employment Verification Software is a useful place to compare other tools in the category. For a verifier API with a free sandbox, choose Smile API if mock-data testing before production access is the priority; production access requires approval and is billable. Clear Verify is another free employer option, with $0 setup, monthly and integration fees.

Choose Konfir Employment Verification if pay-as-you-go pricing at £5.50 per successfully verified activity and custom UX branding suit your workflow. MeasureOne Employment Verification is worth considering for direct connections, status-level data, PDF processing and real-time results, with custom pricing. If you need a payroll and HR suite rather than a focused verification service, consider ADP Workforce Now or RUN Powered by ADP; both have custom pricing. The Work Number is another paid, web-based alternative. Truv is a paid API and web alternative, with custom pricing for its plans.

Verdict

MyEmployment is the right choice for employers, employees and verifiers who want verification organized around employee visibility and access controls, especially when free employee and employer services matter. Its broad employer integrations and verifier API add practical reach. Verifiers should look elsewhere if $59 per standard check does not fit their volume or budget, and employers seeking a full payroll or HR platform should choose a broader suite instead.
