Overview

Litekart is a free, open-source commerce platform for building marketplaces, B2B systems, dealer networks and multi-tenant services. It is best suited to developers and organizations willing to self-host and shape the product around their operations. Its connected commerce foundation is broad; teams looking for a turnkey hosted store should look elsewhere.

Key features

Marketplace and B2B operations

The downloadable stack combines a storefront, admin dashboard, vendor portal and API server, with products, customers, pricing, inventory, cart, checkout, orders, payments and administration connected. That gives builders a substantial starting point, but does not remove the work of deploying and tailoring a commerce experience.

Marketplace tools cover vendor onboarding, catalogues, commissions, vendor orders and shared administration. Commission rules and automated payouts are also supported, making Litekart relevant to operators coordinating multiple sellers. For B2B, company accounts, buyer roles, tiered and account-specific pricing, minimum order rules, approvals, credit limits and quote-to-order conversion address purchasing rules that a basic storefront would not cover.

Integration, control and security

The API-first architecture connects the storefront, admin dashboard and vendor portal through documented APIs, events and webhooks. Included payment integrations are Razorpay, Stripe and PayPal, with an abstraction layer for adding gateways. Shipping and logistics providers, email and SMS notifications, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and analytics are supported; APIs and webhooks provide a route to ERP, CRM and OMS integrations. This flexibility suits teams with integration needs, though implementation remains their responsibility.

Stores include server-side rendering, automated sitemaps, structured data and clean URLs, alongside marketing-tool integrations. Integrated payment gateways are PCI-DSS compliant, and passwords use strong one-way hashing. Self-hosting gives the customer control over security and compliance policies, as well as ownership of data; products, customers and orders can be exported through APIs and CSV. That control is valuable for organizations with specific requirements, but they must operate their own infrastructure and policies.

Android and iOS apps can be built and branded as a paid service, then published from the customer's developer accounts. The Litekart engineering team also offers setup guidance, architecture reviews, deployment assistance, custom development, integrations, migration and ongoing technical support.

Pricing

Download and Build

The free plan is free and includes self-hosting on your infrastructure, full source code, all features and community resources. It removes a software license charge, not the responsibility of deployment and operation. There is no free trial because the plan is free.

Paid services

White Label includes complete white labeling, software updates and standard support. Engineering Support covers architecture reviews, deployment assistance, priority support, custom modules and integrations. Complete Platform Delivery includes design and build, deployment, ongoing maintenance and optional managed infrastructure. Each uses custom pricing. Mobile app development and customization is also a paid service.

Platforms

Litekart supports Android, iOS, web, API and self-hosted deployments. Its downloadable stack includes the storefront, admin dashboard, vendor portal and API server, while mobile apps are a separate paid build service.

Who it's for

Litekart is a strong fit for developers and businesses building multi-vendor marketplaces, dealer networks, B2B commerce or multi-tenant platforms, especially when data control and integration flexibility matter. It is less suited to teams seeking a ready-made hosted store or unwilling to manage infrastructure and implementation.

Pros and cons

Pro: A connected storefront, administration, vendor portal and API server give builders a broad commerce base.
Pro: Vendor operations and detailed B2B purchasing rules support more than a single-seller, standard retail model.
Pro: Self-hosting, data export and documented APIs support customer control and integration work.
Con: The free download must be self-hosted, so infrastructure and deployment remain the customer's burden.
Con: White labeling, engineering assistance, platform delivery and mobile app work are paid services with custom pricing.

Alternatives

Online Marketplace Software and Ecommerce platforms are broader directories for comparing options by category.

Choose MarketplaceKit if its free self-hosted Community Edition or $15.00 USD per month Hobby plan better fits your budget and needs; its Community Edition is a lighter version and has no customer support.

Websta is another option to compare.

Choose Marketbridge by Hykmah if a capped hosted plan is preferable: its free plan allows 1 product, 100 records, 100 transactions per month and 1 GB of storage, with docs support and no onboarding.

Dokan Multivendor Marketplace offers a free Lite plan with unlimited vendors and WordPress.org support, or a Starter annual plan at 149.00 USD per year.

MarketSpace is another marketplace option to compare.

FlyCommerce is another option to compare.

Choose Sharetribe if a paid service with a free trial better suits your project: its Build plan is 39.00 USD per month and includes 1M usage credits per month, unlimited test users and listings, and Test mode API access.

Tamaranga is another option to compare.

Verdict

Litekart is a compelling foundation for developers and businesses building marketplace or B2B commerce who want source-code access, self-hosting and control over their data. Its connected business capabilities are the main draw; look elsewhere if you need a managed store rather than a platform your team must deploy and operate.
