Overview

Freshsales is a sales CRM from Freshworks for teams that need to organize prospects, customer conversations, and deals in one system. It is a strong fit for small and growing sales teams that want connected communication and pipeline tools, though its three-user free-plan cap and steep jump to Pro make expansion costs worth weighing.

Its central advantage is bringing lead management, pipeline tracking, and sales automation together, with Freddy AI assisting sales work. Teams that need more advanced controls such as territory management or audit logs will need a higher-priced plan.

Key features

Lead, contact, and deal management

Freshsales supports lead capture, qualification, routing, scoring, and tracking, plus forms for bringing leads into the CRM. A 360-degree contact view follows people through their buying journey, while customizable deal stages and kanban boards let teams move work through a visual pipeline. AI-powered deal insights and closing recommendations can help teams prioritize opportunities; however, contact scoring and territory management are Pro features, not part of the entry-level paid plan.

Communication and automation

Built-in email, phone, and chat keep customer interactions alongside sales work. Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp Business integrations extend those channels, while email sync, templates, customer journeys, tasks, auto-assignment rules, sales sequences, workflows, and internal notifications support follow-up and coordination. Growth includes basic workflows, making it a practical starting point for automating repetitive tasks; teams seeking sales sequences must step up to Pro.

Freddy AI and mobile work

Freddy AI highlights leads and deals, offers insights, and drafts emails. Paid plans include 500 chatbot sessions once per account; each session lasts up to 24 hours, with validity tied to the payment cycle. The iOS and Android app supports offline work, Google Maps synchronization, check-ins, voice notes, and Gmail and Outlook add-ons, which is useful for salespeople who need CRM access away from a desk.

Integrations and security

The Freshworks Marketplace offers integrations with more than 100 apps, and APIs allow custom connections. Freshsales documentation covers integrations including QuickBooks, Xero, Jira, Shopify, Microsoft Teams, and WooCommerce. Freshworks says its application receives current security patches and its servers are hosted in a data center with 24-hour surveillance; its Trust Center lists ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27701:2019, SOC 3, and SOC 2 Type 2 materials.

Pricing

The free plan costs $0.00 per free and supports up to three users, with 100 contacts included. That makes it a small-team entry point, not a roomy option for a sales department. Paid plans start at $9 per user per month, billed annually. A 21-day trial provides access to the fully loaded CRM; accounts are suspended if users do not continue after the trial, and continuing requires choosing a plan and paying by credit card.

Plan	Price	Best fit and trade-off
Free	$0.00 per free	For up to three users exploring a basic CRM footprint; the seat cap limits adoption across a larger team.
Growth	$9.00 per month, billed annually	For startups and SMBs, with kanban, contact lifecycle stages, chat, email and phone, templates, custom fields, and basic workflows. It omits Pro capabilities such as contact scoring and sales sequences.
Pro	$39.00 per month, billed annually	For growing and mid-sized businesses needing contact scoring, deal insights, custom sales activities, territory management, and sales sequences. The price is a substantial rise over Growth.
Enterprise	$59.00 per month, billed annually	For mid-sized to large businesses requiring forecasting insights, field-level permissions, custom modules, a sandbox, and audit logs.

Paid plans include 500 chatbot sessions once per account, not a recurring per-user allowance. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are accepted across currencies.

Platforms

Freshsales supports web, iOS, Android, APIs, and extensions. The mobile app's offline mode and field-oriented tools extend its usefulness beyond desk-based selling.

Who it's for

Freshsales suits sales teams that want lead and deal management, customer communication, and routine automation connected in one CRM. Growth is the sensible paid starting point for startups and SMBs that can work within basic workflows; Pro is better suited to teams that need territory management, scoring, and sequences. Larger organizations needing permission controls, custom modules, sandboxing, or audit logs have a clearer reason to consider Enterprise. It is less compelling for teams that need more than three free seats or cannot justify the jump from Growth to Pro.

Pros and cons

Pros: Chat, email, and phone are brought into the CRM, reducing the need to separate customer conversations from deal work.
Pros: Kanban pipeline tools, lead handling, and AI insights support prioritization from capture through closing.
Pros: Mobile offline mode, check-ins, voice notes, and map synchronization suit sales work outside the office.
Cons: Free is capped at three users, so it is not a durable no-cost option for a larger team.
Cons: Several useful capabilities, including sales sequences and territory management, require Pro at $39.00 per month billed annually.
Cons: Trial accounts are suspended unless the team selects and pays for a plan after 21 days.

Verdict

Freshsales is a good choice for small and growing sales teams that want conversations, leads, pipeline work, and automation connected, with AI and capable mobile tools alongside them. Its main advantage is that breadth in a single CRM; its main drawback is the limited free tier and the sharp Pro price increase for teams that need advanced sales controls.
