Overview

Vantage sorts shoot photos into keep, review, and cut groups, with batch actions for handling a set and adjustments for refining keepers. It accepts camera RAW, JPEG, and TIFF files without a conversion step, and supports offline culling. That combination can help photographers narrow a shoot before continuing their wider editing workflow.

The desktop product is early access and has rough edges. Vantage says it performs better on cars and property than weddings, a meaningful distinction for professionals considering it as a regular part of their workflow. It is presented for car, property, wedding, event, portrait, and other shoots, but the stated genre difference should temper expectations.

Key features

Selection and adjustment

Vantage uses AI-assisted scoring to group images into keep, review, and cut selections. Photographers can apply exposure, colour, and straightening adjustments across keepers, or adjust photos individually. This makes it more than a pass/fail sorting tool, though the early-access caveat matters when reliability is central to a deadline-driven shoot.

Search, workflow, and delivery

Natural-language search can locate shots by subject, angle, and lighting across a shoot. Desktop exports Lightroom XMP sidecars and catalog data, and Capture One is named among supported workflows. Client galleries add password protection, expiry dates, and full-size or web-size downloads, giving photographers options for controlling access and file size when delivering selections.

Desktop culling runs locally by default and can work offline. For cloud processing, the privacy policy says uploaded originals are deleted when results are ready and photos are not used to train AI models. Everyday iPhone scanning runs on-device; optional photographer Pro modes send reduced-size copies to a scoring server and delete them after scoring.

Pricing

Vantage offers an iPhone free plan, an iPhone subscription, and a paid desktop plan. The iPhone tiers cover phone-specific cleanup and photo-selection uses; they are not a free desktop tier.

Vantage iPhone Free: £0.00 per free. Includes cleanup and duplicate finding from the last 30 days, monthly best photos, and space-saving tools. The 30-day window limits its usefulness for cleaning up an entire older library.
Vantage Pro for iPhone: £2.99 per month, billed monthly. It offers three months, a year, or whole-library access and includes one week free to try. It suits iPhone users who need broader time-range access than the free plan.
Vantage desktop: £15.99 per month, billed monthly. Includes unlimited shoots and 2.5 GB of cloud storage. It is the relevant plan for photographers working with desktop shoot culling; the included storage is a defined allowance for cloud use.

Platforms

Vantage supports iOS, macOS, and Windows. Desktop culling is hybrid, with local processing by default and cloud processing available; offline culling is supported. The iPhone app has its own free and Pro plans.

Who it's for

Vantage is a stronger fit for photographers who want culling, basic keeper adjustments, search, and client-gallery delivery in one workflow, particularly those shooting cars or property. Event and portrait photographers may also consider it, but should account for the product's early-access status. Wedding photographers have a specific reason to be cautious: Vantage says it performs less well on weddings than on cars and property.

Pros and cons

Pros: RAW, JPEG, and TIFF support without conversion, offline culling, and batch actions help accommodate shoot workflows without requiring an initial file-format change.
Pros: Search, keeper adjustments, Lightroom exports, and client galleries connect selection with refinement and delivery.
Pros: Local-default desktop culling and stated deletion of cloud originals after processing address distinct privacy concerns.
Cons: Early access means rough edges remain, a drawback for photographers who need a mature, dependable workflow.
Cons: Its stated weaker performance on weddings makes it a less compelling primary choice for wedding specialists.
Cons: Desktop costs £15.99 per month, and its included cloud storage is 2.5 GB.

Verdict

Choose Vantage if you want desktop shoot selection, keeper adjustments, search, and client-gallery delivery together, especially for car or property photography. Look elsewhere if you need a mature early-stage-free product or depend on strong wedding culling; the £15.99/mo desktop cost and stated genre caveat are the main reasons to hesitate.
