Overview

Generation starts with choices for genre, mood, instruments and structure. You can adjust elements or regenerate one selected section rather than rebuilding the whole song, which is useful when a track is close but needs a targeted change. Vocal generation, audio upload, stem editing and MP3 or WAV export extend the workflow from creation to further production.

Music generation consumes 900 credits per minute. The free plan’s 10,000 monthly credits work out to about 11 minutes, and its output is for personal use only. Self-Serve paid plans allow online and offline commercial use, subject to exclusions, but commercial rights vary by tier. Release to Spotify and Apple Music is a plan feature, not a right included across every subscription.

Key features

Directed creation and editing: Set the musical direction, then revise elements or regenerate a chosen section. This makes the tool better suited to iterative work than a workflow that ends with one generated take.
Stems and audio formats: Stem editing and export provide more scope to work with generated material; finished audio can be exported as MP3 or WAV.
Music API: Music v1 and v2 are available through ElevenAPI. The API supports generation, audio reference, inpainting and long-form composition, making it relevant to teams incorporating music generation into software or production workflows.
Language and commercial workflows: Music v2 supports English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and more. Generated tracks can be used in ads, branded content, games, film and video workflows, subject to the applicable plan terms.
Marketplace: Creators can publish tracks and earn when others download, remix or use them, adding a route to distribute work beyond individual projects.

Pricing

Plans offer monthly and yearly billing. The prices below are monthly billing; the free plan has a monthly credit allowance and personal-use restriction. At 900 credits per minute, the stated minute estimates are useful for comparing output, but actual room for work depends on how much music you generate.

Plan	Price	Allowance and terms
Free	0.00 USD per free	10,000 credits per month; personal use only.
Starter	6.00 USD per month	30,000 credits, about 33 minutes, and 2 concurrent generations. Commercial use allowed, but no streaming.
Creator	22.00 USD per month	121,000 credits, about 134 minutes, and 2 concurrent generations. Commercial use allowed, but not enterprise.
Pro	99.00 USD per month	600,000 credits, about 667 minutes, and 2 concurrent generations. Commercial use allowed, but not enterprise.
Scale	299.00 USD per month	1,800,000 credits and 3 seats.
Business	990.00 USD per month	6,000,000 credits and 10 seats.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Custom credits, seats, terms and assurance, plus custom SSO and priority support.

Free is a personal-use option for trying the workflow, not for commercial releases. Starter is the lowest-cost paid tier and adds commercial use, but excludes streaming and limits output to about 33 minutes a month. Creator and Pro raise the monthly allowance substantially while retaining two concurrent generations; both exclude enterprise use. Scale and Business offer larger credit pools and multiple seats, making them more appropriate for teams, though no minute estimates or commercial terms are stated for those tiers. Enterprise is the fit for custom requirements and priority support, with custom pricing.

Platforms

Eleven Music is available on the web. The web format suits browser-based creation, while the published platform support does not establish a mobile app workflow.

Who it's for

Eleven Music is a strong fit for creators producing music for video, branded content, games or film who need to revise sections and export stems, as well as developers interested in API-based generation and editing. It is less suitable for someone who needs broad streaming rights on the cheapest paid tier, or predictable commercial permissions without checking the subscription terms.

Pros and cons

Pros: Section regeneration avoids redoing an entire track for a local change; stem editing, audio upload and MP3/WAV export support further production; API capabilities include audio reference, inpainting and long-form composition.
Cons: The free allowance is about 11 minutes and personal-use only; Starter expressly excludes streaming; paid commercial rights vary by tier and are subject to exclusions; the stated concurrency for Starter, Creator and Pro is two generations.

Alternatives

Udio is worth comparing if iOS access matters or a daily credit allowance and free trial suit your workflow.
Treblo is an option to consider if you want web and mobile support, unlimited songs on its free plan, or downloads in several audio formats.
Suno may suit creators looking for Android or iOS access and a free plan with daily credits and audio upload.
MusicWave.ai offers a web-based free tier with 10 signup credits and personal-use, streaming-only terms; consider it for a limited initial trial.
SongUp AI is another web-based freemium option, with three free instant songs for personal use.
Wubble may be a fit if unlimited generation minutes matter more than having more than three free downloads.
Mubert is an alternative with web and mobile support and a free Ambassador plan capped at 25 tracks and five downloads per month.
Loudly is another web-based option; its free generated tracks have a 30-second limit.

Verdict

Choose Eleven Music if you need to shape generated songs through section edits and stems, or want its generation and editing capabilities in an API workflow. Its editing depth and production-oriented features are the main reasons to pick it; the credit-based ceiling and tier-dependent rights are the reasons to look elsewhere if your output needs, streaming plans or licensing requirements do not fit a subscription’s terms.
