Overview

Enhancv is an online resume builder that brings together customizable layouts, AI writing help, and tools for organizing a job search. It suits applicants who want to tailor several resumes and keep applications moving in one workflow, especially experienced professionals and executives. Its breadth is useful, but the seven-day free period makes it hard to rely on as a lasting no-cost option.

Key features

The editor offers adjustable sections, fonts, colors, and backgrounds, with single-column, double-column, and multi-page layouts. That flexibility can help people present a varied work history or senior-level experience. ATS optimization and checks add a practical counterbalance: applicants can review a resume’s compatibility as they shape its design. Still, anyone choosing a more elaborate layout should pay attention to how clearly the content reads.

AI assistance can suggest resume content, parse an existing resume, identify skills, translate content while preserving formatting, and tailor a resume to a job. Enhancv also supports resume import and includes a cover-letter builder. These tools are most useful when adapting application materials across multiple roles; someone who needs only a simple document editor may not need the broader workflow.

The job tracker can import an existing Sheets or Excel tracker. A Chrome extension saves listings from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and other job sites into it, which can reduce the effort of keeping applications organized. Resume translations cover more than 30 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Swedish, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Finnish, Czech, Polish, and Norwegian.

Enhancv says account data is encrypted, is not sold, and can be exported or deleted; it also says the service is GDPR-compliant. Its AI uses models from OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and Deepseek, hosted in the EU. Support is available by email or Help Center chat, with replies targeted within 24 hours on weekdays and somewhat longer on weekends and holidays.

Pricing

Enhancv has a free option and paid plans, but its free access is limited to seven days. The Free plan is free and includes all resume templates and design tools, basic resume sections, Enhancv branding, and a maximum of 12 section items. After the seven-day period, the builder remains usable, but resume downloads require an upgrade. That makes it suitable for a short evaluation or a brief editing session, not ongoing free use.

Basic includes 1 resume and 15 entries, while Pro Monthly, Pro Quarterly, and Pro Semi-Annual each include 10 resumes. Those tiers are aimed at different levels of resume volume, but no renewal terms or billing amounts are given for them. Organizations can choose a business plan with job-ready templates, custom-branded resumes, and team collaboration tools; pricing is custom.

Platforms

Enhancv is available on the web and as a Chrome extension. There is no mobile app, so applicants who want to build or manage materials primarily on a phone should look elsewhere. The extension’s job-saving function is useful to people who browse listings on supported job sites.

Who it's for

Enhancv is a strong fit for job seekers managing several applications, people who want help tailoring resumes and cover letters, and experienced professionals or executives who need flexible ways to present their background. Its tracker and extension add value for an active search. Applicants who need only one straightforward resume, require lasting free downloads, or want a mobile app are less likely to benefit from its full feature set.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple layout and styling controls let applicants shape resumes around different work histories.
Pros: ATS checks, AI tailoring, resume parsing, and skill suggestions support the process of adapting materials to specific roles.
Pros: The tracker, spreadsheet import, and Chrome extension bring job listings and application organization into the same workflow.
Cons: Free access lasts seven days, and downloads require an upgrade afterward.
Cons: The free plan caps resumes at 12 section items and includes Enhancv branding.
Cons: No mobile app is available, and the listed paid tiers have no published prices.

Alternatives

Resume.co is a better match for applicants who prioritize unlimited downloads, unlimited AI tailoring, and unlimited AI cover letters under its Basic access plan. Rezi may suit someone seeking a defined free allowance: its Free plan includes one resume, one AI interview, three PDF downloads, and standard-format templates. Kickresume is worth considering for applicants who want a free plan with basic resume and matching cover-letter templates, plus a basic website template and pre-written phrases.

OphyAI offers a free plan with a one-time allotment of five credits and an application tracker, though full Application Assistant generation requires Pro or Premium. CoverDoc.ai may fit applicants who want to start with two free credits for job guides with cover letters and originality scores. MyCoverLetters offers a free plan with one resume upload, three cover letters, PDF and DOCX downloads, AI generation, tone and style choices, and application tracking.

GoodSpace is an option for people looking for resume-related tools across web, mobile, and browser extension platforms. Recruit Myself Cover Letter Generator may suit someone who wants to try a free first cover letter before considering its paid plan.

Verdict

Choose Enhancv if you want a flexible resume editor, AI-assisted tailoring, and job tracking in one place, particularly for a busy search or a more complex career history. Its seven-day free access and unavailable downloads afterward make the paid upgrade central to continued use; applicants seeking a lasting free workflow or mobile access should consider another builder.
