Overview

ConfigCraft embeds guided configuration in WooCommerce and carries configuration data from product pages through cart and checkout into order items. That can keep a configured order understandable to store staff within the existing sales flow. Product rules and guided selling support structured choices, but compatibility is not guaranteed with every theme, plugin, host, or customized WordPress installation.

The non-expiring free core includes guided steps, option fields, simple live pricing, artwork uploads, saved and shared configurations, and WooCommerce cart-to-order data. It covers the basic path from selection to order, but stores needing complex price logic or dedicated post-order workflows must add paid capabilities.

Key features

Configuration and pricing

Simple option pricing is a sensible starting point for products whose choices have straightforward costs. Pro adds matrix pricing, CSV price-list imports, cross-field filters, a pricing simulator, and premium starter kits. These additions suit stores with prices that vary across combinations or price lists that change often; they are harder to justify when basic option pricing is enough.

Quotes and production

The Quote Add-on supports structured quote requests, configuration summaries, admin review, customer follow-up, PDFs, and conversion from quote to order. It is aimed at custom-sales workflows where staff need to review requests before a purchase is finalized. The Production Add-on adds statuses, internal notes, worksheets, files, and operational context for configured orders, making it relevant to teams coordinating work after checkout rather than stores that only need a customer-facing configurator.

Paid annual licenses include English standard support through official My Account channels and email, without a guaranteed response time. Product updates may include security and compatibility improvements, bug fixes, and new features. Installed software continues to work after a license expires, but updates, premium resources, and add-on modules require renewal. For external integrations, the official community recommends documented server-side endpoints or HTTPS webhooks and keeping privileged credentials out of browser code.

Pricing

Free and Pro

ConfigCraft Free is free and includes the complete configurator core under the GPL open-source license; it does not expire. The separate Free plan is free and covers guided configuration, simple option pricing, file uploads, saved and shared configurations, and WooCommerce cart and checkout. These free options suit stores testing or running basic configuration, but do not include Pro’s advanced pricing tools.

ConfigCraft Pro — Single Site costs 99.00 EUR per year for 1 site; Studio costs 199.00 EUR per year for 3 sites; Agency costs 399.00 EUR per year for 10 sites. Each is billed annually and renews at the stated annual price, excluding the launch price. Pro fits stores with extensive or frequently updated price lists; the tier choice depends on how many sites need the license.

Quote and Suite plans

Quote Add-on — Single Site costs 2939.00 EUR per year for 1 production site; Studio costs 5979.00 EUR per year for 3 production sites; Agency costs 119159.00 EUR per year for 10 production sites. Each requires Free and the matching Pro plan. The high annual commitment makes these tiers a fit for businesses that depend on formal quote handling, not stores that only need option pricing.

ConfigCraft Suite has custom pricing for 1, 3, or 10 production websites. ConfigCraft Suite — Single Site costs 129149.00 EUR per year for 1 production site and bundles Pro, Quote, and Production. It is for businesses that need the full workflow; stores needing only one of those capabilities can avoid paying for the others.

Platforms

ConfigCraft is self-hosted and web-based, with an embedded deployment designed for compatible WordPress and WooCommerce installations. Its value depends on working within that environment; it is not a fit for stores using a different commerce platform. Third-party themes, plugins, hosting, and customizations can affect compatibility.

Who it's for

Choose ConfigCraft Free for a WooCommerce store selling configurable products with straightforward options. Pro is aimed at stores with large or frequently revised price lists. Add Quote when custom sales require review and follow-up, and Production when a team needs to manage configured orders after purchase. Stores outside compatible WordPress and WooCommerce setups, or those seeking only basic pricing without the annual add-ons, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free core does not expire and carries configuration data into WooCommerce order items, keeping basic configured orders connected to checkout.
Pros: Pro, Quote, and Production address distinct pricing, sales, and post-order needs, so stores can match capabilities to their workflows.
Cons: Advanced pricing, quotes, and production operations require annual licenses or add-ons, with substantial costs for quote and full-suite plans.
Cons: License renewal is needed for updates, premium resources, and add-on modules, even though the installed software keeps working.
Cons: Compatibility is not guaranteed across third-party themes, plugins, hosting, and customized WordPress installations.

Alternatives

Product Configurator Software is a broader directory for comparing configurator options. Consider ConvertSite Product Configurator if a free tier with 250 AI credits per month and a 7-day publishing trial better fits the need. Hulk Product Options offers a free plan for development stores and a 10.00 USD per month Basic plan billed every 30 days, making it an option to compare for that pricing structure.

DynaMaker has a free plan with Studio, team invitations, documentation, publishing, and public users, while its Lite plan has unlimited public users; consider it when those capabilities are the priority. configento.app is a paid web option with a 49.00 EUR per month Basic plan, cloud hosting, email support, a CMS system, and one domain, for buyers who prefer that package.

ShapeDiver has a free tier and a Startup plan from €199/month with annual plan, 2,000 monthly credits, up to 30 seconds of computation, and 2 seats; compare it when those limits and seat count suit the project. Threekit, QAD Configurator, and Twikit are alternatives to consider; Twikit offers a web platform and requires a demo or contact for pricing.

Verdict

ConfigCraft Suite is a strong fit for WooCommerce stores that need configuration data to flow into orders and want optional tools for price lists, quote review, or production coordination. Its lasting free core is the clearest reason to start, while the main reason to look elsewhere is the recurring cost of advanced workflows, compounded by site compatibility constraints and renewal requirements.
