Overview

GOATY combines visual rankings with several ways to invite responses and explain opinions. Published creations can be browsed by category, popularity, recency, and related content, giving users routes to discover work beyond a direct link. That community focus is a strength for creators seeking an audience; it is less compelling for someone who only needs a private or export-focused list-making tool.

Key features

Make and discuss rankings

Custom tier labels and images let creators adapt a list to its subject, while voting gives other users a way to weigh in. Breakdowns provide written reasoning behind a ranking, which adds useful context when a graphic alone would invite questions. Polls and bracket games offer different formats for participation, so GOATY is not limited to arranging items into tiers.

Publish and share

Published creations receive unique share links and automatically generated preview images for social media, Discord, or blog embeds. Embed code also lets users place creations on an external page. This is a practical package for circulating rankings, though its value is greatest when the creator wants to publish and engage rather than simply save a list.

Anonymous use and accounts

Users can browse, create, and share anonymously or sign up. Those who choose an account can sign in through Google, Discord, Twitch, GitHub, or email and password. Anonymous use lowers the barrier to trying the platform; the choice of account methods accommodates users who prefer to sign in.

GOATY says it uses HTTPS/TLS encryption and access controls as commercially reasonable security measures, and states that it does not sell personal information to third parties. It generally aims to respond to contact and feedback messages within three days. The platform is operated as a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea.

Pricing

GOATY’s Free plan is free. It includes browsing, creating, and sharing tier lists and Breakdowns, with either anonymous or account-based use. Public publishing, custom tier labels, custom images, voting, and embed code are supported. No paid plan is needed for the listed creation and sharing capabilities, making this a straightforward option for individuals and community organizers who want to publish without a subscription.

The trade-off is that the free offer is the only plan described; users looking for a paid tier with additional allowances or controls have no such option to choose. The stated age requirement is at least 14, subject to potentially higher digital-consent ages in some jurisdictions.

Platforms

GOATY is available on the web. Its infrastructure uses Vercel for hosting, Vercel Blob and Cloudflare R2 for media storage, and Convex for backend and database services.

Who it's for

GOATY suits people who want to create public rankings, explain their reasoning, and invite a community to vote or take part through polls and bracket games. Anonymous use makes it approachable for casual contributors, while multiple sign-in options serve users who want an account. It is a weaker fit for anyone seeking a private list tool or an app on mobile or desktop platforms.

Pros and cons

Pros

Multiple formats for participation: Tier lists, polls, bracket games, voting, and Breakdowns support more than one way to share an opinion.
Useful publishing options: Unique links, preview images, and embed code make it easier to circulate creations beyond GOATY.
No account required to participate: Browsing, creating, and sharing anonymously reduces signup friction.
Free creation and sharing: The Free plan includes custom labels, custom images, and public publishing.

Cons

Web only: Readers looking for a dedicated Android, iOS, or desktop app should consider another tool.
Community-oriented rather than private: Its browsing and publishing features are designed around sharing, not a stated private-list workflow.
Age threshold: Users must be at least 14, with higher digital-consent ages potentially applying in some jurisdictions.

Alternatives

Game Tier List Tools is a broader directory for readers comparing tools in this category.

Choose TierMaker if you want Android, iOS, or macOS apps as well as a web option; its website plan is free, and Pro Monthly is 1.99 USD per month for ad-free use. Tier is another free option with Android and iOS apps, though its free plan shows ads in the app and on the website.

Supatier is a free web alternative with stated caps of 500 gallery images and 50 tiers. TierAny may suit users who want AI image search: its free plan allows five searches per day, adds a small watermark to exports, and still allows unlimited manual image uploads; Pro is 9.90 USD per month.

For live audience sessions, TierContest offers unlimited live sessions subject to a fair-use cap, up to 500 voters per session, Twitch and Kick chat voting, OBS overlays, and a live leaderboard on its free plan. TierKing is a free web option for image and text tier lists, PNG export, and shareable workflows without login to create or export. RankedMeta offers a free web option with no ads and no sign-up. TheTierMaker is free forever with no credit card, but saving, voting, and hosting live sessions require a free account.

Verdict

Choose GOATY if you want a free web-based way to publish visual rankings and turn them into community discussion through voting, Breakdowns, polls, or bracket games. Its strongest reason to choose is the mix of anonymous participation and share-friendly publishing. Look elsewhere if you need a dedicated mobile or desktop app, or want a tool centered on private list-making.
