Overview

Customers can browse a restaurant’s menu in a phone browser without installing an app or creating an account. Menus support product sizes, modifiers, promotions, multiple languages, and labels for 14 major allergens, giving operators useful control over varied menus and dietary information.

Dine-in, pickup, and delivery orders can flow to a kitchen screen, thermal printer, or admin panel, with automatic status updates sent to customers. Orders can also be linked to Reservation.Tools bookings so kitchen staff can begin preparing before guests arrive. That breadth makes Ordering.Tools relevant to restaurants managing service and ordering together, although its paid-plan commissions may be a poor fit for businesses where every percentage point matters.

Key features

Ordering and kitchen workflow

Restaurants can manage order availability and synchronize with a POS, then choose how incoming orders reach the kitchen. Marketplace integrations cover Wolt, Glovo, Takeaway, Bolt Food, Foodpanda, and UberEats, potentially consolidating orders across several delivery channels. The value is greatest for operators already using those services; the platform’s range is less compelling if a venue does not need online ordering or marketplace coordination.

Payments and automation

Payment options include Stripe card payments with 3D Secure, MyPOS terminals, Barsy POS integration, and cash on pickup or delivery. Listed AI tools include phone ordering, importing menus from photos, smart upsells, an admin assistant, and product-description generation. These options could reduce manual work, but AI assistant questions and voice calls on the Free plan are subject to usage limits.

Security and setup

Ordering.Tools describes encryption in transit and at rest for stored files and backups, role-based access controls, hashed passwords, and tenant separation. Its privacy policy identifies AWS infrastructure in Ireland and says data is not transferred outside the EU/EEA, UK, and USA. The site also says setup help is free and most restaurants can go live within 30 minutes, a useful starting point for operators who need assistance moving online.

Pricing

The Free plan costs €0 and allows 20 orders per month with no platform commission. It is a sensible way to start or serve a low-volume venue, but the monthly cap makes it unsuitable once online ordering becomes a meaningful sales channel.

Starter costs €30/month and allows unlimited monthly orders, but charges a 5% platform commission on all orders. Pro costs €60/month, also with unlimited orders, and lowers the commission to 3%. Starter keeps the fixed monthly cost lower, while Pro is the better fit for higher order volume if the reduced commission offsets its additional €30 monthly fee. Both plans make total cost depend on order revenue, so restaurants should weigh that percentage against their margins.

The phone system add-on is sold separately for a one-off €200 setup plus €60 per month, can be added to any plan, and excludes VAT. Factor in both the recurring charge and applicable VAT before choosing it.

Platforms

Ordering.Tools supports Android, iOS, and web. Customers can browse menus in a mobile browser without downloading an app or creating an account.

Who it's for

Ordering.Tools suits restaurants and hospitality businesses that want dine-in, pickup, and delivery ordering, kitchen routing, payment choices, and marketplace integrations under one roof. It is also relevant to venues with multilingual menus, allergen-labeling needs, or reservation-linked preparation. A venue with very low order volume can begin on Free; operators expecting substantial online sales should compare the commissions with their margins before committing. Businesses looking only for kitchen display software may prefer a more focused alternative.

Pros and cons

Pros

One system handles dine-in, pickup, and delivery alongside kitchen screens, thermal printers, and admin-panel routing.
Menu tools include sizes, modifiers, promotions, multiple languages, and labels for 14 major allergens.
Marketplace integrations and multiple payment methods can support restaurants already taking orders through those channels.
The Free plan has no commission, and free setup assistance lowers the initial barrier to getting started.

Cons

The Free plan’s 20-order monthly cap limits its usefulness for active online ordering.
Starter and Pro both take a commission on all orders, which can weigh on margins as order revenue grows.
The phone system adds €60 per month plus a one-off €200 setup, before VAT.
AI assistant questions and voice calls on Free are subject to usage limits.

Alternatives

For a no-subscription system that runs locally at the venue, consider Baresto Manager, an open-source option with optional paid installation support. HungerRush has a qualifying From $0 / Month Starter plan limited to one location and one POS terminal, while custom pricing is available for its other plan. ChefDesk offers paid plans priced according to outlets and modules, and a free trial.

Odoo Restaurant has a One App Free plan with unlimited users, while its Standard plan covers all apps. NodeDR OrderRestro is a free option that supports self-hosting. For a kitchen-display-focused choice, CurryIQ Kitchen Display has a paid Starter plan at 499.00 INR per month for one branch, while FloCafe KDS is free, open-source, and self-hosted, with hardware and operating costs separate. Fresh KDS is a paid alternative with an Essentials plan at 20.00 USD per month per screen.

Verdict

Ordering.Tools is a good candidate for restaurants that need ordering, menu controls, payment options, and kitchen routing to work together, especially when marketplace and reservation-linked workflows matter. Start with Free for a low-volume operation, but move carefully: once orders grow, the 5% or 3% commission can become the deciding cost. Look elsewhere if you need only a kitchen display or want to avoid percentage-based fees.
