Overview

Faith Teams is a web-based church management system for small and medium-sized congregations. It is best suited to churches that want records, ministry coordination, communications and giving in one system. Its broad set of church-specific tools is a clear strength, but costs rise by active-person tier and the free account is capped.

Key features

The people and families database combines contact details and membership status with notes, contributions, communications, attendance and involvement. That gives staff a shared record for routine administration, while the account itself has no cap on database people or users. Pricing is different: paid tiers depend on active people, and the free account allows up to 100.

Attendance tracking, volunteer scheduling and service planning address recurring ministry work. Children's check-in can print name and pickup tags, helping staff manage pickup at services. Group management and event registration add coordination tools beyond the database.

Giving is supported through the mobile app, text-to-give, an embedded website form, a kiosk and custom signup forms. Churches can offer members several ways to contribute. Email and 500 text messages per month are included with a subscription; extra batches of 500 cost $10. An unlimited texting option can be applied for after using the system, so churches with heavier messaging needs should account for that step.

The 10-day trial requires no credit card and is fully functional apart from messaging. Users can preview messaging, but receive no Faith Teams phone number until they subscribe. Faith Teams also says its team can import people and data from another system for free. Checkr integration supports background checks on people in the church database. The FAQ says account information is encrypted, protected and backed up; its terms say it does not retain sensitive representative or banking information used by its payment processor to verify online-giving accounts.

Pricing

The free Community+ account is free and supports up to 100 active people. It requires online giving to be activated within 30 days of sign-up, making it a constrained entry point rather than a no-strings account for churches that do not plan to use online giving.

Monthly pricing starts at $75 per month for up to 499 active people, then rises to $95 per month for 500 to 1,499, $125 per month for 1,500 to 4,999, and $150 per month for 5,000 or more. Annually billed plans cost $750 per year, $950 per year, $1,250 per year and $1,500 per year for the same tiers, respectively. The three-year plan is billed 3 years and gives the same tier amounts—$750 per year through $1,500 per year—with a free iPad offer indicated. Churches should compare the billing commitments against their expected active-person count; the advertised starting rate does not cover every congregation.

Paid plans list US-based phone and email support. Support is also available by phone and email, with support documents and tutorial videos. The free plan's 100-person ceiling and giving activation condition are the main compromises; the paid account removes the trial's messaging restriction and starts with 500 monthly texts.

Platforms

Faith Teams is available on the web, Android and iOS. That gives staff and members both browser and mobile access.

Who it's for

Faith Teams fits churches that need member records alongside attendance, children's check-in, volunteer scheduling, service planning and multiple giving channels. Its active-person price tiers make it important to budget based on congregation size. Churches needing only a small free database may find the 100-person limit and online-giving requirement restrictive; those sending many texts should weigh the included quota and application step for unlimited messaging.

Pros and cons

Pros: Member, family, contribution and participation records share one database, supporting a connected view for church administration.
Pros: Children's check-in, volunteer scheduling, service planning, group management and event registration cover practical ministry coordination needs.
Pros: Multiple giving channels accommodate different ways members may contribute, and free data-import help can ease a move from another system.
Cons: The free account stops at 100 active people and requires online giving activation within 30 days.
Cons: Texting is capped at 500 messages per month before $10 batches, while unlimited texting requires an application after using the system.
Cons: Paid pricing scales across active-person tiers, so the $75 starting price may not fit larger congregations.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of church administration tools, see Church Management Software. Churches focused on text-based donations can compare options in Nonprofit Text-to-Give Software; those prioritizing event workflows can browse Church Event Management Software. For screening workflows, see Church Background Check Software.

ChMeetings is worth considering for a lower-cost entry: it has a free plan for 50 people and 50 donations per month, plus a $12 per month V. Small plan. Choose Planning Center if its free People plan with an unlimited database and reporting or free Calendar and Services plans better match your needs. Tithely Giving is a relevant alternative for churches prioritizing giving, with a free option that has no monthly fees and unlimited donations, though transaction fees apply. ChurchTrac starts at $29 per month for 75 people and may suit a church seeking a smaller paid tier. ChurchPlan offers a free Essentials plan with unlimited members and online giving. ChurchTools starts at $39 per month for 100 people in Package XS. ChurchCMS offers a free self-hosted option with six core modules and no usage limits, while ChurchSuite is another paid church-management option.

Verdict

Faith Teams is a strong fit for small and medium-sized churches that want member administration, ministry coordination and giving together, with useful check-in and volunteer tools. Choose it for that breadth and its varied giving channels; look elsewhere if a small free account must support more than 100 active people, or if your congregation needs substantial texting without an application step and message costs.
