Overview

With a supplier’s consent, DIRO captures documents from their issuing sources and authenticates them to help identify fake, stolen or tampered records. Common checks include incorporation certificates, bank statements or letters, proof of address and tax records. DIRO says it covers 195+ countries and verifies documents from 50,000+ sources, a meaningful reach for organizations onboarding suppliers across borders.

The service supports real-time verification, and verified supplier documents can include proof of verification. This makes DIRO relevant when validating identity, address or bank details is a defined step before approving a supplier. It is a focused verification product, not a broad procurement or supplier relationship management suite.

Key features

DIRO offers a one-click API and a document verification API for incorporating checks into supplier onboarding, alongside a management console. APIs and SDKs support mobile apps on iOS and Android, and DIRO says its integrations and SDK are free. That can help teams building their own workflow avoid a separate integration charge, though buyers should distinguish that from the cost of verification volume, which is not published for paid plans.

Browser access and iOS and Android support give suppliers multiple ways to complete a check without downloading a plugin or app. DIRO says it shares data only with user consent, does not sell or rent personal information, and does not store login credentials. Captured documents are encrypted, and each is shared with a third party only after user authorization. DIRO also says it is certified and compliant with ISO 27001 requirements.

Pricing

DIRO uses a freemium model. The Test plan is free and allows up to 10 verifications per month, including domestic or international documents, APIs and the management console. That is enough to evaluate a small workflow or handle occasional checks, but the monthly cap makes it unsuitable for a growing supplier pipeline.

Launch is billed Pay as you go and includes unlimited verifications, no contractual minimums, advanced APIs, the management console and multi-user security. Its price is custom pricing. The lack of a minimum commitment may suit teams with variable demand, but without a published rate it is harder to budget or compare costs before contacting DIRO.

Scale is billed Enterprise, with 500+ verifications, tailored solutions, volume pricing, dedicated support, personal onboarding, 24/5 live support, a dedicated account manager and priority access to new features. It is aimed at higher-volume organizations that need a supported deployment; custom pricing means the final cost depends on a quote. No seat allowance or trial length is stated for the plans.

Platforms

DIRO supports web, API, iOS and Android. Browser use does not require a plugin or app, while APIs and SDK integrations support mobile workflows. Its API access is central to the product’s value: teams that cannot integrate verification into onboarding may get less benefit than those with the technical capacity to do so.

Who it's for

DIRO names service providers, manufacturers, banks, trade finance organizations, e-commerce and payment platforms, freelancers, marketplaces and online sellers as potential users. It is most compelling for organizations that need to validate supplier records as part of onboarding, especially across countries or through a digital workflow. Buyers seeking end-to-end procurement management should consider a broader platform instead.

Pros and cons

Pros: Direct source verification with consent and stated coverage across 195+ countries and 50,000+ sources supports international onboarding.
Pros: APIs, SDKs and a management console give teams ways to integrate checks, while the free integration and SDK claim avoids an additional integration charge.
Pros: The free plan includes API access and up to 10 monthly verifications, allowing a small team to start without a paid commitment.
Cons: The free allowance is limited to 10 checks per month, so it will not support substantial onboarding volume.
Cons: Launch and Scale have custom pricing, which makes the cost of routine or high-volume use difficult to assess in advance.
Cons: DIRO focuses on document verification rather than broader procurement workflows, so buyers needing a complete supplier-management system may need another product.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, see Supplier Onboarding Software. PaymentWorks is worth considering when free vendor and payee registration is the priority: its standard registration and information management are free, with optional EarlyPay fees only if a vendor opts in.

Servenzo Vendor Onboarding may suit teams wanting a priced workflow product: its Professional plan is 34.00 USD per month and covers up to 10 workers, 10 jobs, 5 contracts, 3 locations and 20 documents monthly. Zoho Procurement is another option for buyers seeking procurement capabilities; its Premium plan is 35.00 USD per year, billed per user/month annually, and includes 50 requester licenses per purchased user license, basic approval workflows and basic audit trails.

CheckFlow is a lower-cost checklist option, with its Business annual plan at 9.00 USD per year, billed per user/month and 108.00 USD per user/year, including 25 GB file storage per user and unlimited checklists, templates and guides. For enterprise contract lifecycle management, Ivalua Contract Management offers an Enterprise CLM product with custom pricing.

Supplios is a broader SRM choice for buyers prepared for a higher starting price: its Basic plan starts at 1000.00 USD per month and includes core SRM plus one module. Tonkean Vendor Onboarding Automation is an alternative for teams seeking orchestration, with custom pricing based on monthly tracked users, deployment and services. Market Dojo may fit sourcing teams instead: it is freemium, with a Simple Sourcing annual licence at 500.00 GBP per year for RFx and eAuctions, templates and libraries, Excel integration and custom fields.

Verdict

Choose DIRO if supplier document authenticity is a specific onboarding requirement and you want consent-based source checks that can be embedded through APIs, with a small free allowance to start. Its international reach and integration options are the main reasons to shortlist it. Look elsewhere if you need a full procurement suite, or if you need predictable paid-plan costs before entering a sales conversation.
