Overview

Redact is a bulk cleanup app for people managing old activity across social, messaging, professional and productivity accounts. It suits anyone who wants to filter and review a large history before acting, while its free plan is narrow and broader cleanup requires a subscription.

Its strongest practical advantage is combining broad service coverage with preview controls. The important trade-off is that deletion is irreversible on the platform, and it cannot remove copies saved by other people or preserved elsewhere.

Key features

Targeted cleanup with previews

Filters for keywords, hashtags, date ranges and content types let users narrow the material they want to address, and previews offer a chance to check selections before deletion. That is useful when a broad cleanup risks catching posts or messages worth keeping. Supported content types vary by service, however, so the same cleanup options should not be assumed across every integration.

Coverage and recurring deletion

Redact supports more than 35 services, including Twitter/X, Facebook, Discord, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads and Slack. This reach makes it a fit for people with histories spread across different kinds of accounts. Platform rate limits can slow deletion, and integrations may pause when services change.

Scheduled Deletion can repeat every three months, six months, yearly or on a custom interval. It is available from Premium upward, making recurring upkeep a paid feature rather than a way to extend the free plan.

Privacy and permanence

For social and messaging cleanup, account credentials and content pass directly between the device and the service; Redact says it receives de-identified usage and diagnostic information. It says data is encrypted at rest and in transit. The local archive can save content to the device before deletion, but it is off by default and users need to enable it if they want that safeguard.

Broker removals and OSINT scans can require submitting identifying information to data brokers or breach-detection services, and scan results may pass temporarily through Redact's servers. Redact says it encrypts and destroys data processed on its servers for these tasks. Broker removal covers 120 sites, with automated requests, continuous removal frequency, recurring monitoring and household identity coverage.

Once a platform deletes content, Redact cannot restore it or remove copies already made by others, including screenshots or web archives. The preview step and optional archive matter most to anyone considering irreversible cleanup.

Pricing

Redact is freemium, with no free trial. Paid prices are shown per month with annual billing; the annual totals make the commitment explicit.

Plan	Price	What it includes	Best fit
Free	Free	Last 30 days of Twitter/X, Discord and Facebook content; anonymize Reddit history at any date; desktop and mobile app	Trying limited cleanup or anonymizing Reddit history without paying.
Premium	7.99 USD per month (billed $95.88 billed yearly)	Unlimited deletion, all major social platforms, scheduled deletions and 2 accounts per platform	Regular social cleanup across multiple accounts, without professional-platform coverage.
Ultimate	14.99 USD per month (billed $179.88 billed yearly)	Professional platforms including LinkedIn and Slack, advanced filtering, priority 1:1 support and 5 accounts per platform	People who need professional services, more accounts or direct support.
Enterprise Platform	Custom pricing; billed yearly or monthly	Workforce privacy platform, compliance archiving, SSO/SAML, data broker removal, scheduled deletions and exposed data monitoring	Organizations needing workforce privacy and compliance-oriented capabilities.
Projects	Custom pricing; project-based	Social media cleanup, executive reputation protection, incident response, privacy audit and content archiving	Organizations seeking scoped cleanup or response work.
Redact Managed	Custom pricing; billed yearly	Brand page management, monitoring and reporting, custom retention policies and SLA guarantees	Organizations wanting ongoing brand management under a yearly arrangement.

The free tier has tight service and time limits. Premium removes the deletion limit and adds recurring cleanup, but caps coverage at two accounts per platform and does not include professional platforms such as LinkedIn and Slack. Ultimate raises the cap to five and adds those platforms, advanced filters and 1:1 priority support. The business offerings move beyond individual account cleanup, with custom pricing rather than a published self-serve rate.

Platforms

Redact supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS and Windows. Desktop and mobile access are included on Free, making it possible to start without choosing a paid tier based on device.

Who it's for

Redact is best for individuals who want to clean up old activity across several services, especially if they value filters and a review step before deletion or need recurring cleanup. Premium is the practical starting point for broad social-platform deletion; Ultimate is better for professional accounts or more than two accounts per platform. Its enterprise and managed offerings address workforce privacy, compliance, reputation and retention needs rather than casual personal cleanup.

It is a weaker fit for someone who needs guaranteed immediate removal, uniform controls across every service, or recovery after deletion. Rate limits, integration interruptions and service-specific content support constrain what a bulk tool can reliably do.

Pros and cons

Pros: Filters plus previews help users target large histories and check selections before an irreversible action.
Pros: More than 35 integrations and five supported operating systems make it relevant across varied accounts and devices.
Pros: Premium and Ultimate include unlimited deletion, and both support scheduled cleanup; Ultimate also raises the account cap and adds professional platforms.
Cons: Free cleanup is limited to recent Twitter/X, Discord and Facebook content, with Reddit anonymization as the exception.
Cons: Rate limits and integration pauses can delay cleanup, while supported content types vary by service.
Cons: Deletion cannot be undone through Redact, and copies held by others or web archives remain outside its control.

Verdict

Redact is a strong choice for people who want to inspect and remove activity across multiple accounts, with recurring cleanup on paid plans and unusually broad device support. Choose Premium for ongoing social cleanup, or Ultimate when professional platforms, more accounts or priority 1:1 support matter. Look elsewhere if your priority is a simpler broker-removal service, guaranteed speed, or any promise of retrieving content after deletion.
