Overview

Daisie brings together instruction, events, and a community for creators. Its online courses can be taken from anywhere, and learners can seek feedback from experts and peers. That community element complements the lessons, but it should not be mistaken for a promise of individual critique: direct comments from an instructor on student work are not guaranteed.

The homepage reports an average student rating of 4.8 out of 5 from more than 10,000 reviews. That is a positive signal, though learners should still check whether the requirements and feedback terms of a particular course suit them.

Key features

Live workshops and recorded lessons

Interactive workshops run every day, giving learners a live format rather than a library of videos alone. Pre-recorded lessons can be watched on the learner’s own schedule, which is more practical for people balancing study with work or other commitments. The combination is a strength for learners who value both formats, but it does not guarantee direct instructor feedback.

Creative community and course requirements

Daisie invites visitors to join its Discord community and says learners can get feedback from peers and experts. The value of that support will depend on what a learner needs: those seeking guaranteed instructor comments should not assume a course includes them.

Requirements vary by course. One animation course requires art equipment, Procreate on iPad, and Photoshop with the Animator’s Toolbar installed on an iPad, Macbook, or PC. That may be a meaningful extra cost or setup burden, so learners should check a course’s tools before enrolling.

Pricing

Daisie uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a 7-day trial. The Standard subscription is 0.00 USD per year (billed $0/mo billed annually ($0)) and includes full access during the 7-day trial. The trial gives prospective learners a short window to explore full access, but the stated terms do not establish what access continues afterward.

Subscription refund requests can be sent to hello@daisie.com. Daisie supports paid memberships, but no paid membership price is given; readers considering an ongoing subscription should confirm its cost and terms before committing. The free plan’s limits are also not stated, so it is difficult to judge how much learning it supports beyond the trial.

Platforms

Daisie is available on iOS and the web. Its mobile app support is iOS-only, while web access gives learners another way to use the platform. For courses with particular software requirements, such as the animation course requiring Procreate and Photoshop with the Animator’s Toolbar, check that your intended device can meet those requirements.

Who it's for

Daisie is a strong fit for aspiring or developing creators who want instruction across several creative subjects and appreciate a blend of scheduled workshops, self-paced lessons, and community. It is less suitable for learners whose priority is guaranteed one-to-one instructor critique, or for anyone who cannot meet a course’s equipment and software requirements.

Pros and cons

Pros: Daily interactive workshops give learners a live alternative to studying from recordings alone.
Pros: Pre-recorded lessons offer more flexibility for learners who cannot attend a live session.
Pros: Community feedback from peers and experts can add a social learning dimension.
Cons: Direct instructor comments on student work are not guaranteed, which matters to learners who need individual critique.
Cons: Course requirements can involve specific equipment and software, creating extra setup or expense.
Cons: The free plan’s continuing limits and paid membership price are not given, making the long-term cost harder to assess.

Alternatives

For a broader range of community platforms, browse Learning Community Platforms or Online Community Platforms.

HuddleSpot is a freemium alternative with a free Starter plan for up to 100 members and five spaces or channels; choose it when community capacity and basic analytics matter more than Daisie’s creative-course focus.
Pivot is a paid option with a $16.00 USD per month Starter plan for up to 50 total members and three spaces; consider it when those explicit community limits and member-based billing are a better fit.
Circle is a paid platform whose Professional plan costs $89.00 USD per month with annual billing and includes unlimited members and 20 spaces; it may suit operators who need a larger structured community rather than Daisie’s creative learning mix.
Nas.com has a Pro plan at $20.75 USD per month, billed yearly, with up to 10,000 members; consider it when that stated membership capacity is more relevant than Daisie’s workshops and lessons.
Heartbeat offers a $49.00 USD per month Build plan with 350 members and unlimited channels, courses, events, documents, and landing pages; it is an option when a creator needs those community-building components.
Mateflow is a paid alternative with a $49.00 USD per month Starter plan; choose it only if its stated pricing and platform fit your needs.
OpenCourse is a web-based, open-source freemium alternative with a free plan that includes unlimited members and courses; consider it if open-source software and those free-plan capabilities matter more than Daisie’s live workshops.
Swarm is a paid alternative with a $29.00 USD per month Launch plan; it may be worth comparing if its stated starting price better suits your budget.

Verdict

Choose Daisie if you want creative instruction that combines daily live workshops with self-paced lessons, plus a community of learners and creators. Its biggest advantage is that breadth of learning formats; its biggest caveats are course-specific software requirements and no guarantee of direct instructor comments. If those limitations matter, or if you need clearer ongoing pricing before joining, compare alternatives first.
