Overview

DepoDash is a court reporting and transcription platform for reporters, legal teams, agencies, and courthouses. It is best suited to users who need live proceeding support alongside a workflow for recorded files and transcript completion. Its broad set of transcript tools is a strong fit for that work, but custom pricing makes budgeting less straightforward.

Key features

DepoDash supports remote, in-person, and hybrid proceedings with real-time transcripts, session recording, exhibit management, and transcript coordination. That range can help teams working across different deposition formats; solo transcribers can use it too, though the coordination features are likely more useful to agencies and larger organizations.

For recorded material, users can upload audio and video files to generate formatted, timestamped transcripts for editing and proofreading. Speaker identification and search help users navigate transcripts; private annotations, live readbacks, exhibit sharing, and rough drafts support work during proceedings. The workflow extends through proofreading, certification, and secure storage, making the platform relevant beyond initial transcription.

DepoDash says it encrypts video, audio, and exhibits with 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest, and provides role-based access controls. Its terms say it endeavors to comply with relevant data protection regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR where applicable. Those are useful safeguards for sensitive legal material, though organizations should assess the service against their own compliance requirements.

Pricing

DepoDash is paid, with custom pricing; prospective customers request a quote. The pay-as-you-go option charges after any free hours, but its exact rate is disclosed at purchase. Subscription plans are month-to-month or require a 12-month commitment, with the price also disclosed at purchase. Without rates or plan-level inclusions to compare, buyers cannot readily estimate costs before engaging with the company.

BlueLedge students can access four free hours, then pay as they go. This is a narrow free-access offer rather than a general free plan, so it does not establish a no-cost option for other users. The subscription choice suits customers who want an ongoing arrangement and can weigh the annual commitment; pay-as-you-go avoids that stated commitment but leaves the eventual cost dependent on use.

Platforms

DepoDash supports web, Windows, and macOS. The service can be accessed through a browser without installing software, which is useful for users who need browser access; Windows and Mac are also supported.

Who it's for

DepoDash suits solo transcribers, court reporters, law firms, court reporting agencies, and courthouses that need live proceeding tools or a path from recorded media to a certified, stored transcript. Its coordination and access-control features make it especially relevant to organizations managing proceedings and sensitive files. Buyers seeking a clearly priced service or a broadly available free tier should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Supports remote, in-person, and hybrid proceedings, so users can work across multiple formats.
Pros: Combines live transcript tools with file-based transcription, editing, proofreading, certification, and storage.
Pros: Encryption and role-based access controls address important protections for legal audio, video, and exhibits.
Cons: Custom pricing and rates disclosed at purchase make costs difficult to compare in advance.
Cons: The four free hours apply to BlueLedge students, not to a general free plan.
Cons: A 12-month subscription commitment may be a poor fit for customers who need only occasional access.

Alternatives

Filevine is worth considering for buyers who want matter and document management, billing and payments, plus optional intake, deposition, signature, and AI packages. eDepoze is an option for those seeking complimentary witness or attending-guest session services with basic functionality. DepoFlow offers free viewing and searching of synced depositions for litigators and support staff on Mac and Windows, with a separate videographer plan. MyVeritext is a free client portal, though court reporting and other services may incur separate charges.

AgileLaw may suit buyers who prefer a stated $195 per host session for on-demand depositions, with one monthly active host, 5 GB of storage, and one active case in its Starter plan. CaseLoom is another custom-priced option, with pricing depending on requirements and usage. MyDepo provides a complimentary online deposition-management service for Network Deposition Services court reporting, legal video, and interpreting. Remote Counsel is an alternative for streaming, with a minimum charge of one connection per event and no setup fees for transcript-only streams.

Verdict

DepoDash is a strong candidate for legal professionals and reporting organizations that need live proceedings, recorded-file transcription, and transcript work through certification and storage in one platform. Its format flexibility and practical transcript tools are the main reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if upfront price comparison, a general free tier, or a clearly capped subscription is central to your decision.
