Overview

Waiz brings trip plans, bookings and group coordination into a shared itinerary. Multiple people can edit the same live plan, and a browser link lets others view it without an account. That makes collaboration straightforward, but anyone who gets the link can see the itinerary, activity locations and expense amounts. Links can be revoked or set to expire, so sharing is useful when managed deliberately rather than treated as private by default.

Offline access keeps itineraries, bookings, lists and documents available to read when a device has no connection. Changes sync after the device reconnects; offline availability is not the same as live collaboration without internet.

Key features

AI planning and routes

Waiz’s AI trip wizard can find places, check weather and walking times, edit plans, add stops, reshape days and log expenses. The route optimizer reorders a day’s stops to minimize walking. Together, these features are most useful for travelers who want help refining a detailed day, but they are Pro tools rather than part of the free plan.

Trip coordination and exports

Multi-city support, a places library, trip chat, destination insights and a day flyover give groups several ways to organize and review a trip. Itineraries can be exported as PDFs, and a whole trip or a single day can be sent to Google Maps as a list. Pro users can also forward flight, hotel, train or tour confirmations from their registered email to trips@getwaiz.com for parsing into the itinerary. That import can reduce manual entry, though it is gated behind the paid plan.

Privacy and data

Waiz says its AI features send relevant data to Google Gemini, OpenAI and Anthropic only after asking the user’s permission. It also says it does not sell user data or show ads. Account deletion has a 30-day grace period before content and uploaded files are permanently deleted. Anyone concerned about trip privacy should weigh these assurances against the exposure that comes with a public share link, and use link revocation or expiry when appropriate. Waiz lists support@getwaiz.com for questions about its privacy policy or data; the app is not intended for children under 13.

Pricing

Waiz uses a freemium model with a free plan and a free trial. The Free plan is free and includes unlimited trips and itineraries, real-time group planning and live sync, shareable trip links, and a free AI trip preview. It is a substantial starting point for travelers who mainly need shared planning, but it does not include the full AI wizard, trip chat, booking import, live weather on every day, trip insights or route optimization.

Pro has custom pricing. It includes everything in Free, plus the AI trip wizard and trip chat, email booking auto-import, live weather on every day, trip insights and the route optimizer. Pro is the better fit for travelers who want automated booking entry or AI and routing help throughout planning; the free tier is the practical choice when shared itineraries and basic coordination are enough.

Platforms

Waiz is available on iOS as a mobile app. Browser access is available to people viewing a shared trip link, but Waiz’s listed platform is iOS.

Who it's for

Waiz is best suited to groups coordinating multi-city or day-by-day travel who want a common live itinerary and the option to keep key trip information readable offline. It is less compelling for solo travelers who do not need collaboration, or for anyone who wants the AI wizard, booking imports and route optimizer without moving beyond the free plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited free trips and itineraries make it possible to organize multiple journeys without a trip-count cap.
Pro: Shared live editing and browser-viewable links let a group coordinate without requiring every viewer to create an account.
Pro: Offline caching keeps trip documents and plans readable during connectivity gaps.
Con: The AI wizard, route optimizer and email booking import require Pro, limiting the free plan’s automation.
Con: Share links reveal itinerary details, activity locations and expense amounts to anyone who has the link.
Con: Waiz is listed for iOS, which narrows its fit for travelers seeking a dedicated Android or web app.

Alternatives

AI Travel Planners is a useful starting point for comparing more tools in the category. Choose Traveln.ai if Android or web access matters alongside iOS; its Free Pilot Phase is free and requires no credit card. Yanvara is an option for a tightly capped free setup: Yanvara Free includes one saved trip and one AI trip generation per month, plus a simple packing checklist, view-only sharing and PDF export. Choose Packy AI if macOS or web support is important and a free plan limited to one destination, three days and one traveler fits the trip. Layla is another freemium travel-planning option. TripBuddy is a free alternative for travelers who want every trip, day and crew size included. Navly offers an iOS and macOS free plan with an AI planning assistant, map and location context, and itinerary building; its 2.99 USD per once Day Pass lasts 24 hours and does not renew automatically. Stippl is worth considering for its free plan covering unlimited trips, destinations, activities, co-planners, expenses and journal entries, with AI generation, PDF export and calendar sync. SMOVECITY is a free iOS and Android option with planning and routing plus an AI Buddy; bookings through partners may earn it a commission.

Verdict

Choose Waiz if your priority is coordinating a group around one live itinerary, with offline reading and an upgrade path to AI planning, booking import and route optimization. Its strongest case is the combination of shared planning and trip logistics; its main drawbacks are that key tools sit behind custom-priced Pro and public links expose meaningful trip details. Travelers who only need basic group plans can start free, while those who need broader platform support or want to avoid link-based exposure should compare alternatives.
