Overview

CompanyMood aims to help employers spot workplace strengths and challenges early through regular assessments of staff mood and relevant topics. It also gives teams ways to collect more structured feedback and record improvement efforts, rather than stopping at a sentiment score.

The service targets organizations with 100–25,000 employees, especially in DACH and Europe. Teams, its free plan, allows up to 30 people, so it is better treated as an entry point or small-group option than as a free deployment for most of that target range. Team-level results require at least five people in a department, and employees cannot see which colleagues have signed up. That supports privacy, though a small department may not get its own results.

Key features

Recurring mood tracking uses a validated, simple method to gather employee feedback, intended to make emerging strengths or problems easier to notice. Surveys can be set up for the company, departments or roles, with real-time online analysis and PDF reporting. Pulse and engagement surveys, anonymous responses and action planning are supported, making the service relevant to organizations that want to link listening with follow-up.

Actions, statements, event pins, feedback chat and a suggestion box provide several channels for communicating and documenting improvements. This breadth can help teams keep follow-up visible, although organizations that only need a basic survey tool may not need the added workflow options.

Automated PDF reports and CSV/XLS exports support both quick review and analysis alongside HR data. Integrations include Slack, Microsoft Teams, Personio, Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365. The API can bring mood tracking into company software such as an intranet or employee platform; on Slack, the EVA bot sends proactive reminders to submit ratings.

Android and iOS apps support push reminders, 14 languages and participation by employees without PC workstations. CompanyMood says its infrastructure operates in the EU under GDPR requirements and that it performs regular penetration tests. These provisions will matter to employers with European privacy requirements and distributed or deskless workforces, though the five-person reporting threshold remains relevant to anonymity in small departments.

Pricing

CompanyMood uses a freemium model, with a free plan and paid plans from €3 per user per month. A free trial is also offered.

Teams — 0.00 EUR per free: Free, billed at 0€, for up to 30 people. It includes the Moodbarometer, Suggestion-Box, mobile apps, PDF reports and a dashboard. This is a useful way for a small group to start collecting feedback, but the cap makes it unsuitable for a broad rollout across the intended customer base.
Business — 3.00 EUR per month: Billed at 3€ per person per month, with a minimum price of €99 per month. It adds Topics, the Survey System, Statements & Event-Pins, Roles and reporting by unit. This is the relevant step up for employers needing structured surveys and unit-level reporting, but the monthly floor may be disproportionate for smaller organizations.
Enterprise — 5.00 EUR per month: Billed at 5€ per person per month. It includes individual GDPR contracts, premium support, advanced filters, security options, API access and HRIS Sync. It suits organizations needing those contractual, integration or security capabilities; its per-person price is higher than Business.

The price difference between Business and Enterprise buys specific administrative and integration capabilities, rather than simply more survey tools. Organizations that need API access or HRIS synchronization should weigh Enterprise against the added per-person charge; those who do not need those features can consider Business, subject to its €99 monthly minimum.

Platforms

CompanyMood supports Android, iOS, web and API access. The mobile apps extend participation to employees away from computers, while API access enables integration into company-owned software on Enterprise.

Who it's for

CompanyMood is best suited to medium and large European employers that want recurring employee mood feedback, surveys at more than one organizational level and tools for recording follow-up. It is particularly relevant where mobile participation, HR-system connections or European data handling are important. Small organizations should check the Business minimum, while small departments should consider whether they meet the anonymity threshold for team results.

Pros and cons

Pro: Mood tracking, company-, department- and role-level surveys, reporting and action tools sit in one service, supporting a feedback cycle from collection to follow-up.
Pro: Mobile apps, multiple languages and Slack reminders give employees different ways to participate, including those without PC workstations.
Pro: CSV/XLS exports and integrations with named HRIS and messaging systems support use alongside existing HR workflows.
Con: Teams is capped at 30 people, so the free plan does not cover many organizations in the service’s stated target range.
Con: Business costs at least €99 per month, which can make the paid survey and reporting capabilities a poor fit for smaller employers.
Con: A department needs five people before team-level results are available, limiting reporting for small units.

Verdict

Choose CompanyMood if your organization wants regular mood check-ins tied to surveys, reporting and practical improvement tools, especially across a European workforce using mobile or HR-system integrations. Look elsewhere if the Business minimum is too high for your team or if departments are too small to meet the five-person threshold for team results.
