Overview

ComplyFood is built for food operators who need a structured way to run food-safety checks and follow up on issues. It is best suited to Australian businesses with recurring compliance work and staff sharing responsibility for records. Its value lies in linking checks to follow-up and audit reporting; the trade-off is custom pricing and a trial that excludes reports.

Key features

The drag-and-drop form builder lets operators create digital forms, checklists and training materials around their own processes. Daily, weekly or monthly schedules put due work in front of staff during a shift, and escalations can notify staff when a task is late. This makes it a better fit for teams that need to keep recurring checks moving than for businesses seeking only a place to archive records.

Individual four-digit PINs attribute form activity to staff and timestamp it, giving managers a clearer trail of who completed a check and when. Corrective actions can be assigned to staff and tracked in the admin console, including historic actions. Together, those functions help connect a missed or failed check to follow-up rather than leaving it as an isolated entry.

The dashboard compiles activity into downloadable reports for auditors or verifiers, but reports are excluded from the 14-day trial. That limitation matters: a prospective customer can assess most of the workflow, but cannot use the trial to evaluate the reporting output central to an audit handoff.

ComplyFood integrates with ETI Bluetooth temperature probes, allowing readings to flow directly into temperature questions in forms. Its wireless temperature monitoring can also record equipment temperatures and notify users when they change. These capabilities suit kitchens that want to reduce manual temperature entry; they are less compelling if a business does not need connected monitoring. ComplyFood says it encrypts and regularly backs up data using Amazon Web Services.

Pricing

ComplyFood uses custom pricing, with plans available by enquiry and special pricing for large operators with multiple sites. Customers can pay monthly or annually; annual payment is upfront for a year. The company describes its pricing as having no setup costs, contracts or hidden costs, but a buyer still needs a quote to compare the actual subscription cost against alternatives.

There is no free plan. The 14-day trial requires no credit card and includes the software features except Reports. That makes it a low-commitment way to assess forms, schedules and corrective actions, but not the complete audit-reporting workflow. The published terms do not identify seat or record quotas.

Platforms

ComplyFood supports Android, iOS and web. The mobile app is for recording food-safety information, while the web console is for administering the program and viewing reports. Email support, an online portal with articles and videos, and dashboard support chat are also available.

Who it's for

ComplyFood targets food businesses required under Australian law to comply with food-safety legislation. Its stated audience includes cafes, restaurants, caterers, schools, hospitals and aged-care facilities. Multi-location support and special pricing for larger multi-site operators make it relevant to groups managing several sites, while the PIN attribution and task escalation are useful where multiple staff share checks. It is a less natural fit for buyers who need a free tier or want to compare a published price before speaking to sales.

Pros and cons

Pros: Scheduled forms, late-task escalations and assigned corrective actions connect routine checks with follow-up.
Pros: Staff PINs and timestamps make responsibility for recorded activity clearer.
Pros: ETI probe integration and wireless temperature monitoring support connected temperature records.
Cons: Custom pricing requires an enquiry, making direct cost comparison harder.
Cons: Reports are excluded from the trial, so buyers cannot assess the full audit-reporting workflow during the 14-day evaluation.
Cons: There is no free plan for businesses that want to continue on a no-cost tier.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Restaurant Food Safety Software. BipOrder HACCP is a better fit for buyers who want a freemium option and support for Android, iOS, web and API. SafePlate offers a free Starter plan for one facility, with HACCP checklists, temperature logs and inspection tracking, making it worth considering for a single-site operation seeking a free starting point.

BackResto is another paid option, with a no-commitment plan that includes all modules, unlimited users, training and setup, and 7/7 customer support. Hubl publishes per-site monthly prices and allows unlimited users and devices on its Tall plan, which may suit buyers prioritizing a visible subscription price. Traceo has a free plan capped at one establishment and 50 HACCP records per month, a possible fit for businesses with modest record volumes.

Appticc HACCP publishes a Restaurante plan at 29.00 USD per month for one location and up to five professionals making records, which is useful if those limits fit the operation. Food Safe System publishes a sensor-focused plan at 21.50 AUD per month per sensor, with multiple users and kitchens and automated temperature monitoring; it is a more targeted choice for buyers chiefly seeking sensor-led monitoring. FoodDocs publishes a Lite plan at 99.00 USD per month per site, with unlimited users, monitoring tasks and corrective actions, making it an option for buyers who want a visible per-site price and those stated capabilities.

Verdict

Choose ComplyFood if your Australian food business needs recurring digital checks, staff-attributed records, corrective-action tracking and connected temperature monitoring in one program. The no-card trial is easy to start, but its report exclusion and enquiry-based pricing are meaningful hurdles. Look elsewhere if you need to test audit reports before committing, require a free plan, or want to compare exact subscription prices upfront.
