Overview

The platform brings timetables, bookings, membership billing, attendance, communications, and reporting together for businesses ranging from martial arts schools and gyms to yoga, Pilates, dance, and aerial studios. That breadth suits operators with several kinds of sessions or recurring memberships; a business needing only a basic booking tool may find the broader package unnecessary.

Clubworx is a Queensland-based, people-and-service business. Its privacy policy says personal information is stored in Australia and may be accessed or transferred overseas through service providers, partners, or cloud services.

Key features

Bookings and attendance

Class, personal-training, and appointment timetables share capacity controls, so businesses can manage bookings across different session types. Waitlists help handle full classes, while attendance tracking and a self-check-in kiosk cover arrival and participation. This is a practical combination for clubs managing recurring sessions, rather than just one-off appointments.

Communications and member apps

Email, SMS, and notifications can automate reminders, campaigns, and updates, reducing routine manual messaging. Optional iOS and Android member app add-ons support bookings, payments, waitlists, family accounts, workout tracking, and proximity check-in. The app is an add-on, so businesses should factor that into their choice if a branded member-facing experience is important.

Payments and connections

Clubworx connects to payment providers rather than processing payments itself. In Australia and New Zealand it uses Ezidebit for direct debit and card payments; operators elsewhere should account for the need to connect a provider. Integrations include Brivo access control, barcode or scanner point of sale, and Zapier, with Mailchimp, Google Docs, Facebook, and Stripe also named as connectable apps.

Security

The privacy policy describes encryption for stored and transmitted data, regular security testing and monitoring, automated threat detection, and access controls. Those measures provide a useful baseline for businesses handling member information, though the stated overseas access and transfers are worth considering when data location matters to an operator.

Pricing

Clubworx has a freemium model, with a free plan and a 15-day premium trial that requires no credit card. After the trial, customers can select a paid plan or continue on the free tier. Plans are constrained by active members, which Clubworx defines as paying customers; prospects and cancelled members do not count. Exceeding a plan limit moves the customer to the next available plan, so growth can change the bill.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	Free forever	Up to 20 active members, 1 website, online booking, payment acceptance, email and SMS, self-check-in kiosk, and attendance tracking.
Growing	109.00 AUD per month	Up to 100 active members, retail point of sale, and one-to-one onboarding with a customer success specialist.
Accelerating	149.00 AUD per month	Up to 250 active members, multisite for multiple clubs, and custom online forms and waivers.
Established	169.00 AUD per month	Unlimited active members, member assessments, workout tracking, advanced email and SMS sequences, and automatic late-payment notification.

Free is a credible starting point for a small operation, but its 20-member ceiling makes it a short runway for a growing club. Growing adds point of sale and onboarding while raising the cap to 100; Accelerating is the step for multi-club operators or those needing custom forms and waivers. Established removes the active-member ceiling and adds assessment and communications tools, making it the clearest fit for larger memberships. Paid plans include chat, email, and phone support as well as one-to-one onboarding.

Platforms

Clubworx is available on web, Android, and iOS. Member apps for iOS and Android are add-ons rather than a feature to assume is included with every setup.

Who it's for

Clubworx is best suited to fitness operators that combine class scheduling with recurring memberships, attendance, and member communication. Martial arts and combat sports schools, gyms, personal trainers, yoga and Pilates studios, dance businesses, and pole and aerial studios are all within its stated audience. Small operators can begin on the free tier; multi-site businesses and clubs with larger rosters have paid tiers that address those needs. It is less compelling for a business that wants payment processing built directly into the platform or only needs a narrow scheduling tool.

Pros and cons

Pros: One system handles classes, appointments, memberships, waitlists, and attendance, which suits operators coordinating multiple fitness workflows.
Pros: The free plan includes online booking, payments, email and SMS, and kiosk check-in for up to 20 paying members, giving a small business room to establish its operation.
Pros: Paid tiers step up to 100 and 250 members, then unlimited members, with relevant additions such as multisite support, assessments, and advanced messaging.
Cons: Active-member limits trigger a move to the next plan, so customer growth can require a higher-priced tier even when the business only slightly exceeds its cap.
Cons: Payments rely on connected providers rather than Clubworx processing them, adding a dependency for businesses choosing how to collect dues.
Cons: Member apps are add-ons, which may add cost or setup considerations for operators who regard a dedicated app as essential.

Alternatives

For a broad comparison, start with Fitness Studio Scheduling Software, Gym Membership Billing Software, Martial Arts School Software, Fitness Website Builders, or Membership Management Software.

WellnessLiving is a paid option with a free plan and trial; its Starter plan is 62.00 USD per month billed annually and includes one staff member, classes and appointments booking, plus client and staff apps. Consider it if those app inclusions and annual billing suit better.
PushPress offers a free tier with no monthly fees, but its stated charges are 4.99% + .30 CC and 2.89% + .30 ACH. Its Pro plan is 159.00 USD per month. It is worth comparing if a free starting tier with unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff is the priority.
OpenMat has no monthly subscription fee, while transaction fees apply to eligible online payments. It is a relevant comparison for a gym that prefers to avoid a monthly subscription.
Gymdesk is a paid platform with a free trial and no free plan; its Gymdesk plan for up to 50 members is 75.00 USD per month billed monthly. It may suit a smaller roster if that monthly price and cap fit.
Pike13 is a paid option without a free plan; Essential is 159.00 USD per month on a 12-month contract for solo or small studios, with unlimited staff seats and client profiles. Compare it if those seat and profile terms matter more than a free entry tier.
ScheduleBliss is a paid option with a free trial and a 39.00 USD per month plan listing unlimited members and clients, staff, products, programs, rooms, and resources. It merits a look if unlimited listed capacity at that monthly price is central.
Gymcatch has no free plan; its 10.00 GBP per month plan includes unlimited bookings, customers, and team members. It is a simpler price point to compare for operators focused on those limits.
TeamUp is a paid platform without a free plan or trial; its 101–200 active-customer tier is 189.00 USD per month. It is a comparison for businesses evaluating that customer range and price.

Verdict

Choose Clubworx if your fitness business needs bookings, recurring memberships, attendance, and communication in a shared system, with a free starting point and paid capacity as the roster grows. Its broad operational coverage is the main reason to choose it. Look elsewhere if you want the platform itself to process payments or if member apps must be included rather than offered as add-ons.
