Overview

Contractor+ brings customer management, field operations, and business administration into one platform for build and service contractors. It is best suited to trade businesses that need more than invoicing alone; the main caveat is that the free plan’s monthly billing cap and the paid plans’ user limits deserve a close look.

The company serves more than 30 industries, including general contracting, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, roofing, and handyman services. Its scope—CRM, lead generation, project and field service management, bookkeeping, estimates, scheduling, invoicing, client communications, a client portal, time and mileage tracking, and AI tools—makes it a broader fit than a stand-alone billing app. Online payments, payment requests, and recurring invoices are supported.

Key features

Customers, jobs, and field work

Contractor+ combines lead and customer records with project and field service management, scheduling, and communications. That breadth is useful for a contractor who wants to connect customer follow-up to work coordination rather than manage those tasks in separate tools. Time and mileage tracking, bookkeeping, and a client portal extend the platform into routine job administration.

Estimates, invoices, and integrations

FREEDOM allows up to five estimates or invoices a month; PRO removes that quota. The limit makes the free tier more appropriate for occasional billing than for a business sending estimates and invoices regularly. Contractor+ also supports recurring invoices and online payments. Its QuickBooks Online integration automatically syncs estimates, invoices, and client data, which is a practical advantage for contractors already using that accounting product.

Integrations include ABC Supply, Ace Hardware, Angi Leads, CompanyCam, EagleView, Hover, Lowe’s, NEXT Insurance, QXO, Thumbtack, and Wisetack, alongside QuickBooks Online. Enterprise customers and strategic integration partners can access an API with more than 400 endpoints covering contacts, properties, jobs, work orders, estimates, invoices, expenses, requests, and opportunities; communications are marked as coming soon. That API breadth is most relevant to larger businesses building connected workflows, rather than a typical solo contractor.

Pricing

Contractor+ uses a freemium model, with FREEDOM free forever and paid plans starting at $29.00 USD per month. A 14-day trial covers most premium features, including job scheduling and team chat. The plans differ meaningfully in billing allowance and user capacity:

FREEDOM: 0.00 USD per free, billed free forever. It includes basic CRM, up to 250 leads and clients, up to five estimates or invoices per month, and access on web, mobile, and tablet. This is a reasonable starting point for a small operation testing the workflow, but the contact and billing caps can constrain regular use.
PRO: 29.00 USD per month for one user, with unlimited leads and clients and unlimited estimates and invoices. It suits a solo contractor who has outgrown FREEDOM’s caps; the single-user allowance is the key restriction for anyone sharing the system with a crew.
PRO TEAM: 58.00 USD per month, including the first two users, with each additional user costing $20/month. This is the more relevant step for a small team, though costs rise as more people need access.
MAX: 500.00 USD per month for unlimited users, including $1K/yr in Voice credits and $1K/yr in AI credits. Its user allowance and included credits target larger teams; a smaller contractor may not need that scale.

Annual contracts are billed upfront in one invoice, and prices exclude VAT and sales tax where applicable. Customers can cancel at any time through self-service, but sales are final and no refunds are offered. One-on-one Zoom setup sessions and demos are available from the Customer Success team five days a week.

Platforms

Contractor+ is available on Android, iOS, and the web, and the free plan also supports tablet use. That combination gives contractors desktop and mobile access without limiting the free tier to one device type.

Who it's for

Contractor+ is a strong fit for trade businesses that want customer records, estimates, job coordination, and invoicing under one roof. Solo contractors can start with FREEDOM if five monthly estimates or invoices and 250 leads and clients are enough; PRO removes those caps but remains limited to one user. Teams should compare PRO TEAM’s per-user cost with MAX’s unlimited-user plan. Businesses seeking only a simple invoice maker, or needing more than one user on PRO, may be better served elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: CRM, field-service operations, estimates, scheduling, and invoicing share one platform, making it relevant to contractors managing work as well as billing.
Pro: QuickBooks Online automatically syncs estimates, invoices, and client data, reducing the need to move those records manually.
Pro: FREEDOM is free forever and works across web, mobile, and tablet, giving small operators room to start without a subscription.
Con: FREEDOM caps billing at five estimates or invoices a month and limits records to 250 leads and clients, so active businesses may need to upgrade early.
Con: PRO costs $29.00 USD per month but covers only one user; adding crew members requires PRO TEAM or MAX.
Con: Sales are final with no refunds, making the 14-day trial especially important before committing.

Alternatives

For readers comparing contractor-focused billing and operations tools, start with the Contractor Invoicing Software list. Plumbing businesses can browse Plumbing Software, while handyman operators can compare the Handyman Software list.

Invoice Plus is a simpler freemium choice if basic expense tracking, offline mobile use, and a free allowance of 10 invoices a month matter more than Contractor+’s broader contractor operations scope.
Just Invoice offers a free guest generator for unlimited invoice PDFs, but requires business details, clients, and line items to be entered again each time.
Invoice Ninja is worth considering for a free invoicing tool with unlimited invoicing and broader platform coverage, including desktop and self-hosted options; its free plan is limited to five clients.
Zoho Invoice is a free alternative for eligible Indian businesses, with up to two users, three projects, and 500 invoices per year.
Bookipi is another freemium option, with its free plan allowing up to three invoices and three eSignatures per month.
Invoicely offers a free plan with five monthly invoices and three saved clients, but no team members and PayPal-only payments.
InvoiceGo is an iOS alternative with a free download and in-app purchases.
FreshBooks is a paid alternative with Lite at 23.00 USD per month, Plus at 43.00 USD per month, and Premium at 70.00 USD per month.

Verdict

Contractor+ is the better fit for contractors who want customer, job, and billing tools in one system, especially when the free tier’s caps are manageable or the team can justify a paid plan. Its broad scope and QuickBooks Online sync are compelling reasons to choose it; the single-user PRO plan, FREEDOM quotas, and no-refund policy are good reasons to compare alternatives before upgrading.
